It's cost. Simple as that. I am absolutely the audience for these kind of concerts and I've been to many over the years. I'm delighted that video game music has risen in popularity and is more accessible than ever. But live music, live performance is becoming obscenely expensive for many. We all have limits and spending potentially £100 plus on a 2-3 hour experience (plus travel and meals and perhaps accommodation if you are far away) is just not worth it anymore. No matter how much I love the music.
It'll be interesting to see how this develops. More of the world, characters and gameplay is welcome. However, they won't be able to use the twist again which gave the world and the story so much intrigue.
Excited to see what they can do though. I absolutely loved the game.
I'm excited to see how this turns out. I've been wanting something like this since playing the original SNES game back in the 90s. If it's of the same quality as Alien Isolation then this will be a huge deal for me.
I really hope the moment to moment gameplay holds up and they make the dinosaurs scary and the player underpowered.
I'm not attending these concerts and I'm pretty much the target audience. I absolutely love video game music, film scores, orchestral music etc. This stuff is what I want to listen to.
But the cost of live music (on this scale) is so high that I just can't justify the money on a one night only event (even if it will be spectacular). There are simply too many other things and the cost of living bites.
Looking forward to this. Weirdly, AoD was the first Tomb raider game I actually completed back in the day. I don't remember much about it other than some obnoxious loading times in Paris. I'm really interested to see what I think of it now all these years later.
Respect to Miyazaki for making the games he wants to make. With all the focus group tested, corporate meddling that goes into media these days it is honestly refreshing.
Having said that, the souls games just aren't for me. I simply don't have the time to repeat a frustrating boss encounter over and over until I get good. There are so many other games I want to try with my limited time. And when I have given these games a try I've not found the "rush" when you finally topple a boss to be worth the effort to get there.
Would I play them if there were an "easy" mode? Definitely - I'd still appreciate the games art, story, music, world and characters without the tiresome repetition. But I get why it isn't there and I'm happy with that. There is a lot of other stuff to play!
The ending was a massive letdown. Completely undermined the emotional impact of the original for completely unnecessary multiverse BS.
I've been extremely forgiving with the changes Square made regarding the whispers and fate but if there was moment not to mess up it was this one. And they completely blew it.
The music was absolutely breathtaking though so there was that at least.
How is this as a solo player? I've got a couple of friends interested in checking it out but as often happens, people drift on to other things. Just wondering if it's worth playing if I'm eventually likely to spend more time solo than with friends
I was interested in this and was going to pick it up after I've finished FF7 Rebirth. Glad I didn't bother as it sounds like it hasn't lived up to expectations.
Given how important first impressions from a demo can be for securing a sale I find it weird that Square enix would release a demo that then needed patching. If it could be patched this quickly why not wait and release the demo now and not risk putting some folks off and lose a sale?
I'd like to see some DLC focussed on Jill. Really like her character and design but I thought her treatment in the main story was pretty poor. She barely talks to anyone other than Clive and seemed to be ignored by most of the wider cast.
The Order 1886 was one of the first games I had for PS4. Really enjoyed it despite some downsides. The world, setting and characters were fantastic and it was screaming out to be the start of a new franchise. I've played through it a couple of times over the years (an advantage of a short game).
Doesn't Sony own the IP? Perhaps sequel development could be shifted to another studio?
Personally really don't like this. Feels completely inappropriate for the look and tone of the game. And just isn't to my tastes.
Uematsu did it far better with Eyes on Me, Melodies of Life and Isn't it Beautiful? Those were orchestral and melodic and fit the tone and themes of the games they were part of. This just sounds generic.
Such a contrast to FFXV. Just recently went all in on a play through of XV. Played the main game and all the DLC throughout, watched the movie, anime, shorts and even read the Dawn of the future book. All in chronological order. I've got to say, when you include everything it's actually a pretty good Final fantasy world and story. But the way it was released was so broken and messy its no wonder it isn't highly regarded in the series
So glad to hear XVI has gone smoothly and hope the whole experience is tighter and more complete

Re: Sony's Live-Action The Legend of Zelda Movie Will Launch 26th March, 2027
I hate to be pessimistic but I just can't see how live action Zelda is going to avoid coming across as cheesy and camp.
I'll still watch it of course. But really, the appeal of Zelda has always been the gameplay and the exploration, not the narrative.

Oh well. Back to the GTA taxi missions it is.

Re: PS Plus Extra, Premium Lose Another Seven Games Soon
Disappointed that Civ VI is leaving. I sink a lot of hours into that but on and off between other games as bit of a palette cleanser
Re: Waiting for SEGA's New Crazy Taxi? Fill the Time with Taxi Life, Hitting PS5 in March
I genuinely loved the taxi missions in GTA. (More than I should admit!). Might pick this up

Re: Poll: What's the Best PlayStation Startup Sequence?
PS1 is iconic. But PS3 with it's orchestra tuning up was my favourite.

It's the first "retro" console of the HD era. Time is marching on
