"Why did I get stuck on the wrong system?"

Much to the relief of an overworked Ron Paul, one thing that’s almost certainly not happening any time soon is a PlayStation 4 port of Respawn Entertainment’s upcoming mech-‘em-up Titanfall. Speaking during a financial call earlier today, EA Games’ chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen stated that the first-person shooter will remain exclusive to the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC for the “life of the title”. We bet that pleased the shareholders.

Bizarrely, the developer has been dropping hints regarding a release on Sony’s system for some time, so we suspect that the ink is still wet on this deal behind closed doors. Of course, the strange language still doesn’t rule out the possibility of a sequel shipping on the Japanese giant’s next generation machine. It’s also not clear whether some kind of ‘Game of the Year’ re-release would technically be considered a different title.

All the same, you absolutely won’t be playing the shooter when it deploys early next year. Fortunately, the likes of inFAMOUS: Second Son and DriveClub will still be around to keep you busy. We’re sure that you’ll cope with the lack of robots in your life.

Update: Respawn Entertainment's Vince Zampella has stressed that this deal only applies to the first Titanfall, and that it will work on the PS4 in future.
