Nevermind Bethesda or Id developed/published games, I'm never buying any Microsoft published/developed game ever.
I won't support a corporation that wanted to create a monopoly (and thankfully failed at doing so) in the gaming industry by going on an acquisition spree and now has to track-back to save face.
I don't think Uncharted 4 (or Lost Legacy) had true open-world areas. IIRC, both games had hub-like areas that allowed a player to tackle objectives in any order that they wished.
I'm glad Mafia moving into the tight linear design approach, as playing Mafia 1 (both the original on PC and the PS4 Remake) 2, the open-worlds for both games were basically just a set dressing without any meaningful sidequests or activities to complete.
The original Switch is way over-priced in the territory that I live in, and I suspect the Switch 2 will be the same.
I've never been interested in the Switch due to it being over-priced where I live and the games being quite expensive as well (relative to PS4 and XB1 games).
I also think I'm quite "invested" in the PlayStation ecosystem at the moment, having quite a large Digital Library of games makes it difficult to considering switching to a different console (my secondary console is the PS Vita, which is quite sad I know...)
Personally (and I might be in the minority here) I'm not supporting anything that Microsoft releases on the PS5 purely based on their past actions involving the acquisition of Bethesda and Activision-Blizzard.
I view it as an attempt by Microsoft to literally buy up the gaming industry, and it looks like it has backfired on them spectacularly.
I'm not advocating for people to boycott Microsoft's games on the PS5.
I would just like Microsoft to have their "Chickens Coming Home to Roost" moment regarding their idiotic acquisitions.
Sony is still the Owner of the Patapon and Everbody's Golf IP, they've basically sold the right to make games based on those IPs to Bandai Namco.
Sony remains the Owner (Licensor) while Bandai Namco (Licensee) will give Sony a cut of the revenue that they earn with the two games they're developing.
The license for the Yakuza IP is probably far cheaper if it's for a limited contractual period, so this is most likely the reason that the DLC has a time limit placed on it.
This is the first AC game that I've been interested in since Origins.
I'll definitely purchase this (and Origins) in the future if I ever get the free time to do so.
The last AC game I played was AC 3 back in 2014, so it's been more than 10 years since I've played an AC game and I feel like Shadows will be a great way to return to the franchise.
I originally played KOTOR back on PC in 2003. I tried playing it again using my tablet via the free-game giveaway by the Mobile Epic Store...I didn't last 5 minutes and uninstalled the game.
Playing it on a tablet, after playing on PC originally, was an awful experience.
I'm really hoping this remake is released...eventually.
They're probably using actual money so that they can earn a few bucks in interest on the holding period that they'll have the money until they refund their punters.
Ubisoft, please consider a Far Cry 2 remake, fix up some of the glaring issues (the constant malaria and checkpoints being reset after you clear them) and you'll start clawing back some of the goodwill you've lost this past decade or so.
Sony should have just released Factions 2 as part of The Last of Us 2 in a similar way that Factions 1 was integrated with The Last of Us 1. Just a plain and regular multiplayer mode, with a few cosmetic micro-transactions sprinkled on top.
Xbox should emulate Sega and humbly exit the hardware business and focus on becoming a software developer and publisher (which is what Microsoft is) and focus on getting a decent ROI for the massive amount of the gaming industry they bought up.
Also, it doesn't even feel like the current generation has really started properly...nearly five years after current gen consoles were released.
Why would the PS5 Fans want to play Forza Horizon 5 or any game for that matter?
Aren't these Fans busy with keeping the PS5 cool and making sure it doesn't overheat?
Or...are they slowly gaining sentience (thanks Phil) and now plotting to sabotage Sony by diverting us all to support Microsoft by purchasing their titles?
It's so satisfying seeing how Microsoft's failed gambit to buy up nearly all the publishers and developers in existence (hyperbole I know) has failed so spectacularly.
Here's to Phil the Liar, may he continue to fail upwards forever more!
I love the Yakuza/Like A Dragon series, but I just can't see myself playing this. It's premise is just way too ridiculous and I've grown tired of the real-time combat system.
Still hope it does well commercially, as it's a fantastic series.
I really wish Clap Hanz released a new Everybody's Golf for the PS5.
I played the demo for PGA 2K25, and while it seems like a great game of golf, it's just so sterile and devoid of fun when compared to the Everybody's Golf series.
I still regret selling my physical copy of Everybody's Golf on the PS4.
Nice to see another fan of the Midnight Club series. MCLA is one of my favourite arcade racers of all time.
@Nakatomi_Uk
The thing that puts me off about FH5 is that, apparently, you're basically given cars and don't really have to earn them. Feels way too much like NFS: Most Wanted (2012).
Marvel Rivals might be raking in a ton of revenue, but since it's a licensed property, the most important metric is the net profit that the Publisher/Developer makes after settling the licensing fees and paying over the royalties to the House of Mouse.
I do think using recognised and well-known IP for new GaaS titles is the way to go, since it's such a high-risk venture. I think this is where Concord faltered, as even though it was an original IP, it wasn't appealing at all.
Looks like an ideal title for small children and casual gamers.
I can't remember the last Lego game that I've played (think it was Lego Harry Potter on the PS3), but they all suffer from simplistic game design and gameplay.
Again, I think these games are meant for young children, so I'm definitely not the target audience for it.

Re: Even More PS5 Price Increases Being Considered by Sony
Looks like I'm done with gaming in the foreseeable future until the Trumpanzee Troop Leader is out of office.
I'm content with sticking with my PS5 and working through PS5 and PS4 games for a long, long time.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Oblivion Remastered?
I've never played Oblivion in the past, so I'm not remotely interested in the Remaster/Remake.
I'm hoping that, somehow someway, Morrowind will be remade, as that's the first Elder Scrolls game I played on PC way back in 2003.
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Thoughts on Potential $80 PS5 Games?
No change for me, I'll continue to be 3 - 5 years behind in terms of games I'm currently playing.

Re: Monster Hunter Wilds (PS5) - A Timeless Formula Refined to Near Perfection
A score of 9 seems really generous considering the Negatives listed in the Review.
Performance Issues and Low Textures should really bring down the game to an 8 at best, and a 6 or 7 at the worst.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii?

Re: Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii (PS5) - Madcap Majima Does the Job
I am a massive fan of the mainline series, but I just can't see myself ever playing this as I don't really have any interest in it.
I'm glad it exists (we all need some Mad Dog of Shimano in our lives) but I'd rather play one of the other "side" games like Judgement.

Re: It Takes Two Film Flailing, Even Josef Fares Is in the Dark
A film adaptation seems like a relatively easy task (assuming it's made using CGI/Animation), so it's quite suprising it's in development hell.
I guess the powers that be in Hollywood don't understand how popular the game is and the goodwill it has due to the developer's support of the title.

Re: Poll: Are You Buying Forza Horizon 5 on PS5?
I'm going to wait for the Motorsport series to be released on the PS5.
The Horizon series doesn't really interest me, unless Microsoft decides to release Forza Horizon 4, which I've read is the best in the series.
Re: Hermen Hulst No Longer PlayStation Co-CEO, Still in Charge of First-Party
I'm not defending Hulst, but I seem to understand that a lot of Sony's obsession with Live Service Games stemmed from Jim Ryan.
I feel like Hulst is copping a lot of the blame that should be directed toward Jim Ryan.
Hulst isn't innocent by any means, but to lay the Live Service disaster at his feet is a bit unfair on him.
