Ive only owned one xbox, the original from like 25 years ago....that i bought used. Ive owned every playstation from 1 to 4, and have had many pcs since the early 90s, to give you a bit of background here. I have zero "loyalty" to any one brand or company. Ive been exclusively on pc for about 7 years now, because thats where the value is. All my pcs i have in my house (6) have a hodgepodge mix of parts. I dont foam at the mouth over intel, amd, nvidia, corsair etc. I go with what product offers the best value for the money.
If one company starts going off the rails, i leave and take my money elsewhere. I have a mix of everything to make sure i get every penny i spend out of what i buy, and that goes for everything, not just gaming. My screen name has mopar in it. Has a pic of my 73 chrysler. Do i own any newer chrysler products? No my main driver is a mazda because when i bought my lastest car it offered the best value for my money.

And xbox, at least at the time, even admitted they were pulling out of the "console wars" and were focused more as a publisher, like sega did. They had said many times they dont care where you play, as long as your buying their games or subbing to gamepass. It was no secret that was the direction they were going, and if the rumors are true about their next "console" just being a prebuilt pc thats going to run steam cements that.
Not really sure how that "damages their brand", they are just moving in a different direction. Will it work for them? Who knows. Who really cares. I dont have stock in micorsoft, do you? Do you have a large amount of stock in sony? My guess is no, so i really dont see why you would care whose buying or playing what.

Its 2026. Cross play has been a thing for a decade now. "Console wars" have being going in for over 30 years now. PC gaming is bigger then ever as console player bases are slowly dwindling. @GreywolfinCZ most "cheaters" on pc are either in asian territories, which you can avoid by playing in your region, which you should be doing anyway, or the same immature kids who are console. Also theres cheaters on console as well, yes even without modding your console, and always has been (lag switches, modded controllers and running your console through a pc anyone?).
Also the chances are pretty much 100% that you will be able to turn crossplay off, as is the case in every other crossplay game, to please the whiners.
@truerbluer again, this has to do with quick and sloppy work vs the fact that its coming to pc. The patch should have never released in this state to begin with. This is on sucker punch/sony. They should have never released it until it was ready. If proper testing/QA/programing was followed it would have never been an issue

I would be interested on launch. But it depends on 2 things. What my money is actually gonna look like and if theres gonna be any launch titles worth getting. From what i have seen so far, there are very few launch titles, and for me they are meh. Unless GT7 winds up being a launch title.
A grand is gonna be a hard pill to swallow right now, especially if there isnt anything even worth getting. I say a grand est for console+extra controller+couple years of psplus+theoretically a couple games anyway+my 10% sales tax.

@Netret0120 late to comment but something to keep in mind the last 40GB on the hard drive is never used. So if it looks like you SHOULD have the free space, take 40GB off that and make sure you actually do.

They also aint gonna give away fresh new AAA games that are still selling either, because.... Why? Not to mention sony don't have free reign to give out whatever they want. There are negotiations between the devs and sony they have to do in order to add the games in the 1st place.
Devs aint gonna lose money to make YOU PERSONALLY happy because you want their game for free right now. Thats not how buisness or life works. Everyone needs to just get over themselves and if you dont like whats being given, dont download it. And if it bothers you THAT MUCH then dont renew your plus.
