Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Reveal Trailer Is Already the Most Disliked in Series History

PrettyPawsome

@Callmegil well I'm not a fan of the series myself so I can't really say too much other than what I'm seeing whilst perched up on my grey fence here, so I won't pretend to know everything about the series (played a few of them but not all etc), but one of the arguments I do see thrown about is that the AC series has generally had a protagonist that has been faithful to the region...granted they do have the female character too which is great, I would have thought though, like many others, that they would have gone for someone that was also notable but native to Japan I guess, as has been standard for the series? Like I said, not a font of knowledge when it comes to AC, my head only has space for Gundam and Mad Max mostly, so if I'm wrong there, correct me.

I too prefer discussing stuff properly because at the end of the day, when it comes to stuff like this, buzzwords and accusations get thrown about in all directions and nobody can actually have a real discussion once it gets to that point.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Reveal Trailer Is Already the Most Disliked in Series History

@Callmegil strange, the people that were giving genuine and honest reasons, as well as myself, don't actually have ulterior motives...you seem to be looking for racism here where there isn't any, or assuming that everyone who isn't too keen on this game has the exact same mindset as each other. Not saying that there aren't any racists online etc hating on it, but the people here have listed valid reasons but sure, equate everything to racism and "feelings"...have not even mentioned my feelings on this at all, my comment was clearly put across as a fence sitter watching both sides go at each other, I even said so...

Why the hell does everything have to be so black and white these days, good or bad, with us or against us, doesn't seem like anyone is allowed to have any views or opinions that lie in a middle ground. Stuff like "WE don't have to take into account your feelings" is exactly what I'm on about, speaking to me as if I'm on the opposite side to you or something...

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Reveal Trailer Is Already the Most Disliked in Series History

PrettyPawsome

What an absolute mess of a comment thread. You have loads of people calling anyone who speaks out against this in anyway a racist, and you have a few people giving decent reasons as to why people have issues with the game, even the Japanese who are upset about WAY more than just the characters etc...and then those calling anything and everything as racist are ignoring all the reasons and just claiming more racism when plenty of honest and decent reasons as to why it's not racism, have been given by a few here.

Wouldn't be surprised if I'm now a racist because of my comment or some rubbish.

Not everything is racism believe it or not people, maybe listen to people's concerns and reasons instead of endlessly retorting with "but he was real therefore you are racist!".

Just trying to be a voice of common sense and reason here.

Re: Ubisoft's Free-to-Play Shooter XDefiant Has No Platinum in Pretty Weak PS5 Trophy List

PrettyPawsome

I feel like I'm in a small camp, but I never really cared for trophies or achievements in games, to me, completing the game WAS the achievement, and for multiplayer stuff, the focus was only ever on having fun.

What I miss the most is when you used to be able to unlock extras or new outfits/weapons/stuff by playing through a game or meeting certain requirements...but DLC's in general sorta killed a lot of that stuff off.

I don't think it's that I don't like trophies etc, I think it's more that a ton of games give you trophies for doing the most basic thing that it almost feels insulting sometimes, like getting a trophy for creating a load out in a shooter, or completing a short tutorial. Walk your character forward, well done! have a trophy! Exaggerated obviously but you get what I mean, those types, I will admit there is a sense of satisfaction when you get a trophy that was actually tricky or challenging to get, so I can understand the appeal.

Re: Rockstar's GTA+ Membership Putting Its Price Up

PrettyPawsome

@LifeGirl some of us have principles at least, I never preorder, never buy day one, and when companies start taking the piss....I just avoid their products, even something like gta6.
Just wish others would do the same. The only language these companies understand is money.

Re: Two Star Wars Outlaws Expansions Will Arrive After PS5 Launch

PrettyPawsome

@Digit2021 I'd hold off though and see what state the game releases in, and if you can wait a couple of months, you'll very likely find this for much cheaper.

Unisoft seems to be getting very greedy lately, I should probably start saving for The Division 3 now so that I'll be able to afford the £159 base edition and £50 season pass in 2 years time 😂

Re: $70 Games Are Just a Phase, Believes Saber Interactive CEO

PrettyPawsome

I just wish there was more focus on shipping out complete games, instead of the constant focus on what they can charge. Fed up with games coming out in broken/half finished messes with content held back to be sold back to you as dlc etc.

I never buy games around release anymore because of this, so the price has usually dropped a lot by then. Just a bit of patience is needed.

Re: Take-Two Will Acquire Borderlands Dev Gearbox Entertainment

PrettyPawsome

@NEStalgia As a long time fan of Alien, I'm still bitter...an Aliens game should practically make itself, and would do really well if it had any effort put into. What annoyed me mostly was that he got away with it I think, Sega should have ruined him for stealing the funds and using them for Borderlands 3, but nothing came of it in the end, unless something was settled behind the scenes. Either way, Pitchford can sod off! lol

Re: Helldivers 2's Galactic War Effort Undermined by Bug

PrettyPawsome

@commentlife Had the same happen, very frustrating, like you said, great game when it works but the issues are getting a bit tedious so I've gone back to playing other stuff for now until a few more fixes come in to hopefully sort these bugs out. Just needed a bit longer in the oven, like most games these days, but it'll get there.

@ShogunRok Aye, the guy was a legend, he's responsible for a lot of the happy memories from my younger days, and he's the guy that got me into drawing in the first place, never met him but if I did I'd really want to say thanks, for everything, feels gutting knowing he's gone, but he certainly won't be forgotten!

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League?

PrettyPawsome

@tameshiyaku Aye, it really looks like they took 1 step forward and 10 steps back in regards to the art direction. Not a game for me either way, so won't be supporting this, seems like Rocksteady lost some talented artists over the years though.

The only looter shooter that ever grabbed and held my attention was The Division 1 and 2, still enjoy them even now, but usually not a fan of this type of game.

Re: You Should Get 'Comfortable' with Not Owning Your Games, Suggests Ubisoft Exec

PrettyPawsome

@JbumiSandra Same, I'm a collector, heck I still have all my C64 games still!

Looks like Ubisoft can get comfortable with losing sales if this is to be their stance. I don't support companies that take on this mentality and I'm likely not alone in that. I actually like owning what I buy rather than having some company dictate for me...so sorry Ubisoft, looks like the digital licence giving you access to my wallet just got removed from service, guess you can't have my money now!

Re: UK's GAME Stores to Stop Accepting Trade-Ins from Next Month

PrettyPawsome

I don't know about others, but where I live, we had many games shops in town years and years ago, a few small ones...and we had two "Gamestation" stores and two GAME stores...in fact, one of the GAME stores was right nextdoor to one of the Gamestation stores...at some point, GAME replaced the smaller shops and then shortly after, they replaced Game station too. Long story short we had about five GAME stores in my smallish town alone...two of which were right next to each other!

Pretty much all gone now, I don't think they'll be around much longer, or they may even just become an online only seller at some point. Terrible prices and service never helped.

To those mentioning Electronics Boutique, damn I feel old!

Re: Mini Review: Flashback 2 (PS5) - Disastrously Buggy Sequel Diminishes 1992 Classic

PrettyPawsome

What a shame, absolutely love the original, I remember my friend had it on the Amiga but it was in french...and because of that we never got out of the jungle! Once I got it myself on the mega drive and could understand the game, it became one of my faves...even picked up Fade to Black when I found out it was a sequel (imagine my child like disappointment).

Was really looking forward to Flashback 2, sounds like they not only missed the mark, but missed what made Flashback great. It's a real shame because I doubt this is something that they knocked out quickly as a cash grab as most people who remember Flashback fondly are over a certain age, I'd wager most people under that age bracket would have never heard of the original. Either way I'll likely give it a go myself at some point but I'll keep my expectations low 😔

Re: Former PlayStation Boss Shawn Layden Says It's 'Criminal' Industry Isn't Properly Preserving Games

PrettyPawsome

@nomither6 Might have been a powerful machine, but no good when it was an absolute nightmare to code for etc, that was common knowledge back then and there were a fair few cross platform titles that suffered because of this. I do agree that it's strengths were underutilized and it was mostly a few late gen 1st party games that really took advantage of it because they knew how to get the most out of it by then.

Re: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum's Dismal Reception Prompts Apology from Daedalic

PrettyPawsome

@rawzeku Agreed. I'm old enough to remember when games worked on release and were tested before they were released. These days they use the internet to just patch things up later. This trend of games releasing in terrible states seems to be getting more common. Seems like they all release their games and then use those paying customers as the testers. Getting really tired of it. Whatever happened to optimization too, seems to be another lost science to modern Devs.

Re: Blizzard Is 'Really Confident' Diablo 4 Won't Break on Launch Day

PrettyPawsome

@IAmAshCohen17 Exactly my thoughts, fingers crossed for them, but games like this normally have release day woes, here's hoping they are on top of it...not played a Diablo game since D2 and have been craving it, kinda...so hoping for a smooth launch. Granted, I never buy games on release anymore after being burned too many times.
