Re: 64% of PS5 Players Are Glad Mafia: The Old Country Isn't Open World

N1ghtW1ng

@Cornpop76

I don't think Uncharted 4 (or Lost Legacy) had true open-world areas. IIRC, both games had hub-like areas that allowed a player to tackle objectives in any order that they wished.

I'm glad Mafia moving into the tight linear design approach, as playing Mafia 1 (both the original on PC and the PS4 Remake) 2, the open-worlds for both games were basically just a set dressing without any meaningful sidequests or activities to complete.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Oblivion Remastered?

N1ghtW1ng

I've never played Oblivion in the past, so I'm not remotely interested in the Remaster/Remake.

I'm hoping that, somehow someway, Morrowind will be remade, as that's the first Elder Scrolls game I played on PC way back in 2003.

Re: Reaction: Switch 2 Looks Solid But the Many PS5, PS4 Ports Won't Spook Sony Yet

N1ghtW1ng

The original Switch is way over-priced in the territory that I live in, and I suspect the Switch 2 will be the same.

I've never been interested in the Switch due to it being over-priced where I live and the games being quite expensive as well (relative to PS4 and XB1 games).

I also think I'm quite "invested" in the PlayStation ecosystem at the moment, having quite a large Digital Library of games makes it difficult to considering switching to a different console (my secondary console is the PS Vita, which is quite sad I know...)

Re: Analyst Firm Predicts Some Pretty Unimpressive Sales Numbers for Xbox Ports on PS5

N1ghtW1ng

Personally (and I might be in the minority here) I'm not supporting anything that Microsoft releases on the PS5 purely based on their past actions involving the acquisition of Bethesda and Activision-Blizzard.

I view it as an attempt by Microsoft to literally buy up the gaming industry, and it looks like it has backfired on them spectacularly.

I'm not advocating for people to boycott Microsoft's games on the PS5.

I would just like Microsoft to have their "Chickens Coming Home to Roost" moment regarding their idiotic acquisitions.

Re: Sony Licenses Everybody's Golf to Bandai Namco, Coming to PS5

N1ghtW1ng

@SoulsBourne128

Sony is still the Owner of the Patapon and Everbody's Golf IP, they've basically sold the right to make games based on those IPs to Bandai Namco.

Sony remains the Owner (Licensor) while Bandai Namco (Licensee) will give Sony a cut of the revenue that they earn with the two games they're developing.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Assassin's Creed Shadows?

N1ghtW1ng

This is the first AC game that I've been interested in since Origins.

I'll definitely purchase this (and Origins) in the future if I ever get the free time to do so.

The last AC game I played was AC 3 back in 2014, so it's been more than 10 years since I've played an AC game and I feel like Shadows will be a great way to return to the franchise.

Re: PS5 Console Exclusive Star Wars Game Is Still Alive Allegedly

@Rhaoulos

I originally played KOTOR back on PC in 2003. I tried playing it again using my tablet via the free-game giveaway by the Mobile Epic Store...I didn't last 5 minutes and uninstalled the game.

Playing it on a tablet, after playing on PC originally, was an awful experience.

I'm really hoping this remake is released...eventually.

Re: Could the Next Xbox Get a Head Start on PS6?

N1ghtW1ng

Xbox should emulate Sega and humbly exit the hardware business and focus on becoming a software developer and publisher (which is what Microsoft is) and focus on getting a decent ROI for the massive amount of the gaming industry they bought up.

Also, it doesn't even feel like the current generation has really started properly...nearly five years after current gen consoles were released.

Re: It Takes Two Film Flailing, Even Josef Fares Is in the Dark

N1ghtW1ng

A film adaptation seems like a relatively easy task (assuming it's made using CGI/Animation), so it's quite suprising it's in development hell.

I guess the powers that be in Hollywood don't understand how popular the game is and the goodwill it has due to the developer's support of the title.

Re: Poll: Are You Buying Forza Horizon 5 on PS5?

@AhmadSumadi

Nice to see another fan of the Midnight Club series. MCLA is one of my favourite arcade racers of all time.

@Nakatomi_Uk

The thing that puts me off about FH5 is that, apparently, you're basically given cars and don't really have to earn them. Feels way too much like NFS: Most Wanted (2012).

@anoyonmus

It's always good to have more choices.

Re: Marvel Rivals' First-Month Revenue Shows Sony Should Continue to Pursue Live Service on PS5, PC

N1ghtW1ng

Marvel Rivals might be raking in a ton of revenue, but since it's a licensed property, the most important metric is the net profit that the Publisher/Developer makes after settling the licensing fees and paying over the royalties to the House of Mouse.

I do think using recognised and well-known IP for new GaaS titles is the way to go, since it's such a high-risk venture. I think this is where Concord faltered, as even though it was an original IP, it wasn't appealing at all.

Re: LEGO Horizon Adventures (PS5) - Dull Design Lets Down This Gorgeous Spin-Off

N1ghtW1ng

Looks like an ideal title for small children and casual gamers.

I can't remember the last Lego game that I've played (think it was Lego Harry Potter on the PS3), but they all suffer from simplistic game design and gameplay.

Again, I think these games are meant for young children, so I'm definitely not the target audience for it.

Nice to see a Sony IP in Lego form though.
