God D*MNIT MAN I had such a soft spot for the last 3-4 games from spiders and really love their aa efforts. So much heart... Can we close ***** studios instead of all the good ones?
@Dom_31 eh it was pretty mid for it's genre. I expected more than anime nioh. I love nioh, but this was a decent game. A masterpiece it is pretty far from for me. Exploration was weak, enemies outside bosses were so easy it was barely fun, bosses so uneven that it's like they just tossed all but the last 2 into a hat and chose at random when they'd appear in order. Truly ridiculous on that front. Demanding you take off all your armor to be able to upgrade it is the world's worst QoL mistake in the entire action/souls/etc genre.
It has some massive missteps, and reusing every map for side quests, just like what nioh has been planned for for over a decade was also just a plain ole bad decision imo.
It's a really solid 7/10 and I really wanted to like it way more. Just really turned out to be lacking in myriads ways.
Also, there being two collectibles total that are showcase how lackluster exploration is really bummed me out and just became...a nothing burger I felt I needed to do bc it was the only thing to do besides mow down normal enemies with too much ease. And yes, I played on the highest difficulty bc normal made the game toddler tier easy.
It really needed to be more, but I'm so glad they're gonna keep doing dungeon and fighter stuff. Just sucks they won't get an opportunity to really do an incredible sequel, a la nioh 2 and 3
They no longer working on a game that came out a year ago and was completely finished and wrapped up.... Yea no sh*t sherlock. 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
They were no longer working on a game that was completed bc it was completed. The team not being able to continue making any games as a unit is a bummer, but you couldn't have said it in a more janky way. It's like you filtered what you meant to say through a piranha bytes machine 🤣🤣🤣
Jokes.
Tis a bummer but is also completely normal when a game doesn't sell as well as the imaginary and absurdist expectations company heads dream up out of their buttholes. Executives are the worst human beings alive imo
Really don't vibe with your negativity Liam. This is a dime a dozen situation, and THIS is the particular dime that made you crash out enough to write a wannabe takedown article of it.
Sounds more like it's about the third season of the show. Would be cool if they finished it up w a third game, but I'd understand if 2 was the finale, as it certainly served as a good one. I'm down for whatevers clever
Palworld opened the floodgates and now we don't have to suffer the sheer lack of innovation from the Pokemon games. I've been over them for years at this point.

Hey every game that does this ends up being borederline unplayable broken heaps of utter trash when they release anywhere but the selected high end PCs.
@Bluemoon2008 wild comment. Wo long was pretty messy, and this isn't trying to be that in any way, at all. If dark souls is bad bc you just finished sekiro, or another fast game, then the issue is certainly you. Also, the surge 2 is straight jank (I liked it but it's a 6/10 on a good day) These are some real weird opinions tbh but hey, people like what they like. Lies of p is one of the best in the genre, and better than half of what you listed imo. I think coming at it fresh and not comparing it to games it's not even trying to be like will help you vibe with it better. Or it's not for you. Either way critical and fans love it and I'm absolutely in that crowd. I liked it on my first go, loved it on ng+ and was head over heels by the dlcs end. 8/10 for me
I played the og ps4 release bc I needed to see the chaos. It was worth it. I have the complete and updated version on PC. I'll jump in after the new year probably.
@MFTWrecks directly @ you: everyone still loves Mario 2d content bc it's incredible. No one holds top down GTA as a standard for anything. Those are games that improved their formula.
In what ridiculous world does doing the opposite of improvement help them?
This isn't just trying something new. This is trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel for scraps from the scraps of fortnite billions.
Cash grab garbage. I'd love a narrative third person game from them. Something with heart and art and care and love put into it.
Although offline gets rid of a major aspect of the game (enemies being players etc), im actually kind of stoked to be able to play offline. Maybe I'll feel more inspired to do more runs when there aren't maps just being guarded by long time players trolling.
@springer17 I HATE atlus so much for this very reason. Not buying any games that aren't definitive and 2+ years old on steep discount ever again from them.
Money down the drain bc I don't give money to companies who hold up two middle fingers in front of my face the entire time I'm using their product.
@DogPark this is a huge mistake with the persona etc series as they add 30+ hours of main story content and integrate mechanics etc throughout the whole game that aren't there in base version. It's no add on. It's essential, and often has the true ending of the story included, meaning you get stiffed on the whole experience unless you get the definitive edition. It's incredibly insulting to the player base to bait and switch 100% of your games
Yea, after getting burned by them ... 4 times w 3 (twice there), 4, 5, and smt 5.... Yea I just wait until they come out w the final version instead of wasting my money on an inferior version at launch. They shoot their own feet and it's wild they're just now noticing those results.
@Megabeenz you call that measley list of nothings proof of solid meta progression? You're high. That's garbage and most of that list isn't progressing anything.

That's a subpar experience for a roguelike.

I think it's combat had a ton of potential, as the moment to moment feel was smooth as hell.
This looks similar, but in a way that respects the loop/player and also has more variety in the builds and abilities available.
Returnal had a handful of the same guns every single run and it made the repetition really grating for me.
Solas also looks like an improvement.
Let's hope these devs remember the MOST IMPORTANT PART of the genre, meta progression.

Re: GTA 6 Physical Edition Doesn't Come with Discs, It's a Code in the Box
@Mjoen physical IS a digital copy. In a box. The code is the code they use to rent a license online/digitally.
There is NO difference in buying from the ps store digitally besides an empty box.... Yikes
Re: GTA 6 Physical Edition Doesn't Come with Discs, It's a Code in the Box
Nothing worse than selling an empty box w a license code inside.
F*ck Nintendo for setting this absolute dog sh*t idea and double F*ck rockstar for digging further into that b.s.
This is a slap in the face to all gamers that buy physical. They want a way to play without just a license.
Telling ALL physical copy folk that they cannot play a disc is the biggest middle finger you could ever conceive for this demographic.
A failure in every single way.
I was already not interested in GTA VI
Now I'll be sure and wait til it hits $20 or less in a few years.
I just don't care about it. None of the games have been very good other than for social play.
