Re: GTA 6 Physical Edition Doesn't Come with Discs, It's a Code in the Box

Sketti

Nothing worse than selling an empty box w a license code inside.

F*ck Nintendo for setting this absolute dog sh*t idea and double F*ck rockstar for digging further into that b.s.

This is a slap in the face to all gamers that buy physical. They want a way to play without just a license.

Telling ALL physical copy folk that they cannot play a disc is the biggest middle finger you could ever conceive for this demographic.

A failure in every single way.

I was already not interested in GTA VI

Now I'll be sure and wait til it hits $20 or less in a few years.

I just don't care about it. None of the games have been very good other than for social play.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Dev Says He's Beaten Part 3 Over 40 Times Already

Sketti

Never seen so much CAP in one sentence.

Is it 2 hrs long?
I think there's either a translation error, or the guy doesn't know how time works.

Honestly, it makes it seem like it's a smaller package than the last two, and that would not be a good look for the finale imo.

14 maybe.
40? Full playthrough?
And he works and eats and lives and sleeps and still can play non stop from the time it's done enough to do so until now? (Reportedly less than a year)

CAP

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for May 2026?

Sketti

I played and got the endings for wuchang on Xbox but I would absolutely give it yet another run on ps5.
Nine sols is amazing so far, as I only got a few hours on Xbox before I sold everything under that terrible brand name last year.

Sports games are trash to me, so they just add bulk to the library in case I want to sell the account someday.

Overall I'm pretty pleased as a souls sadist

Re: We're Sure This Petition to Release the PS5 Last of Us Online Multiplayer Game Will Work

Sketti

So barely anyone has signed.
I guess we'll see, but no matter how many signatures they get, it won't be naughty dog doing it.

They aren't interested in the time and man power it takes to run a live service title.
They're not going to do it.
Someone else could take over, but there's no way they'd get it right like naughty dog would.

There's no proper version of this closed title that could possibly be good and also happen.

No matter how many people want it.

Case in point of Sony not caring about what people want: bloodborne

Re: The Team Behind Beloved Action RPG The First Berserker: Khazan No Longer Exists

Sketti

@Dom_31 eh it was pretty mid for it's genre. I expected more than anime nioh. I love nioh, but this was a decent game. A masterpiece it is pretty far from for me. Exploration was weak, enemies outside bosses were so easy it was barely fun, bosses so uneven that it's like they just tossed all but the last 2 into a hat and chose at random when they'd appear in order. Truly ridiculous on that front. Demanding you take off all your armor to be able to upgrade it is the world's worst QoL mistake in the entire action/souls/etc genre.

It has some massive missteps, and reusing every map for side quests, just like what nioh has been planned for for over a decade was also just a plain ole bad decision imo.

It's a really solid 7/10 and I really wanted to like it way more. Just really turned out to be lacking in myriads ways.

Also, there being two collectibles total that are showcase how lackluster exploration is really bummed me out and just became...a nothing burger I felt I needed to do bc it was the only thing to do besides mow down normal enemies with too much ease. And yes, I played on the highest difficulty bc normal made the game toddler tier easy.

It really needed to be more, but I'm so glad they're gonna keep doing dungeon and fighter stuff. Just sucks they won't get an opportunity to really do an incredible sequel, a la nioh 2 and 3

Re: The Team Behind Beloved Action RPG The First Berserker: Khazan No Longer Exists

Sketti

They no longer working on a game that came out a year ago and was completely finished and wrapped up.... Yea no sh*t sherlock. 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦

They were no longer working on a game that was completed bc it was completed.
The team not being able to continue making any games as a unit is a bummer, but you couldn't have said it in a more janky way.
It's like you filtered what you meant to say through a piranha bytes machine 🤣🤣🤣

Jokes.

Tis a bummer but is also completely normal when a game doesn't sell as well as the imaginary and absurdist expectations company heads dream up out of their buttholes.
Executives are the worst human beings alive imo

Re: The Best Soulslike Around, Lies of P Is a Big Sales Success

Sketti

@Bluemoon2008 wild comment. Wo long was pretty messy, and this isn't trying to be that in any way, at all.
If dark souls is bad bc you just finished sekiro, or another fast game, then the issue is certainly you.
Also, the surge 2 is straight jank (I liked it but it's a 6/10 on a good day)
These are some real weird opinions tbh but hey, people like what they like.
Lies of p is one of the best in the genre, and better than half of what you listed imo.
I think coming at it fresh and not comparing it to games it's not even trying to be like will help you vibe with it better.
Or it's not for you.
Either way critical and fans love it and I'm absolutely in that crowd.
I liked it on my first go, loved it on ng+ and was head over heels by the dlcs end.
8/10 for me

Re: We'll Soon See Whether Heavy Rain Dev's Live Service Multiplayer Gamble Pays Off

Sketti

@MFTWrecks directly @ you: everyone still loves Mario 2d content bc it's incredible.
No one holds top down GTA as a standard for anything.
Those are games that improved their formula.

In what ridiculous world does doing the opposite of improvement help them?

This isn't just trying something new. This is trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel for scraps from the scraps of fortnite billions.

Cash grab garbage. I'd love a narrative third person game from them. Something with heart and art and care and love put into it.

This is shlop.

Re: SEGA Actually Admits Persona 5 Royal-Style Re-Releases May Result in Stunted Game Sales

Sketti

@DogPark this is a huge mistake with the persona etc series as they add 30+ hours of main story content and integrate mechanics etc throughout the whole game that aren't there in base version.
It's no add on. It's essential, and often has the true ending of the story included, meaning you get stiffed on the whole experience unless you get the definitive edition. It's incredibly insulting to the player base to bait and switch 100% of your games

Re: Returnal's Influence Expands with PS5 Roguelite Shooter ARMATUS

Sketti

@Megabeenz you call that measley list of nothings proof of solid meta progression? You're high. That's garbage and most of that list isn't progressing anything.

It's one thing, tiny weapon perks. That's pretty much it. Oh and a melee/grapple eventually.

Absolutely pitiful stuff.

It's a pretty game w good moment to moment gameplay and the worst roguelike ever made.
(Not counting no budget/asset shlop)

Re: Returnal's Influence Expands with PS5 Roguelite Shooter ARMATUS

Sketti

@Megabeenz you truly didn't even read a single word I wrote if all you got was "subpar game".

I said it's a terrible roguelike, the genre It belongs to, bc it is the absolute worst roguelike ever made.

The point of that genre is meta progression.
Returnal has none.
That's not a fun challenge, it's tedium as nauseum, and I enjoy difficult games that respect my time and money. Returnal does not do that.

That's a subpar experience for a roguelike.

Again, moment to moment gameplay has gotten enough flies eating the crap, but I'm mostly excited for their next game, as they've mentioned they didn't leave out the most important aspect of their game genre like they did w returnal.

Solas should be fun! And the game in this article also looks like a great slice of variety in the pie.

Any game doing the returnal formula, but fixing the massive missing piece is likely gonna be actually fun!

Re: Returnal's Influence Expands with PS5 Roguelite Shooter ARMATUS

Sketti

I personally hate returnal.
I think it's the worst "roguelike" ever made.

I think it's combat had a ton of potential, as the moment to moment feel was smooth as hell.

This looks similar, but in a way that respects the loop/player and also has more variety in the builds and abilities available.

Returnal had a handful of the same guns every single run and it made the repetition really grating for me.

Solas also looks like an improvement.

Let's hope these devs remember the MOST IMPORTANT PART of the genre, meta progression.

If I'm just getting a middle finger and a "git gud" after every run, I'll throw in the bin right next to returnal, and all the other subpar roguelikes and lites out there.

Re: Mafia PS5 Was a Success, Beats Sales Expectations

Sketti

@LiamCroft have not played it, but love the series for the most part. I'm excited to get to it in my massive backlog, and suspect it'll be a great time.

Very happy they did well with it!
Respect to the player wallet is of utmost importance.

Love the middle finger to Xbox and Nintendo for demanding everything be entirely overpriced.

Fair plays well

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for October 2025?

Sketti

Alan wake 2 LETS GOOOOO!
it's high up on my wishlist and this is such a a win imo
Cocoon I already played and is one of my all time favorite puzzle games. Made me feel really smart (good design has that effect) and has better pacing than anything else in the genre.
Me and my daughter will no doubt have a minimum of 5-10 hrs of laugh out loud fun w GS3.
I haven't had a personal 3/3 in ages.
Count me signed back up!

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for August 2025 Announced

Sketti

@ILikeStake not if you get better at the parry mechanic and have some patience learning movesets to overcome the obstacles. Granted hard work isn't fun for many. It having a very easy mode now should help get rid of most frustrations tbh.
Give it another go, I say.
