Re: Black Myth: Wukong (PS5) - A Spectacularly Creative Action Romp

I'm good with passing on this with its technical issues on PS5. I have so many other games on my backlog anyway that one less game to worry about is fine by me. Developers/publishers need to understand that gamers have an embarrassment of riches these days to choose from. And it is all too easy to find games that don't have these issues to spend our time on.

Re: People Are Already Freaking Out Over Monster Hunter Wilds' PS5 Frame Rate

I'm definitely passing on the game if it doesn't have a 60fps mode. I have so many other games on my plate these days, that I can easily pass on the games that don't offer what should be the bare minimum these days on modern platforms. Developers of action games especially need to get their priorities straight, and 30fps (or worse, wildly unstable performance) isn't acceptable with the technology available to them in modern platforms.

Re: Reaction: PS5 Livestreams Are No Longer Speaking to the Fans Who Built the Brand

It's wasn't good, but it's wasn't terrible either. Astro Bot saved it honestly. But yeah, I've come to the conclusion that most first-party Sony games have simply left me behind. They aren't for me anymore. Nearly all of my PS5 games are multiplatform games that I buy on PS5 just because I don't want the Switch versions that run like butt. The only "PC" hardware I own is my Steam Deck, which is also nowhere near as powerful as my PS5, so the PS5 has become my default multiplatform system.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Ending?

MARl0

I didn't find it all that confusing, but I do think that the way it was presented really killed the impact of Aerith's death. Replaying the original FF7 earlier this year, and I still get emotional at that scene when it comes up, despite playing through the game many times over the years. But I was just completely untouched by it in Rebirth because of how poorly it was presented. It should have been more impactful with today's technology, but they found a way to make it less impactful in the end, which is...pretty astonishing.

Re: Sonic Superstars (PS5) - A Solid 2D Sonic Game, If You Play It Solo

Sonic multiplayer needs to be done with split screen. It's really the only way it can work in any meaningful way. The way games like Sonic 2 handled it was a fine diversion back in the day, but it never feels like true multiplayer Sonic. Just barely feeling more substantial than something like Super Mario Galaxy multiplayer with the other playing using the point to aid the "main" player.
