"Ever used one of these before?"

Whether or not you think that it’s an embarrassing indictment of the state of the PlayStation 4’s post-launch lineup, there’s little doubt that The Last of Us Remastered is the next-gen console’s most important release since inFAMOUS: Second Son earlier in the year. As such, Sony has pledged some serious marketing muscle behind the remake – and here’s one of the television spots that it intends to use.

Uploaded to PlayStation Nordic’s official YouTube channel – potentially prematurely – the advertisement shows 30 seconds of the port's picturesque visuals. There’s a mix of pre-rendered and realtime cut-scenes here, though the character models are so heavily upgraded that the differences are much less pronounced this time around. The contrast also appears to have been tweaked, but that may just be the encoding on the video.

All the same, we reckon that this should have a reasonable impact when it airs in Europe later this month. It’s a short trailer for sure, but it definitely gets across the appeal of Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed survival horror escapade.
