And your additional comments (“would’ve been better with multiplayer”) is good feedback for Matt Makes Games. Don’t sell yourself short, you’re quite influencial. Mainly because PushSquare is such a quality site. Keep up the good work.

@Quintumply what would have made it a 9 or 10? I barely heard any negatives in your review, so I was expecting a 9 or 10.

@Neolit Since when does Driveclub have split-screen?? I've owned that game since it came out but I thought it was only single player (which was my biggest criticism of that excellent game).

Towerfall is my favourite! Waiting for a sequel.

I would also add: Magicka 2, Trine 2 and Broforce.

And still dreaming of a Power Stone comeback! Please Please Please Capcom!!!

@get2sammyb has Sony ever clarified what their purposes are for each event throughout the year? I feel like it would help manage expectations if they explained, say, E3 is for announcing new games, Paris is for VR, PSX is to show off gameplay and release dates, etc.

@ellsworth004 yup just spent the last 4 months going through Nioh, and still enjoying it. Not sure I have room for another samurai game. I wonder if Sucker Punch lost some sleep when they saw how good Nioh is.

@ThroughTheIris56 have you played Capcoms Power Stone on Dreamcast? It boggles me that they haven’t tried to keep that going. It could genuinely contend with SSB. A PS4 sequel is on my list of don’t-get-your-hopes-up dream announcements. It could happen... crash bandicoot remaster and FF7 remake were on that list too!

@get2sammyb I just bought this game - I may be doing something wrong but I find the handling atrocious. I hit the wall at nearly every turn, and the game brutally punishes you for it each time. It reminds me of Sonic the Hedgehog's deepest flaw - you're penalised for going too fast.

What did you mean in your review when you said "flawless controller response accompanying an eye-watering sense of speed"? What am I missing here?

Looks great, I’m not a huge fan of the show (though I was during its first few seasons) but I’ll give it a go.

When will the Gran Turismo reviews come out?

Just finished this game. I... wept. And I haven't cried for at least a decade. Unbelievable how much this game struck home. A masterpiece.

This is my favourite PS4 game so far.

Ohhh man. Why does this comments section make my blood boil? I think I might have issues. But let me just say my peace.

FFIX would be the best if:

... the main villain didn't look like a girl
... the final boss wasn't introduced in the last 10 minures of the game
... there was more to do at the end of the game (side quests and mini games)
... the characters were better designed. They had Zidane the thief be one of the strongest damage dealers for some reason. I guess because he's the main character? That role should have been the ninja, but he was weak and oafish looking. Theives are meant to be weak but quick and supportive. And the knight was a doofus with eye-liner. And what was up with that tongue guy? And why no hidden characters like in 6 and 7?

Nope. FFIX is a second tier FF game. Can't compare with 6 or 7.

@Quintumply hmmm. I wonder why they left. Abzû was very Journey-like, which makes me think Giant Squid has some of the more important ex-employees of thatgamecompany. And if that's true, can this sequel be any good?

Playing this currently (I typically buy games 6 months after release to save money).

I am LOVING it. I think it's my favourite PS4 game so far. Way better than Bloodborne in my opinion.

I don't usually buy dlc though.

Geeez this game got hammered by IGN. Such a contrast!

Really really good game bursting with character and I can tell the developers put their whole heart into it. But... well I wish the foul language could be toggled off. It makes things awkward in a household with kids.

I have literally been waiting for this game since I bought my PS4 at launch (and I'm not one to use "literally" inappropriately). Please please please don't disappoint!

Abzu, Axiom Verge or Trackmania Turbo would excite me.

@BAMozzy great point, I hadn't thought of that but I think you're right. Rare comes to mind, those guys made all sorts of games in the 90s, from platform to FPS to fighting to racing. Makes me wonder what sucker punch could do with a new fighting series. Sony could benefit with something to compete with Smash. And speaking of tangents, I'm still holding out for a new Power Stone game.

@get2sammyb how is the ending? Satisfying? I've played a few games that I thought was great for the first 99% but then ended abruptly or confusingly.

Godawful sonic 4? But... You gave it a 7/10. What changed?

Playing it now. I don't think the problem is the 3D; the game just seems incomplete. If they re-add the ability tree, put some variety in the enemies, fix the glitches (especially with the box-making) and make the game longer, it think it's a winner.

Is "5" really average? Are there as many 1s as 10s, 2s as 9s and so on?
I'm willing to bet 6 or 7 is average.

I would love a new Crash game ONLY if its good. I waited so long for an old school Tony Hawk and yeesh what a disappointment.
Anyways I would be happy if they just released an HD collection of the original Naughty Dog PS1 games. Maybe that's even the safer bet?

30fps seems low to me... Aren't most PS4 games going for 60fps these days?

It was disappointing. Not bad, just disappointing. I was hoping for so much more - new sucker punch game, VR launch date, Rime, knack 2. And when dude came out with a Crash shirt, I got really excited. Then amounted to nothing.
Nioh looks cool though. And Ni No Kuni.
