Re: Despite Delisting, CDPR Promises Cyberpunk 2077 Players Will Still Receive Patches on PS5, PS4

Maximums4083

while the a.i. is lacking, to call the city lifeless makes me wonder if people are paying attention to what goes on in this city. while i was in the afterlife bar i watched a group of npc's that had nothing to do with the main story or a side quest rush in with a friend that was shot and dying. they spread him out on a pool table as one of the men called someone asking for help patching his friend up. he argued on the phone for about five min while his crew stood by the dying comrade as he passed into the ether. events like this are all over the city if you are willing to slow down. i think the bugs tend to be so immersion breaking that we all play this game with blinders on and the result is missing really cool small details like this. i also have to wonder how many neat scripted sequences are abruptly passed by broken a.i. that tells the whole world to duck and cover whenever your character acts out.

@TheArt i have the game on both ps5 and pc, ps5 looks bland but runs 60fps pc is solid experience but feels un-optimized either way its extremely fun. in both cases at this point the bugs aren't that problematic but some smarter a.i. and more refined crafting system would go a long way. even if it stays the way it is now on these platforms it is a very fun game with a great story and a scope we haven't experienced before

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Promotes 'Great' PS5 Support at Launch

Maximums4083

@Karilyn while ill give you it will be over hyped, (any game with a development cycle of three years + and the track record of CD Project Red would be) but I suspect it will deliver a fun boundary pushing experience. Either way what's the point of pre judging the game before anyone has really sunk any time into it?? Be open minded and you might be surprised !!

Re: PS5 Games Could Cost $10 More Than PS4

Maximums4083

@get2sammyb I think that has more to do with the fluctuation in the vale of European
Money, I worked at a apple store in Manhattan around the begining of last gen and within two years British pound and the euro bounced all over the place in value with the dollar. In the us games have been 60 I think since ps3. Anyway there are a bunch of micro transaction laws in the UK that will probably come down the pike and I suspect it's changing the sport game production formula. Still I never understood why anyone would pay what they do for these sport games? To each their own I guess.

Re: The Last of Us 2 Leaks Apparently Released by Hackers, Not Affiliated with Naughty Dog

Maximums4083

Sony is handling this badly. The leakers are criminals and should be delt with. But copyright striking channels that discuss the leaks is authoritarian . I find it ironic it's always the people who feel the need to push agendas and virtue signal that then punish dissent and criticism. I get it that they worked hard on this but you can't control how people think and feel, if you have a message you want to convey and your in a position to do so you have a responceability to be inclusive and teach not push. It's the difference between art and propaganda and lately so many people have chosen the latter. Then the most privileged of all make these blanketed statements that anyone the disagrees with their choices is a bad person or a biggott. The irony is the same way they feel certain marginalized communities are stereotyped, misjudged and treated like crap is exactly how they react to the the broken hearted fans that expected something they could identify with and love instead finding that the closest thing to identification has been made a stereotyped, misjudged lowley villan. Society is not perfect , there are plenty of foolish dumb and evil people out their, but very few fans cared much about Ellie's sexual preference. What people are upset about is when you pull away the identity political tropes it seems like a plot that pays no attention to the fans expectations. Some times that can be done artfully and the turn out is amazing but in the past few years Everytime we see this pattern we see a franchise we loved die to make a political point that is only taken to heart by the like minded and privileged who then pay themselves on the back for tearing people apart just a little more. I hope this game is a artfully masterpiece... But forgive my skeptisism

Re: The Last of Us 2 Leakers 'Not Affiliated with SIE or Naughty Dog', Sony Confirms

Maximums4083

In a post covid world I trust media even less then government. Even game rags.
I don't like leaks but this is one everyone should check out. The level of political agenda pushed on the player not only makes me not want to buy, but question Sony as a publisher. To be clear, I'm not talking about Ellie's sexuality, I have no problems with that and if anything I find it interesting given who she is. It's not the message that turn me off, it a terrible story that thinks by pushing "woke" tropes on the player it will be as influential as the first game without having a decent plot. It continuously attacks different political views that the director thinks he understands. To be clear the director of this game helped get a actual women (the writer behind the uncharted series) canned because she disagreed with the focus of this game. There is a way to bring new ideas artistically into a project without alienating a huge part of your fan base that supported and helped you achieve your status. I'm sick of the woke political division, we need to respect each other and learn to compromise on both sides. Projects like this don't teach they push, pull and tear.

Re: Round Up: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Reviews Are Positive and Unfinished

Maximums4083

@shogunrok while your entitled to your opinion you do seem to be really harsh on your acessment. When I look at your review compared to others the biggest difference I see is expectation . It seems like your a big fan of the source material and you wanted a big aaa title. This is namco bandi and cyberconnet2 , going in I'm expecting something closer to the quality of a "tales" game then "God of war". I think allot of people wanted this to be a open world and it just is not, I don't think it was supposed to be. bandi namco and cc2 does not really have the assets to do a decent open world (and if they did it would be far more "PS3" then this.) The game needs some polish (some textures are awefull). It has beautifully recreated cutseens. to nitpick the statick camera or the voiceless side content seems over reaching. I'm impressed by the level design as I feel it was trying to be closer to jrps then GTA but needed to find a way to translate to locomotion in dbz, the solution was scale so instead of walking through a empty pasture fighting randoms you fly above a empty pasture fighting randoms. The problem this creates is a much bigger emptier space, they try and solve this with orb collection and for some this works but it feels like a empty small open sandbox. In the end that's the problem when making one type of media from another, you only have two choices...fit the premise in a existing layout or design a layout for the content. With the team, assets and development time given dbz kakarot archives something special that sits as high as other namco bandi jrpg projects. For this dbz fan(so far) I give it 8 (although I'm only 15 hours in) but I could see it scoring lower if your either not a dbz fan or such a big fan nothing short of a first party aaa title will do it justice. P.s. the only reason I'm even calling all this out is because it's not so great to criticize others opinions (gamebible) to boast your own. Thought maybe I'd show you. Lol
But no Ill will.

Re: Sony's Flogging Days Gone Harder Than a Freaker Who Keeps Getting Back Up

Maximums4083

Days gone looks excellent. Unfortunately it does have a few unfair challenges the most obvious being that both zombies and open world survival have been done to death. The stranger or should I say more infuriating part of it is it chooses a narrative that our absurdly biased media (looking at you Kotaku and polygon)won't agree with. Zombies are great because they can represent group think and the masses. looking at the world days gone builds it's easy to see there is a comparison to Americas forgotten middle class, there are American flags flying high in each homestead Decan is the classic American son, the non conforming loner on his bike... or in the media's own words " another stereotypical white American male protagonist" and while I think a whole lot of us can look past such trivialities and learn how to feel for a character based on thier actions, ideology and persona... Unfortunately in Trump's America everything has to be marginalized into sex race religion and politics. Makes me sick, I hope I'm wrong I really do.

Re: Poll: Are You Enjoying Final Fantasy XII on PS4?

Maximums4083

RANTWARNING!!
Honestly, I used to dislike ff xii, the whole microcosm of ivolice felt unfamiliar and my biggest gripe was with the gambit system. In 2006 I tried playing 12 but I had avery hard time understanding it and got stuck on the Laviathan airship (rescuing Amilia) I tried three separate times that year and always found myself stuck in the same place. Now in 2017 I realize how wrong I was, where I used to dislike it for being different from other main ff titles I now find it bold, today it seems main line ff games are quite the opposite .today newer titles play out like a chore and they push final fantasy staples in them like a gimmick. Final fantasy xii came along at a time where it wanted to show the world that the series was the state of it's genre not just a nostalgic cash in on the past. Unfortunately I like many a gamer i didn't like xii at the time and I have to wonder if that misguided reception was what led to the end of the most important jrpg series of the day. 15 is getting back on track and it lays some groundwork that with the right amount of creativity and cultural implementation might very well be a bright future. I wanted to give xii another shot because something about it always grabbed me dispute my distaste and interestingly I find myself realign loving it . Aspects that were to complex back then seem natural now the art I'm am loving as well as the plot, this has to do with the maturity I gained in adulthood I suspect.most of all what makes this great is it has that epic unique feeling that final fantasy used to carry it is timeless. I was admittedly wrong about this game it is amazing and still holds up because is was so far ahead.
