Re: Loads of PlayStation Concert Dates Cancelled Amid Rumours of Low Ticket Sales

Paper_Yoshi

It's cost. Simple as that. I am absolutely the audience for these kind of concerts and I've been to many over the years. I'm delighted that video game music has risen in popularity and is more accessible than ever. But live music, live performance is becoming obscenely expensive for many. We all have limits and spending potentially £100 plus on a 2-3 hour experience (plus travel and meals and perhaps accommodation if you are far away) is just not worth it anymore. No matter how much I love the music.

Re: Sony Scales Back PlayStation Gigs as Some Dates Are Cancelled or Moved

I'm not attending these concerts and I'm pretty much the target audience. I absolutely love video game music, film scores, orchestral music etc. This stuff is what I want to listen to.

But the cost of live music (on this scale) is so high that I just can't justify the money on a one night only event (even if it will be spectacular). There are simply too many other things and the cost of living bites.

Re: FromSoftware Boss Puts Elden Ring Difficulty Discourse to Bed, Once and For All

Respect to Miyazaki for making the games he wants to make. With all the focus group tested, corporate meddling that goes into media these days it is honestly refreshing.

Having said that, the souls games just aren't for me. I simply don't have the time to repeat a frustrating boss encounter over and over until I get good. There are so many other games I want to try with my limited time. And when I have given these games a try I've not found the "rush" when you finally topple a boss to be worth the effort to get there.

Would I play them if there were an "easy" mode? Definitely - I'd still appreciate the games art, story, music, world and characters without the tiresome repetition. But I get why it isn't there and I'm happy with that. There is a lot of other stuff to play!

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Ending?

Paper_Yoshi

The ending was a massive letdown. Completely undermined the emotional impact of the original for completely unnecessary multiverse BS.

I've been extremely forgiving with the changes Square made regarding the whispers and fate but if there was moment not to mess up it was this one. And they completely blew it.

The music was absolutely breathtaking though so there was that at least.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PS5 Demo Patch Available Now

Paper_Yoshi

Given how important first impressions from a demo can be for securing a sale I find it weird that Square enix would release a demo that then needed patching. If it could be patched this quickly why not wait and release the demo now and not risk putting some folks off and lose a sale?

Re: The Order 1886's Dev Ripped Apart by Facebook Owner After Acquisition

Paper_Yoshi

The Order 1886 was one of the first games I had for PS4. Really enjoyed it despite some downsides. The world, setting and characters were fantastic and it was screaming out to be the start of a new franchise. I've played through it a couple of times over the years (an advantage of a short game).

Doesn't Sony own the IP? Perhaps sequel development could be shifted to another studio?

Re: Final Fantasy 16 Goes Gold Well Ahead of June Release Date

Paper_Yoshi

Such a contrast to FFXV. Just recently went all in on a play through of XV. Played the main game and all the DLC throughout, watched the movie, anime, shorts and even read the Dawn of the future book. All in chronological order. I've got to say, when you include everything it's actually a pretty good Final fantasy world and story. But the way it was released was so broken and messy its no wonder it isn't highly regarded in the series

So glad to hear XVI has gone smoothly and hope the whole experience is tighter and more complete
