Re: Suddenly the PS5 Pro Doesn't Look That Expensive Anymore

Midgar777

I picked up a PS5 Pro in the sales. £699 down to about £550~ felt a little too good to pass up on. I've been wanting one for a while, so it's nice to finally get on board. I'm sure the PS6 won't be too far away, but at least I can start saving for that now. God knows what the price will be for the PS6 if Sony haven't pre-empted the supply bottlenecks, but I'm sure they've thought about it.

Re: PS5 Pro Announced, Costs $700 and Out in November

I think it's more attractive to people that:

1. Don't already have a PS5
2. Haven't played any of the games that are getting an upgrade
3. Prefer digital only
4. Have loads of spare cash

Finding someone that can tick all 4 of those will be tricky, that's very niche! A better way of looking at it, is to ask yourself whether you want the PS5 Pro, or to buy 10-12 full price launch games and keep the OG PS5. I know what I'd prefer !

Re: Rumour: PS5 Pro Design Seemingly Leaked

I'm a bit out of the loop on this one. Has there been a confirmation of the spec yet? Like is there a fairly strong case for people with the OG PS5 to buy this, or is it a sweeter deal for people that don't have a PS5 yet?

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Black Myth: Wukong?

I think a 9 is pretty fair when you take into account that it's been made by such a small group. I didn't like the amount of invisible walls, but overall this game is awesome! There's enough depth in terms of build and setup to keep me happy and the amount of secrets and hidden areas is perfect! I'm caring less about missing trophies because I'm looking forward to doing another playthrough. What a game!

Re: Soapbox: PS5 Is Pushing Me Ever Closer to All-Digital

@thefourfoldroot I checked out the prices on CEX too but ended up going with GAME because I was able to use some of the credit to pay off some of the accessories for my PS5 preorder too. With the pandemic situation the convenience of just going into one shop was a more attractive prospect. I got just over £300 so it’s funded a few games for me, the satisfaction of not having to change discs makes it worthwhile. Most of the games I traded in had already been platinum’d and the DLC done so it made sense, not to mention every time I opened my game cupboard about 5-6 fell out like dominoes haha

I can relate to everything you said in this article. At the end of the PS4 era, I traded in my entire physical collection for credit at GAME. I used this to buy lots of digital PSN cards and have since bought AC:Valhalla, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Borderlands 3. I don’t think I’ll get any physical games despite buying the PS5 with the disc drive, I’m gonna see how long I last !

I looked at getting the CX but I already had a standard 1080p 55” Samsung TV. I decided that if I was getting a new TV then I wanted to go up at least one size, but the 65” CX was way too expensive. I ended up getting the 65” C9 (the model before the CX) and it’s honestly amazing too. If anyone is looking for a new TV then don’t overlook this one too!

Re: New PS5 Advert Officially Revealed

Midgar777

@themcnoisy yeah that’s a fair point. I think most people know whether they want it at launch or not, so asking them to save £50 a month for a console isn’t too difficult? If the price reveal is the true deciding factor as to whether you get it at launch (perhaps because you’ve not saved in advance), then it’s more important to know, but even the tightest of budgets can make this happen with a bit of forward planning. I’m only optimistic because I’ve saved already, if I hadn’t, then a £600 console would screw me over and I’d have to wait.

Re: New PS5 Advert Appears via PlayStation Hungary

I struggle to understand why people are that bothered about the price at this stage. We’ve known it’s coming for quite some time so the opportunity to save up has been there. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to know the price, but it’s not a deal breaker for me. I overestimated at £600 and saved that over the past few months so I’m ready. Now it’s a question of will I be able to afford a game in that bracket too...
