@voodoo341
Well, to be fair, PS4 got the marketing better as it's selling a lot without that much exclusive content to back it up. I hope it improves, but in the meantime, I'm more than happy with my Wii U and my PS3, and I'm certainly glad I haven't bought a new console from Sony or Microsoft.
@JaxonH I played TLoU on PS3 and I agree with you. It's a good game and the story is great but I can't understand the hype it gets. I also think that Tomb Raider is a better game and had a much better time playing Lara's adventure.
@Savino Completely agree with you! I'm not buying a PS4 until something truly new comes out that can't be played elsewhere. I don't mind playing inferior versions of games, so my PS3 is still getting a lot of love. Also, my Wii U and 3DS have been keeping me really busy.
Great series!! Loved the whole episode and it was the first time I played right after I downloaded it. Everything was great and I loved the fight against Bloody Mary. It really took me by surprise what Bigby did and the final scene of the season blew my mind. Now I'm really looking forward to Season 2, whenever that happens...
@rastamadeus I can't be out in the streets right now because I'm currently at work and when I get home, the whole world cup buzz in my city will probably be over, as I'll be home only at night. Then, I'll probably enjoy a little game time. However, on thursday, I didn't do anything but watch the whole world cup. That day, was also Valentine's day here, so I watched the game with my girlfriend and it was great as she loves soccer.
@rjejr We have Father's Day here in Brazil only on october. I'm working this weekend, so if I can get around to play anything it'll probably be the DLC chapter of Dual Destinies, which is surprisingly great. If I can play anything when I get home it'll be Mario Kart 8 as I want to get gold on the 150cc after I did it on the 100cc cups.
@get2sammyb I kinda hope it's not, as it's the ONLY game that I want for the Vita in the foreseeable future and I don't intend to get a PS4 so soon. I love my Vita, but I'm really disapointed with it as it's not getting any love at all. I'm primarily a handheld gamer, as I don't get too much time to play my consoles at home, so the lack of support to Vita is really bad as I don't care much abou indie titles. My 3DS gets all my love and I play it every day. THAT machine has a ton of games that are very good and I play so many games in it that I even haven't got around to play all the ambassador titles I got way back because there's always something new and interesting. I'm looking forward to playing Persona Q, Theathrhythm Final Fantasy, Layton Vs Ace Attorney as well as Super Smash Bros. If the Vita got a few more bigger titles it would definetely get more love. But it's disapointing as the best game for it this year (at least for me), as Final Fantasy X/X2 HD as there was nothing else... The Type-0 announcment mad it just that more sad...
I'm not much excited for E3 as I think it will be more of the same... The focus will be heavily on the PS4, but I don't see any more exclusives coming... I think the Vita will get very little attention, like always, and the big game announcement for the handheld will probably be ICO and Shadow of the Collossus HD... We may get a little more information on Gravity Rush 2, and if there's a release date I'll be happy, but my expectations for this year are the lowest...
Playing trough Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII 'til that ending that left me in tears was the most memorable experience on my PSP. Dissidia was also an amazing experience, as well as MGS: Peace Walker. Getting to play a lot of PSOne classics on the go for the first was awesome!
@rjejr On E3 last year it was revealed that it's also coming to Xbox One. If we get a release window on E3 I'll be happy, but I'm not expecting it either...
@banacheck To tell the truth, the setting was what kept me off of the original Bioshock. I loved everything about Infinite, specially the journey with Elizabeth and Columbia. I only started the original Bioschok after I finished Infinte, but it didn't hook me as much because I honestly didn't like Rapture.
@ToOGoodOfAPlaya I know I'll get one down the line, but right now, there's nothing for me. My most anticipated release for a Sony console this year is Persona 5, which will come to the PS3, so although I'm very curious about some games on the PS4 such as Resogun and Infamous, there's not a single one that makes me want it right now...
So happy that I didn't cave to get the PS4. For me, there´s no incentive to buy one right now so I guess I'll gladly wait until 2015 for something to be announce. In the meantime I'll keep playing my PS3 as it have so many games.
I'm playing Lightning Returns and Bravely Defautl. If I can get away from any of these titles, specially the super addictive BD, I'l be playing a non-RPG, such as Profesor Layton and the Azran Legacies or Deadpool.
I'm really torn on this one. I stil couldn't vote. I think both characters interesting and their respective games (Final Fantasy VIII and Persona 4 Golden) was the first game I played on both franchises, and they made me fall in love with the Final Fantasy series and the Persona series. I also played Persona 4 Arena and Dissidia Final Fantasy so I know they both could hold their ends in a fight. In my mind this fight would end in a draw as both are evenly matched.
@Splat The problem is Kratos getting a hold of Dante as he could dodge any of his attacks. And even if he did, Dante would only need to draw a gun and shoot Kratos in the face.
Well, Kratos killed gods but Dante killed demons. Even new Dante could win against Kratos as his skill set becomes even more varied and he has the power of demons AND angels. Kratos is a lot more muscular, for sure, but Dante is a lot more nimble and has more speed, so even if it would take longer, Dante would win.
Dante all the way. His moveset is a lot more varied, so he could aproach the fight with Kratos from different angles and do everything to take advantage. He is also a lot cooler than Kratos will ever be and fought a lot of different demons. Also he doesn't lose all of his powers at the beggining of every game.
I didn't play any of the games that came out this moth, but I'd definetely choose Tomb Raider as I loved it on the PS3. January was mostly spent playing my RPG of my backlog as I managed to finally finish Tales of the Abyss and Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millenium Girl, both on the 3DS. I also managed to finally finish The Last of Us on the beggining of January and The Wonderful 101 on the end of the month so I kinda aprecciated not having any new games to play
@BornOfEvil I haven't played Arkham Origins yet, so I can't say anyhing about the bosses on that game. However comparing Arkham City, which is arguably the best in the series with MGS4 I remember the bosses of MGS4 way better than Arkhan City. I finished Arkham City last year and MGS4 I beat a lot of times, and the first was about 5 years ago. All the bosses on the Arkham games will be remembered more than any of the MGS for sure, but only because of their appearence on comics and other media, not because the fights were better. Even Mr. Freeze, which was one of the most tense fights on Arkham City didn't get anywhere near the level of tension when I first fought Laughing Octopus on MGS4. It's only a matter of opinion, of course, and I can certainly understand why people are choosing Batman over Snake, but considering the games, and the games alone, I think that Snake would win. I mean, on the games, Batman can easily die if there are armed thugs if you don't go stealth on them. If I considered the comics and other media, specially the recent movies and the animated series, I'd definetly go with Batman, but from a game standpoint, I have to choose Snake.
Old Snake all the way. @get2sammyb great call back about the tunnel. Snake beat a lot more bad ass bosses in MGS4 than Batman in all of the Arkham games. All the bosses that Snake fought were memorable while a lot of boss Batman fought were forgeatable, so even in old age Snake is a better fighter than Batman
I do think that the Vita is in a worst place than the Wii U. Both are great machines once you play them, but they are both struggling and is mainly Sony and Nintendo's fault for that. Wii U has some games announced, including AAA titles such as Bayonetta 2 and all the first-party like Smash Bros Brawl. Vita has nothing like this. The most interesting games on the horizon are FFX/X-2 HD. Soul Sacrifice Delta probably won't change the mind of who didn't like the first one and the indies don't sell machines with overpriced memory cards. The only other game, that I hope will be coming out this year is Gravity Rush 2. Other than that, there's nothing to look forward. The lack of backwards compatibility also hurt the Vita a lot. I'm mostly a handheld gamer and I love my Vita but it's played very little, specially considering the huge amount of games that already are on the 3DS and that are coming soon this year.
I played a lot of The Wonderful 101 on my Wii U and Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Milleniun Girl on my 3DS. I'm at the very end of both games, so I didn't play much of anything else this weekend even though I finally got GTA V cheaper.
I really hope that Persona 5 relase in the West this year, but I think it won't happen until 2015... Another wishful prediction is the release of Final Fantasy Type-0 for Vita this year. I really hope it'll happen, but I don't want to get my hopes up. As for realistic predicitions, I think Sammy is the most spot on as far as re-releases go. I think it will also happen with Vita a lot, and we'll get a lot of HD collections such as Prince of Persia Trilogy, ICO and Shadow of the Colossys HD and others...
The took their sweet time with this one, but I'm glad at least it's releasing soon. I really hope it was just this one, because the wait has been way too long.
@charlesnarles MGSV is definetely one of my most expected games this year. Since Ground Zeroes is coming to PS3, is there any chance that Phantom Pain will be on it too or will it be only on PS4?
@LDXD I played The Wolf Among Us and enjoyed it a lot. It's has a similiar format to The Walking Dead, as both are from Telltale, but The Wolf Among Us is based on the comic book Fables (NOT required to understand what's going on). You control the Big Bad Wolf from fairy tales, who is human (sort of) on the game and a good detective and sees himself involved on a murder case. The story is quite good and the art style is better than that of The Walking Dead. Being episodic, there is no way of knowing if the story will evolve into something great or if it will fall apart and leave us disapointed. From what I've played, the story on The Walking Dead is better, but, in my opinion, The Wolf Among Us is defintely worth a look.
I completely agree with the article. I have a 16gb and I haven't download a lot of games due to the size of it. I didn't even take the sale to get Hotline Miami when it was U$2,49 because my card was already full and I don't like the process of deleting and having to download it again. I mainly buy physical games these days for my Vita, but if the memory cards were cheaper, I'd definetely buy a lot more content. I never even used the Vita to listen to music because it's already full of games and huge updates on games like Killzone or Playstation All-Stars almost make me delete the game even if I have a more manageable physical copy...
Just finished The Last of Us. While I couldn't get into it for the first seven hours, the last 5 have been amazing and I really enjoyed it in the end. Not my personal GOTY for 2013 (Persona 4 Golden was that), or even PS3, but an outstanding experience nonetheless. Now that I finished it, I''l probably play a little of The Wonderful 101 (WiiU), and Ace Attorney: Justice For All (DS). I'm also on my second playthrough of Persona 4 Golden and loving it even more.
Persona 5, although I think it will come to the west only on 2015. Other than that, The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead Season 2, Lords of Shadow 2 and Lightining Returns. However, my PS3 will be on for a while as I still have a lot of games on my backlog, such as The Last of Us (just passed winter and now I'm really enjoying the game), Vanquish, Valkyria Chronicles, Mirror's Edge and the first Bioshock (Infinite made me curious about it, but I didn't enjoy it as much)
@Bliquid I also didnt't enjoy The Last of Us a lot, and I have yet to finish it. It has high production values, but the gameplay isn't that good, IMHO. For me, Tomb Raider had better gameplay even if the story wasn't as good, making it a better game. Bioshock Infinite also had a better story, IMO, and, for me, it had an advantage as I don't play FPS and was pleasantly surprised by it.
