30 hours of blistering horror action? We can't complain

Capcom might be craftily eyeing the commercial success of Call of Duty with the upcoming Resident Evil 6, but there’s one area where the two titles will almost certainly differ: length.

Speaking in an interview with NowGamer, director Eiichiro Sasaki revealed that he expects the game to be about 30 hours long once finished. That’s about six Call of Duty games combined.

He said:

The three characters each have their own story and you can choose whichever one you want and play that story, experience that character’s story.

While each character’s story stands alone, all of the characters wind up in the same area of the game, in China, so there is a certain level of overlap. They stand on their own but they do overlap in certain areas. You don’t have to play them all, of course.

Despite the enormous campaign length, Capcom announced that it had pushed forward the release of Resident Evil 6 yesterday. You can now expect to dive into the title’s sprawling campaign on 2nd October.
