I read a few sites full review then I enjoy a glance over metacritic to see if there are any sort of universal issues etc that all reviews agree on.

At the end of the day video games are subjective what one likes the next won’t so you have to try what you are interested in

@themightyant I agree the value is in the eye of the beholder. But I just find there is massive over reaction to a price tag.

If it’s not deemed ‘good’ value then it can simply be ignored

@NEStalgia the sticker price is what it is. It’s either worth it to someone or it isn’t. Whether the upgrade is enough to justify is moot.

My main point was you could see differences in the video and people saying they couldn’t are simply being disingenuous.

@LifeGirl @Dodoo I’ve stated elsewhere I’m not buying it. If it had the disc drive at that price I’d be on the fence.

But value/price are subjective to everyone. What some see in the value of one thing. Someone else doesn’t.

But when people start saying there is no difference etc I just feel like I watched a different video. And as usual many are jumping on it for those important things in life. Internet points.

There are some good ones out there. And fully deserved. It’s harmless.

But honestly if you watched Cernys presentation and couldn’t see the differences between the two then you need to go get your eyes tested.

It’s not worth paying for imo.

It’s very shallow. And a grind. Novelty soon wears off.

On GP its worth a try

I was willing to pay £630 with a disc drive. Perhaps I’d have done £650. But I was expecting only 1tb

@NEStalgia with PC people also conveniently forget the hundreds and potentially thousands of £/$ of game libraries built up also.

If people won’t fork out £700-800 for a pro (so a new console every 4years) they sure as sh*t ain’t paying thousands upfront for a good gaming rig

@IOI im not excusing anything. I’ve stated several times across several threads it’s expensive. I gain nothing and lose nothing by them having the pro.

But beyond that the ‘abuse’ term needs to be levelled at literally every company out there. Because nothing is coming down.

I think they could have done a couple of options here.

2tb discless £700

1tb with disc drive £700.

May have ‘looked’ a better deal. I was expecting £630-50 with a drive tbh (at 1tb)

Or the pro is a niche machine, that will sell just a couple of million. The 6 will (most likely) sell 10’s of millions. Reducing the cost. (Evonomies if scale)

Too many people just reading the headline number and forgetting the rest. The poll on the site shows around 10% early interest which would be a good uptake imo.

It’s totally optional as is the Edge or Portal, that both seem to have sold well.

Oh and to put it into perspective when they say it’s expensive etc, it’s going to last you 4years+.

Most other hobbies/interests are far more expensive.

Driving, golf, football, cricket. Cinema, nights out, theme parks or a holiday to name a few

Yes the price is too high. £700 with a disc drive (plus bigger storage) would have been better.

However. The reactions. My god are people pathetic.

It’s not designed as a mass seller. It’s for a niche audience.

Gamers have been whining for fps and graphics - Sony give them the option that is less hassle than an PC and they still bitch about it.

It also leaves Sony with the most powerful console, all the comparisons are going to be the Pro v X.

Then people are making it out like it’s replacing the OG ps5. If it’s too much, just stick with your ps5. - I wanted it, but at this price I don’t see the value so I’ll just use my OG ps5 and not worry about it.

@themightyant if it had the disc drive at 700 with the extra storage, it probably would’ve been a fair price.

But that extra for the disc drive is the killer for many.

@Member_the_game but the ps6 is going to be the default console. They will make and sell far more (brings down costs, economies of scale)

The Pro is probably going to sell 5million max (unless future price drops) so more expensive to manufacture.

But why are people suddenly now thinking it was for the masses. It never ever was.

I was interested. The price stopped that.

It’s a platformer. Was never going to sell Spider-Man numbers.

But compared to other platformers I think it will do just fine.

It’s a fantastic game. And just makes you smile.

He told people to get through the hard times - as most here will have lost a job, and we retrain or we find something to get us through to pay the bills - and then he hopes that it will pick up again.

Pushsquare has been very disappointing with headlines this last week imo.

People seem almighty mad that Sony are giving them an OPTION to play on a more powerful console.

Anybody would think they were forcing you to buy the thing.

You can still stick to your ps4/5.

No because Astro bot came first.

And I’ve since been hearing people having issues.

But definitely playing at some point

At the end of the day it’s a minor little nod to his game, amongst many many more. His reaction is also way over the top.
