Re: Game of the Year: #1 - Astro Bot

Juanalf

I didn't expect it to be that good, took me back to my N64 days when I use to smile more while I was playing games. Congrats Astro Bot, Team Asobi and the spirit of Japan Studio!

Re: Game of the Year: Best PS5 Developer of 2024

Juanalf

@Mincey0 "Yet somehow marketing suggested its some game of the year contender"

You should probably replace contender with winner! (Multiple awards so far) πŸ™‚

Are you really implying that the 94 metacritic with the 9.2 user reviews are just publications and players falling for some genius Sony marketing? Why didn't Sony deploy this incredible super marketing with Concord?

Re: Game of the Year: #3 - Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Juanalf

@Fritz167 If it makes you feel better it would probably be 11# if they extended their goty by one πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ There were many great to good games this year, it's crazy that next year's selection will probably blow this one out the water

Re: Game of the Year: Best PS5 Remake or Remaster of 2024

Juanalf

@B0udoir "people forged an opinion by playing just a couple of hours but never spent the 120 hours to complete the story"

I have 650+ hours clocked between Persona 5 the original release, Royal and the PS5 remaster. The game for me is perfect πŸ™‚ If I could change something I would change nothing! most people fall into this category if you see the reviews, user reviews and awards it earned.

It didn't click with you which is fine we all have that one game we hate that everyone loves, mine is GOW Ragnarok. I was so bored playing through that I wondered if I was mentally ill. It happens πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Re: Game of the Year: #4 - Stellar Blade

Juanalf

It was my second favorite game this year only behind Astro Bot, I loved everything from the music to the fighting and all the characters!

Could they have given her a bit more personality? Sure! she did remind me of Aloy in Forbidden West, it still didn't take away anything from the entire experience. I'm ready for part 2 πŸ’ͺ🏼

Re: Game of the Year: #5 - Balatro

Juanalf

@Mattock1987 " I have a sinking feeling you’ve got Black Mid Wukong in the top 3"

Your sinking feeling is wrong then πŸ™‚ it probably didn't make the top 10, the only person I've seen mention Wukong from the staff is Robert who reviewed it and it didn't even make his top 5.

Re: Game of the Year: #5 - Balatro

Juanalf

@Icey664 Stellar Blade is probably no 4 but I definitely wouldn't cry if it did goty, it was an excellent very polished action game which was sadly overlooked because it came out earlier in the year😁

Re: Game of the Year: #7 - Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Juanalf

@scoobdoo "Imagine thinking the 5-minute wonder that is Astro Bot is better."

Not even Astro's Playroom is 5 minutes what game did you play? lol Astro Bot is about 18-20 hours if you experience everything the game has (I clocked 28 hours). I know you were trolling but I was lonely so I felt like responding to someone about anything πŸ™‚

Re: Game of the Year: Stephen's Top 5 PS5 Games of 2024

Juanalf

@Kira_Moonvalley "Am i the only one who loved Astro's Playroom and was massively let down by Astro Bot?"

Pretty much 🀷 although there's one other person here that hates it because it wasn't in VR. Playroom was clearly a short tech demo (a very good one) and Astro Bot was a full game experience.

It's almost like playing the Prologue Demo of Metaphor: ReFantazio then playing the full game and being "I think I liked the demo better". It's not a 1:1 comparison but you get what I'm trying to say, Astro Bot was the final form of Playroom.

Re: Black Myth: Wukong Deserved Astro Bot's Game of the Year Award, Says Game Science CEO

Juanalf

My dudes your game was fortunate to be nominated for goty, your 81% metacritic score is a historic low for being in that category. Stellar Blade has that same 81% (and much higher user score) and that couldn't win a cup of coffee.

How ungrateful that you went home with two awards and that was still a waste of your time when any other company would have been filled with joy just being invited there 😐

Re: Random: PS5, PS4 Shovelware Isn't Even Trying to Hide Its Plagiarism Anymore

Juanalf

@RudeHero As having played both games fully (unlike you) there's not a single point in Astro Bot where I stopped everything and said "omg this is just like Mario Galaxy!" πŸ˜’

You really think if Astro Bot had plagiarize anything that Nintendo wouldn't have swam Team ASOBI studios with a swat team full of lawyers? If it bothers you reading about Astro Bot is perhaps beter that you stay in Nintendo Life!

Re: Suicide Squad Season 4 Will Be Its Last, Offline Mode Coming Tomorrow

Juanalf

@dskatter "I don’t think anyone from the Arkham days are left there, sadly."

Most of the ground floor developers should still be there, it was just Hill and Walker that left and I remind you they steered the Titanic (SS) more than half way through. They only jumped from the ship when they saw the iceberg 🀷

Re: Developers Not Nailing Down Release Dates Due to GTA 6 Launch Window

Juanalf

"Any game releasing in close proximity will almost certainly have its sales affected"

That's not counting the press and buzz that GTA 6 will command, any game released close enough to it will have to sell itself with essentially zero coverage. I wouldn't even bother putting money on marketing said game as no one will be looking.

Re: Fans Frustrated with Avatar's Disappointing PS5 Pro Patch

Juanalf

@nessisonett "Hahahahahahaha enjoy your Β£700-Β£800 beta for the PS6"

Pretty sure they are enjoying their systems, at the end of the day it's a PS5 so they get to enjoy the same games you're enjoying (the majority in better quality with 1-2 exceptions temporarily till they get patched again).

Re: Fans Frustrated with Avatar's Disappointing PS5 Pro Patch

Juanalf

@KundaliniRising333 It's absolutely on the devs, who else would it be on? There have been incredible implementations of PSSR where it exceeds a native 4K image like in Stellar Blade and Forbidden West. So yes it's on the devs πŸ™‚ (plus Ubisoft probably didn't give them enough time).

Re: PS5 Handheld Device in the Works at Sony, New Report Claims

Juanalf

@ChimpMasta "It’s simply not possible to create current gen performance in a handheld due to power and heat dissipation."

You can currently play PC versions of Forbidden West, Black Myth, Ragnarok and many more on Steam Deck. Those are current gen games running natively on a portable, why can't Sony do something similar with their portable?
