Although offline gets rid of a major aspect of the game (enemies being players etc), im actually kind of stoked to be able to play offline. Maybe I'll feel more inspired to do more runs when there aren't maps just being guarded by long time players trolling.
@springer17 I HATE atlus so much for this very reason. Not buying any games that aren't definitive and 2+ years old on steep discount ever again from them.
Money down the drain bc I don't give money to companies who hold up two middle fingers in front of my face the entire time I'm using their product.
@DogPark this is a huge mistake with the persona etc series as they add 30+ hours of main story content and integrate mechanics etc throughout the whole game that aren't there in base version. It's no add on. It's essential, and often has the true ending of the story included, meaning you get stiffed on the whole experience unless you get the definitive edition. It's incredibly insulting to the player base to bait and switch 100% of your games
Yea, after getting burned by them ... 4 times w 3 (twice there), 4, 5, and smt 5.... Yea I just wait until they come out w the final version instead of wasting my money on an inferior version at launch. They shoot their own feet and it's wild they're just now noticing those results.
@Megabeenz you call that measley list of nothings proof of solid meta progression? You're high. That's garbage and most of that list isn't progressing anything.
It's one thing, tiny weapon perks. That's pretty much it. Oh and a melee/grapple eventually.
Absolutely pitiful stuff.
It's a pretty game w good moment to moment gameplay and the worst roguelike ever made. (Not counting no budget/asset shlop)
@Megabeenz you truly didn't even read a single word I wrote if all you got was "subpar game".
I said it's a terrible roguelike, the genre It belongs to, bc it is the absolute worst roguelike ever made.
The point of that genre is meta progression. Returnal has none. That's not a fun challenge, it's tedium as nauseum, and I enjoy difficult games that respect my time and money. Returnal does not do that.
That's a subpar experience for a roguelike.
Again, moment to moment gameplay has gotten enough flies eating the crap, but I'm mostly excited for their next game, as they've mentioned they didn't leave out the most important aspect of their game genre like they did w returnal.
Solas should be fun! And the game in this article also looks like a great slice of variety in the pie.
Any game doing the returnal formula, but fixing the massive missing piece is likely gonna be actually fun!
I personally hate returnal. I think it's the worst "roguelike" ever made.
I think it's combat had a ton of potential, as the moment to moment feel was smooth as hell.
This looks similar, but in a way that respects the loop/player and also has more variety in the builds and abilities available.
Returnal had a handful of the same guns every single run and it made the repetition really grating for me.
Solas also looks like an improvement.
Let's hope these devs remember the MOST IMPORTANT PART of the genre, meta progression.
If I'm just getting a middle finger and a "git gud" after every run, I'll throw in the bin right next to returnal, and all the other subpar roguelikes and lites out there.
@LiamCroft have not played it, but love the series for the most part. I'm excited to get to it in my massive backlog, and suspect it'll be a great time.
Very happy they did well with it! Respect to the player wallet is of utmost importance.
Love the middle finger to Xbox and Nintendo for demanding everything be entirely overpriced.
Alan wake 2 LETS GOOOOO! it's high up on my wishlist and this is such a a win imo Cocoon I already played and is one of my all time favorite puzzle games. Made me feel really smart (good design has that effect) and has better pacing than anything else in the genre. Me and my daughter will no doubt have a minimum of 5-10 hrs of laugh out loud fun w GS3. I haven't had a personal 3/3 in ages. Count me signed back up!
@ILikeStake not if you get better at the parry mechanic and have some patience learning movesets to overcome the obstacles. Granted hard work isn't fun for many. It having a very easy mode now should help get rid of most frustrations tbh.
Give it another go, I say.
@SeanOhOgain that's crazy Kena is an absolute hidden gem imo. I ***** love that game! To each, but it's no slouch. (I didn't love the final boss but it's fantastic for every other minute) 8/10 for me.
Both game services seem to be absolutely hemorrhaging amazing games and gaining very ***** few the last few months.
I have stopped both my psplus and gamepass until they get at least a title or two I want (atom fall and south of midnight have my interest on gamepass). I have no idea what psplus may add. Ive seen zero games I want or haven't played for a few months now, other than lost records, which took a whopping single afternoon to play the available episode in. It was good, but I have nothing else on the service for me.
I'll see these suckers when they get better libraries (for my tastes) together.
Veilgard was a good chunk down my list of games, but getting it for free means I'll check it out much sooner! And I like sonic enough to play around for a handful of nostalgia hours. AND I grew up on and will absolutely blast through a good selection of the TMNT stuff.
A 3/3 keep for me is rare. Could it have been better? Yea it can always be better. That's how life works. Am I completely cool with these to keep this month? Absolutely
Temtem seems interesting to try out def want to check out the aliens game. Mortem gave it decent praise.
And of course there's always the one game I JUST finished bc they're literally watching my playlist so they make sure they only give away things i own outside the small offerings.
Masses? I wouldn't call 20k concurrent the masses.
And I doubt they will have added all the fun back.
Thinking their meta was more important than our fun means they truly don't get it.
They had it and squandered it.
I will never be the thing again, as it only burnt hot for a few months before they torched themselves.
I haven't played since the PSN bs. I would like to return, but unless they unnerf ***** to the point where people can play solo and have fun too, in just gonna leave it on the proverbial shelf.
I grew up as a jrpg kid, but after my first taste, soulslikes/lites/etc became what I love most.
There could never be enough of them and I never even begin to feel fatigue for the genre, as there are constant fresh takes on every aspect of the game as well as genre blending to oft decent results.

Re: These 13+ PS5, PS4, and PS Plus Games Are Coming Out Next Week (1st-7th December)
Fairly decent line up
The essential tier getting 5 games is awesome.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for November 2025?
All stuff I've played or have zero interest in.
A zero game month for me.
Time to take a month off!

Fair plays well
Re: Metaphor: ReFantazio One-Year Anniversary Event Announced, 'Special Message' Teased
If they hit me with that "but it all again so you can play the dlc" I'm just gonna abandon this dev completely. It's ridiculous and greedy and scummy.
Anything else I'm totally excited for.

Re: Tales of Xillia Remastered's Gameplay Improvements Make It More Than a Graphics Upgrade
Nice! I'll give it a go when it's on a decent sale! Or on a subscription
Re: These 5+ New PS5, PS4 Games Are Coming Out This Week (4th-10th August)
Mafia looks solid! I'll wait for a sale or reviews, but I played the other three and enjoyed them at those times.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for August 2025 Announced
Lies of p! Funny I just finished all achievements last month on PC and had already done so on Xbox.
I think this means I need to get the platinum for it too!
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for July 2025?
Diablo games bore me.
Jusa t I've played but didn't feel like beating.
Never a big fan of KoF series. Would only get a few hours out of it
Last month was pretty hohum for me as well. Which is why I haven't had ps plus in a few months
Re: Sony's Long Anticipated Lost Soul Aside Has Been Delayed Again on PS5, PC
They listened!!! Thank GOD they didn't attempt to drop on Nightreign day.
I may just get this on launch bc of it tbh.
Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts on Bloodborne, 10 Years Later?
I just want a pc port.
They'll fix everything else and do everything on this list and more through mods in no time.
Just port the damn game!
We know it runs on PC (emulator for now)
Just give it to us!
Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Broke PS Store Sales Records for Ubisoft
I'm balls deep in metaphor refantazio atm but this one is on my radar. I got a copy with my new PC rig like some others.
I assumed it would do at least as well as one of the more recent titles in the series. Those seem to do well. Haters be damned tbh

Embarrassing to be them

Re: Ex-Witcher Dev's Dark Fantasy RPG Dawnwalker Will Be Fully Revealed in January
It sounds like a recipe for another fun game with great visuals, deep story content, and a solid batch of action combat mechanics.
How Witcher like will it be?
I'm fine with more games in that vain.
Count me excited for January. I'll be looking for it!

Re: A New Day, a New Bloodborne PS5 Rumour
Any chance that anything listed above is good. Millions of us having been screaming for it.
Why do they not want money?
Too busy throwing hundreds of millions at live service like braindead morons.
Give.us what we literally want and constantly ask for.
How is this hard?
Re: There's Potential in This Anime-Style PS5 Soulslike, But It Needs Work
It has potential. Let's see if that can capitalize on that. I'd love more animesouls games!
I'm also quite surprised it isn't a more prevalent subgenre of the souls genre.
More weebsouls please!
