Re: Poll: What Was Your Favourite PlayStation Game of 2013?

Jairo_MC

Persona 4 Golden for me. It released over here on 2012 but I got it and played it on 2013 so it got my vote. It's the best game I played last year across all systems and I played a lot of games. So glad to see people enjoying it.
I started my second playtrough on January 1st so that the game would lead to another great year in gaming!

Re: Game of the Year: Best PlayStation 3 Games of 2013

Jairo_MC

Well, for me the best PS3 games this year are:
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
Tomb Raider
Bioshock: Infinite
DmC: Devil May Cry
Beyond: Two Souls.

I haven't played GTA V and I still haven't finished The Last of Us, although I'm closer to it. I'm really curious about Ni No Kuni, but after Persona 4 Golden (my personal game of the year over all systems, since I only played and beat it this year) I already bought a few RPGs from Atlus and can't add one more right now. Maybe in the near future I will...

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This... Christmas?

Jairo_MC

I'll play Valkyria Chronicles on my PS3. I can't believe I waited so long to start it but it is great! Other than that I'll play Tales of the Abyss on the 3DS and Lego City Undercover on the WiiU. Later today I'll star the second season of The Walking Dead now that the season pass is released.

Re: God of War Collection Causes Chaos on PlayStation Vita

Jairo_MC

I would rather have some PSN games, like Lara Crof and the Guardian of Light, any of the Capcom fighting games, such as Street Fighter II HD Remix.
As for ports, I think would prefer the Prince of Persia: Sands of time Trilogy or ICO and Shadow of the Colossus collection... I'd like to play Persona 3 FES too, even if it was as a PS2 classic. P3P made me want a proper remake of it on VIta, though as the story is amazing.

Re: What Does the PS4's European Launch Lineup Look Like?

Jairo_MC

@Sanquine
Persona Q really got my attention. If you enjoy RPGs try Etrian Odyssey. They are pretty fun and one of the creators is helping develop Persona Q.
SMT IV is great and I also enjoyed a lot Project X Zone, even though the story is weak and the gameplay is a little repetitive. If you never played SMT: Devil Survivor, Overclocked, the 3DS port is great, but it can be brutal.
Also, try Fire Emblem: Awakening. It's a fantastic game!
On topic: I also have no reason to get a PS4 right now, because I have a lot of PS3 games that I want to finish and that I want to get, specially now that Persona 5 was announced.

Re: Feature: Games of the Generation - Robert's Five Favourites

Jairo_MC

I only played Journey and, although I liked it, I didn't love it as many others did. It was fun and I don't regret buying it, but it's definetely not on my list.
The only other game that I also own is Mass Effect 3 that I got with the Trilogy and I'm still making my way trough the first, despite being fully aware that the ending is disapointing.

Re: Feature: Games of the Generation - Katy's Five Favourites

Jairo_MC

DmC is really one of the best games i played this year. The action is really fast paced and the action is varied and the combo possibilities are almost endless. One of my favorite games.
I also said before that i loved Heavy Rain and i completely agree that every gamer should experience it.
As for the others, even though I hear great things about them, specially Far Cry 3, I don't think I'll play them...

Re: Feature: Games of the Generation - Greg's Five Favourites

Jairo_MC

I played and completed Heavenly Sword, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Resident Evil 5 and I also loved all of them. MGS4 is probably my favourite game on the PS3 and one of my all time favourites.
I never played Oblivion or Wipeout, so I can't say anything about them, except they are probably not for me.
Overall, great list!

Re: Feature: Games of the Generation - Jamie's Five Favourites

Jairo_MC

@JamieO
I also have multiple consoles and haldheld gaming machines and there are always a lot of quality titles to play on them. I bought a lot of games on my PS3 that I got 3-4 years after launch so I could find a lot of games cheaper. It's also a challenge to complete them all, so I know some of them probably will never be (I'm loking at you GTA IV).
It's also hard going back to games and not remembering much about it. The main reason I didn't advance much in Red Dead Redemption is this. I just don't remember what I'm supposed to be doing to advance the story and I kinda want to start it all over, but I keep telling myself that I will do it when I have enough time to make some real progress, which I'm finding harder to have.
On the other hand, a game like Vanquish is intuitive enough so I can go back with more ease, which it will probably get beaten sometime this year. As for The Last Of Us I played a lot when it came out, but I was a little underwhelmed by it (for the record, I don't think it is a bad game, but for me it was a bit overrated) and couldn't bring myself to finish it more quickly. Lately, I've been wanting to get back to it, and I think I will do it soon.

Re: Feature: Games of the Generation - Nathan's Five Favourites

Jairo_MC

I completely agree with the inclusion of Heavy Rain. The game was gripping and I couldn't stop playing it until I got to the end. After I finished I convinced some friends that it was a really good game and, even though they don't like playing games, they played Heavy Rain to the end.
About the other games the only one I played was Flower and, while I kinda liked it, it would never be on my top 5 list.

Re: Heavenly Sword: The Movie Wields Its Blade in June 2014

Jairo_MC

I loved Heavenly Sword but I'm really OK if it's a one and done kind of game. Also the story didn't leave much room for a sequel and I like that because it was self-contained. Having said that, I'm much more excited to see how this movie turns out instead of Ratchet and Clank's.

Re: Talking Point: How Much Do Format Face-Offs Really Matter?

Jairo_MC

@rjejr
Agree with you on all levels. I bought Bayonetta a while ago on the PS3 and loved it. As I haven't read a lot about the differences before I thought it ran fine (I was lucky enough to buy it after the patch). For me, the only thing that makes me think about buying a new system is the exclusives as I can live with a bit graphical gap between systems.

Re: Soapbox: Stop Sobbing Over Retail Releases and Embrace PS4's Smaller Titles

Jairo_MC

Even though indie games are fun, it's the big guns that are going to make me buy a PS4, specially because these days you can get some pretty good indie games on a lot of systems and they don't really need the extra power of a PS4.
That's why I'll be waiting to buy the PS4 when there is a big game that I really want, like Metal Gear Solid V or Final Fantasy XV.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 16

Jairo_MC

I finished Beyond: Two Souls on Thursday, so this weekend, I played and finally finished Mario & Luigi: Dream Team and got to play a lot more of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and I still can't believe that I haven't played it when it first came out as that game is awesome!

Re: Brazil, Get Ready to Hand Over $1,850 for a PlayStation 4 Next Month

Jairo_MC

@get2sammyb
I started a thread commenting this. Being a gamer in Brazil is really expensive and the price they are charging is absurd.
I do download more games on my Playstation systems, because, as @eLarkos commented it is cheaper. However I enjoy physical copies a lot more so I end up waiting for price drops on a lot of games.
A few games that I can find cheap I buy at launch but it's very difficult to find. I was able to do it this year with Bioshock Infinite (terrific game), The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls (just finished it and thought it was great).

Re: PS4 Lineup Swells with Sony Santa Monica Smash Hits

Jairo_MC

I found Escape Plan horrible. I got it cheaper on the PS Vita anniversary and I skipped a lot of levels just to get to the end as soon as possible, get over it and erase it so I could get more memory back.
Sound Shapes is great, but I prefer it on the Vita as I don't see it getting better with a graphical bump, as the music is the best thing about the title.
Flower is good, but I don't see myself in need to play it again...
As for flow I never played it...

Re: First Impressions: Unmasking Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate on PlayStation Vita

Jairo_MC

@charlesnarles @get2sammyb
I just hope both systems get a demo so I can at least make a better decision. Some games use the 3D really well, like Mirror of Fate, but for others the 3D is bad and makes the game worse, like Rayman Origins, which I got on the Vita.
I also want to know if there is some gameplay advantages to the second screen of the 3DS, because that made me chose Virtue's Last Reward for the 3DS instead of VIta.
I just want to sort this out, but I can wait. Killzone Mercenaries, Persona 3 Portable and Pokemon X and Y will keep me busy for a long time..

Re: Review: Beyond: Two Souls (PlayStation 3)

Jairo_MC

@get2sammyb
I enjoyed reading your review a lot. Even though it's getting a lot of criticism I don't regret pre-ordering it as I loved Heavy Rain and from your review I guess this game is even better than that.

Re: Oh No, Vanille's Going to Be in Lighting Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

Jairo_MC

Well, I liked Vanille and her development troughout FFXIII. In the beggining I was really annoyed by Hope. I wanted to slap that boy so much! However as the game progressed and specially after his confrontation with Snow he didn't bother me anymore and I ended the game kinda liking him. In FFXIII-2 he didn't annoy me anymore.
I'm actually pretty excited about Lightning Returns: FF XIII. I just wish they give us real closure like I thought I had at the end of the first XIII.
BTW, I think that I'm in the group that likes every FF game as there isn't one I hate...

Re: Store Update: 24th September 2013 (North America)

Jairo_MC

@Kodeen
Assassin's Creed Bloodlines is a very short game and the AI is kinda bad, so the game is quite easy. I had fun with it, but I think I finished it under six hours. Since you have the Vita, I would suggest you that get Liberation because it is a much better Assassin's Creed experience.

Re: Review: Grand Theft Auto V (PlayStation 3)

Jairo_MC

@rjejr
Yes, the really do. I stopped reading IGN because people in there got really upset when a game they liked didn't get a perfect score or if a game they didn't like got one.
Eurogamer faced it recently because they gave a 9 to GTA V and gave 10 to Zelda: Wind Waker HD.
