For years ‘gamers’ have been saying I want fps and graphics. I want XYZ.

Sony gives them the option. ‘Gamers’ there’s no difference.

In general people are going to have to start looking at subscriptions.

Look how many say I’ll wait for it to hit plus/gp. Or I’m glad I waited for it to hit a sub as I wasn’t sure on it etc.

For me this is what is starting to cause issues. There’s so much choice on subscriptions they don’t need to pay £70 or whatever.

Starfield only had 13million Players, not even sales (this was on a graphic few months ago) and that’s for a tentpole AAA first party studio.

SE saying nothing is hitting targets, gamers are just spending less on new purchases.

And casuals are throwing it at micro transactions. - and then people wonder why Sony want a slice.

If it sells 10% of total lifetime ps5 sales I can imagine Sony would be happy enough.

@LifeGirl i genuinely don’t think this was testing it. It wouldn’t make sense to do it with out of date stuff. Because that’s not really testing anything if everything ‘added’ is messy.

I do agree ads will come. Once one does it the other will follow.

Sites should have a duty to not post articles on scams.

If they didn’t raise the price it would mean anyone could get the new version for £25. So yeah it makes sense. But to counter that it has been given away for free too.

Thank god PC owners only probably have -

MS, steam, epic, battle net, Bethesda, SE, Ubisoft, EA, take2(r*) plus streaming subs, phone contracts.

@SeanOhOgain unfortunately at the minute there seems to be a lot of hot takes on the site where there is an immediate article put up without much actual thought around the whole situation. And misses so much context.

When they stop and think before the article is written there is usually some very good points in there.

When you are selling 10million plus on your main console the numbers are always going to be pretty low 12-24months later.

Not to mention the fact it’s a sequel and they always perform worse in sales/play through etc.

The play anywhere etc currently isn’t working.

Subscription has stalled (not just for ms but Sony also). Most GP users are still on console. So to boost those numbers they currently need to be selling consoles.

Now I’m not saying MS are doomed but it shows why they are heading multiplatform and most likely why ‘Xbox’ will be rebranded as MS gaming’

Horizon/last of us/ until dawn I understand because of Sony saying they want to boost IP outside of games.

So having a brand new shiny horizon to run on a pro/ps5 when the new series (should have) released makes commercial sense. To bring in new players.

If Days gone is true, that is one I can’t understand. Because there is no tie in or second game.

Article also doesn’t touch on the fact that Sony have just let another company use one of there IPs in freedom wars, maybe this will become part of the strategy for things like killzone/wipeout etc.

So yeah I understand the logic behind some (whether I’m interested or not) and my general opinion is that I’d rather new games over remasters/makes.
