Anything that cuts down on the ridicilous required grinding in jrpg's is a good thing. Though it's high time they got rid of that ancient and quite frankly terrible mechanic, which was just there in the old 8 and 16 bit games to artificially pad out a game.
This " evolution" of the adventure game genre, isn't exactly a good thing. It went from an actual game genre, to a glorified barely interactive story book, where there is just a pretense of choice and no actual choice at all. Because the game will force the story it wants to tell on you anyway, the Telltale " games" don't even pretend the choice you makes has an impact on the story at all.
Thanks a lot for removing all that icky choice for me Telltale !
Mleh Paramount missed a huge opportunity with not releasing the 13th Friday the 13th movie on Friday the 13th in 2013. There were 2 of them in 2013 December and September. This was a opportunity they will never get again and they ignored it.
And the idea that Bioware lost it's edge is risible. That seems to imply they had an edge to begin with, instead or repeating the same game over and over again with a new coat of paint.
bloodrayne 2 is more like Bloodrayne 1, but set in the modern world with slightly better graphics. It's still the same game otherwise. And after that it took 7 years for a new Bloodrayne to surface. And it was Betrayal. ..What a fitting name.
I remember the blood omen series. I have most of them. bloodrayne is more like Nocturne, also from terminal reality. Bloodrayne's development name was Nocturne 2
That sounds more like it. I personally loath platforming im not good at them and platforming forced or otherwise just frustrates me.
What I really want to know though, is how bad the grinding is or better yet if there is any grinding. I can deal with platforming if I must, but if there is any grinding I tend to tune out.
This is exactly the reason why I loath online gaming and online only games. They live and die by the grace of the server operators. And all of them are on borrowed time. It's just a matter of time before the plugs are pulled and that fancy game is just another useless piece of plastic.
So in other words its like all the other FMV games.
A barely interactive movie.
Just this time the video part isnt compressed down to run on a Sega CD.
Thought this genre died out in the late 90's though when Trilobyte went under.
So, they finally dropped the jrpg grinding car collecathon ? Maybe this will finally be a Gran Turismo I will be interested in. Because the previous game play was as dull as dishwater and I never understood what people got from it.
Not too sure about the online centric part of the game though. Never cared about online gaming.
@Azikira Yeah but Nintendo and sense don't really co operate anymore these days. Look at the Nes classic shortage and the fact they are killing the thing instead of ramping up production.
Mleh, I'm only interested in the single player mode. Not the "hey gaiz we have found another way to take your money for a game you already paid for !!1" spiel.
Yes off course we should get refunds Psn right now, is too much like a game of russian roulette with your money. And if you don't like a game ? Well too bad for you then, they got your money and your stuck with a clunker in your library, you can't get rid off. Ive had quite a few games i didn' t like but had no way to get rid off. And they are still clogging up my psn game library.
Refunds can only be a good thing.
( Bloodrayne Betrayal is one of the games i was really dissapointed in. Betrayal is right I expected a scrolling beat em up, what I got was an insanely difficult platformer. which is hardly what i wanted.)

Re: Review: Super Rude Bear Resurrection (PS4)
@whywai88
So was I.
but no, instead we are getting yet another super meat boy redux rip off.
Because we do need, yet another bloody hard platformer.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 166
Amazing Spiderman 2 on the ps3
and the Arkham remasters on the ps4

Re: Resident Evil: Code Veronica X Stealth Launches on PS4 Next Week
STARS !
The last true Resident Evil game, before the series went to hell with 4.
..Words can not convey just how much I hate resident evil 4.
( 0 and remake are great games, but 0 was just a prequel and remake a reinvention of the original. )

God I can't stand any of these.

Re: So How Does Persona 5 Compare Between PS4 and PS3?
Didn't buy it at all.
Dont plan too either, untill I pick it up used.
I got enough to play on the ps3 and 4.
Re: Review: Full Throttle Remastered (PS4)
Telltale king ?
Pfffftt !
In sales maybe, but that's it Their " games" are rather rubbish otherwise what with all that interactivity and choice.
Re: Call of Duty: WWII Confirmed with Countdown Clock
Well we all knew this series was creatively bankrupt anyway.

did you avatar always smile ?
Re: Marvel Heroes Omega Enters Closed Beta on PS4 This Week
@SegaBlueSky
Why not buy the Ultimate Alliance pack on psn ?
It's on sale.
Re: Bandai Namco Reveals New Action RPG from God Eater Team
Super kaizo world, is an extremely hard super mario world rom hack.

I'd love to see proper HD Bloodrayne 3
Re: Japanese Sales Charts: PS4 Numbers Continue to Drop as Software Dries Up
It's better then the Xbox One.
162 ...ouch.
Re: Scheduled PlayStation Network Maintenance Returns Next Week
@get2sammyb
Nah, I was joking.
But I can see it happening, I am a bit of an impulse buyer.
Re: Scheduled PlayStation Network Maintenance Returns Next Week
And off course, that's just the time I want to buy something,
just my luck.
Re: Bandai Namco Reveals New Action RPG from God Eater Team
@GraveLordXD
IIt doesn't help that I don't like platformers and that Betrayal is in the super kaizo mold of difficulty.
So I wasn't best pleased.
Truth be told though, is that the first act of Bloodrayne 1 is a bit dull. It doesn't get good until act 2.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUANtXsbyaI
I'm personally hoping there will be a proper Bloodrayne 3 one of these days.
After all Shenmue 3 is coming.
So anything can happen.
...hopefully.
And you ? Rather see a Bloodrayne Betrayal 2 ?
Re: Bandai Namco Reveals New Action RPG from God Eater Team
@GraveLordXD
That is the third game, that is Betrayal. The one I don't like, because its not even close to the original.
( and i hate platformers )
The one you don' t like, in the swamp, is the original.
Which is the game i like.
Oh well, different strokes an all that.
Re: Review: The Disney Afternoon Collection (PS4)
@waluigifan1
It is.
But at least the collection is released digitally.
So it's not as if Europeans are missing out on it.
Re: Bandai Namco Reveals New Action RPG from God Eater Team
@GraveLordXD
It can hardly be worse then Bloodrayne Betrayal though.
I expected a side scrolling beat em up.
I got a Super Kaizu platformer
Re: Review: Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom (PS4)
@ApostateMage
Nah, that sounds more like FF13.
At least there is no garbage story, cringy voice "acting", nor is the game totally linear.
Re: Review: Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom (PS4)
@Jenny_Jones
Excellent.
I'll wait for a sale though, or at least till all the problems have been ironed out.
Re: Review: The Disney Afternoon Collection (PS4)
@BLP_Software
They also chose NOT to release it on the NX.
Nor did Nintendo choose to go after Disney and Capcom for this.
Re: Review: The Disney Afternoon Collection (PS4)
@waluigifan1
Yeah its only for the USA
There is no disc release planned for Europe :
http://www.themmnetwork.com/blog/2015/8/25/capcom-uk-on-mega-man-legacy-collection-no-physical-release-for-europe
Oh well, I was just curious.
Re: Bandai Namco Reveals New Action RPG from God Eater Team
I get a Bloorayne vibe from this.
But that just might be me.
Re: UK Sales Charts: Ghost Recon Returns As Persona 5 Disappears
I'm stil surprised GTA 5 is still in the top 10
That game is 4 years old by now !
Re: Review: The Disney Afternoon Collection (PS4)
@waluigifan1
That got a physical release ?
I only ever saw downloads.
Re: Review: The Disney Afternoon Collection (PS4)
@Azikira
Weird under powered hardware ?
They seem to favour that a lot.
Re: Review: Late Shift (PS4)
@themcnoisy
Sounds more like the Telltale Games mold of "games",
where the "choice" they give you isn't a choice at all.
Just a pretense of choice.
Re: Review: Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom (PS4)

You can use it as a coaster maybe.
Re: Review: Late Shift (PS4)
@get2sammyb
To be honest that sounds like every other FMV game out there.
It's biggest sin then is that it's boring.
At least you can snicker at the inept ones.
Re: Review: Late Shift (PS4)

Re: Review: The Disney Afternoon Collection (PS4)
Great package.
Great collection, just not my thing.
I don't like platformers

Yeah but Nintendo and sense don't really co operate anymore these days.

Sense and Nintendo ? They don't gel anymore.
Re: Review: Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom (PS4)
Platforming ?
..Okay, now my interest has waned somewhat.
I loath platformers.
And judging from the review, this is best picked up when on sale
so I'll wait.
Re: Hour-Long Dutch Documentary Explores the Making of Horizon: Zero Dawn
No I don't need subtitles thanks ;p
Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 Leaves Season Pass in a Galaxy Far, Far Away
Mleh, I'm only interested in the single player mode.
Not the "hey gaiz we have found another way to take your money for a game you already paid for !!1" spiel.
Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 Brings Single Player, Space Battles, and More to PS4
Single player ?
NOW I am interested.
Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn Battles to Top of PlayStation Store Charts
Eh, second place in the usa isn't bad.
Re: Square Enix Is Reprinting NieR on the PS3 Due to Popular Demand
@JoeBlogs
Lucas got enamored with his CGI Toys and decided he could suppress cultural history.
@sinalefa
Reissuing the game is probably cheaper and more profitable then a remaster.
Re: Feature: 41 PS2 Classics That Must Come to PS4
Id rather play Star Wars battlefront 1 to be honest
2 never really clicked with me the way 1 did.
Re: Warriors All-Stars Is a Musou Mash-Up for PS4
Well at least its coming to the west.
That's something eh ?..eh ?
..eeeeh...
Re: Review: Atelier Firis: The Alchemist and the Mysterious Journey (PS4)
@Ralizah
Atelier Rorona it's a soft reboot and the start of its own trilogy.
Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 Leak Leads to EA Clamp Down
Mleh.
Unless this one includes an offline single player mode ( and it wont most likely ) I wont be interested.
Re: Poll: Should Sony Be Looking to Add Refunds to PSN?
Yes off course we should get refunds
Psn right now, is too much like a game of russian roulette with your money.
And if you don't like a game ?
Well too bad for you then, they got your money and your stuck with a clunker in your library, you can't get rid off.
Ive had quite a few games i didn' t like but had no way to get rid off.

Refunds can only be a good thing.

Re: Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom Looks Better Every Time We See It
Might buy it, but it mostly depends on the gameplay.
If there is any grinding, i'm out.
Re: Have Mass Effect: Andromeda's Weird Eyes Been Fixed?
So from bad Disney princess clone, to something slightly more realistic and expressive.
And off course the damn thing wasn't ready but it shipped anyway, cause we can patch right ?
i'll get this in 2020 when its on sale.
Maybe, no way will this be a full msrp price tag for me.
