Re: Cole, Jak and Daxter Jump Into PlayStation All-Stars

Kage_88

No surprise these guys are in the game, but it's nice to see they're actually confirmed.

I'm a big fan of both inFAMOUS and Jak & Daxter...I just hope players will be able to choose between good and evil Cole.

Still waiting for a level based on Shadow of the Colossus...

Re: Japanese Sales Charts: Hardware Sinks, Vita Stinks

Kage_88

After much thinking, I've decided against getting a Vita after all. With the price of the machine and accessories plus the lousy support; it's just not worth getting one (especially considering all the incredible games coming out for the other consoles).

It'll be interesting to see what Sony has in store for the machine at E3.

Re: Talking Point: Why Vita Criticisms Are Premature

Kage_88

@JavierYHL - Actually, the DS is the highest selling console of all time.

I do hope Vita gets out of its slump (especially since I've decided to cave-in and buy one!), but the financial situation at Sony isn't good. I'm not about to say they're going out of business, but Hirai and crew really need to turn the situation around.

After all, I'm sure many people thought SEGA would turn the Dreamcast's ailing fortunes around too...

Re: Rumour: Killzone Dialogue Prompts Sequel Speculation

Kage_88

Great! I hope it's true, as I enjoy the Killzone series. I'm willing to bet it's a Vita version (after all, there WAS a Killzone tech demo shown for the handheld a while back).

@get2sammyb - I agree. I've always found the world, characters, etc, of the Killzone games underrated. In fact, I've always believed that the original four protagonists (Jan Templar, Luger, Rico and Hakha) were some of the best-written characters in any videogame I've ever played.

Re: Sony to Showcase 20 Games at E3 2012

Kage_88

My wish list is a showing by The Last Guardian, The Last Of Us & maybe a Jak & Daxter sequel.

I'd also really love to see a Vita game explosion. As LittleBigVita said, pretty much any major franchise on the machine would be welcome...though I wouldn't mind great new games much like Gravity Rush & Escape Plan.

Oh, and (while unlikely) a PS4 teaser!

Re: Rumour: Cole MacGrath Supercharges PlayStation All-Stars

Kage_88

I would imagine that Cole McGrath would be a shoe-in for the game; he's one of Sony's strongest new characters, from one of their best new franchises. I'd also like to see Gabe Logan from Syphon Filter make an appearance.

Also, I wonder if there will be any Resistance characters in the game...

Re: Miyamoto: Vita Needs More Games

Kage_88

Miyamoto's right; the Vita's situation doesn't seem unlike the PS3's initial troubles. Sony's handheld seems confused as to what it wants to be; a game device? An all-in-one ala iPad? I hope Sony relises that unique games that can ONLY be played on Vita is key; I mean, what's to stop publishers from porting Vita games to PS3 in a bid to make a few more dollars (much like the PSP software)? What position would that put Sony's handheld in?

@IrishYort - Eh? 3DS has plenty of quality software - Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Ocarina of Time, Resident Evil: Revelations, Street Fighter IV, Kid Icarus - just to name a few. Far more 'over 75%-ers' than what Vita currently has.

Re: God of War: Ascension Single-Player a "Little Shorter" Than Previous Titles

Kage_88

'Multiplayer won't be tacked on'...I'm pretty sure the makers of Bioshock 2 & Dead Space 2 said the same thing...

Bitchiness aside, I do hope there will be some sort of split-screen mode for those of us with lousy internet connections. Killzone 3 & Uncharted 3 had it...

Shorter single player also doesn't sound good...I have a strange feeling THAT will be the 'tacked on' mode. Still, I hope I'm wrong.

One thing's for sure though; that cyclops looked damn amazing!

Re: Feature: Why We're Excited About PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

Kage_88

Well, if Sony didn't have any right to mock Nintendo before (which they didn't), then they sure as hell don't now.

I'm sorry to bring negativety into this thread...but I just need to get this off my chest. How many times does Sony need to plagiarise Nintendo's successes? Christ, as if the PSN hack didn't make them enough of a laughing stock.

Re: Japanese Sales Charts: Vita Stagnates

Kage_88

Well, Sony better use E3 to announce some big things for the Vita (which I'm sure they will).

The fact that Monter Hunter and Dragon Quest are exclusive to Nintendo (for now) was a huge kick in the nuts for Sony. Like Slapshot said, all it takes is a few killer apps to help rejuvinate the handheld's fotunes.

Re: Rumour: Early Orbis Tech Specs Leaked

Kage_88

Interesting...and by 'interesting', I mean I haven't got the foggiest idea what those specs mean.

Anywho, it'll be really cool to see just what kind of games the Orbis will be able to handle. Nicer graphics are a given, but what about other details such as AI, game-world size, on-screen object count, etc.?

I'm not much of a PC gamer...but I do know games have progressed leaps and bounds compared to PS3's ageing hardware....

So I ask anyone on this site with a killer PC set-up...do you think the Orbis will run games akin to PC Battlefield 3? Or do you think they'll be even bigger and better than that?

Re: Review: Journey (PlayStation Network)

Kage_88

I cannot wait to download this!

I knew this game was going to be something very special when I first learned of it; and it looks like I was right!

Games like Journey show what the videogame medium is truly capable of; if only more developers would have the courage of abandoning the 'videogame style' train of thought when making their software, we would have more games like Journey, Heavy Rain, Flower, etc.

Of course, it would be a bit presumptuous of me to label this an 'instant classic' without even playing it...but what the hell, it's an instant classic!

Re: Review: Sonic Generations (PlayStation 3)

Kage_88

Definitely one of the strongest Sonic games I've played. I probably wouldn't give it a 9 (maybe a 7 or 8), as there are definitely some things I don't like about it. The later levels aren't as good as the earlier ones (Planet Wisp in particular is terrible), and the traditional Sonic bugbears are present (button unresponsiveness, butter-on-skillet movement, dodgy level design & annoying friend-based gameplay).

Still, it sure as hell is better than Sonic '06.

Re: Review: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (PlayStation 3)

Kage_88

Great review Nathan!

I'm a HUGE MGS fan - but I'm not sure if I'll be getting this. I already have all the titles, plus there are a ton of other (new) games I still need to play...

It sucks that the original Metal Gear Solid isn't in this pack, but this looks to be an otherwise great purchase for people who are unfamiliar to the series!

I can't wait for Metal Gear Rising!
