A Reddit rumour claims that inFAMOUS developer Sucker Punch is working on a Spaghetti Western for the PlayStation 4, but there's no truth to it as far as we can tell. The speculation seems to be based upon a bunch of old, unresolved Sony rumours that one poster has just decided to pull together into one place.
The person cites artwork from an undisclosed PlayStation project as the basis of his hypothesis, but our understanding is that the Western concept was commissioned by London Studio as part of a potentially cancelled PlayStation VR game. He also points to an old trademark for a game called Gnomageddon which is surely unrelated.
We can be sure that Sucker Punch is making an open world game, as all of its job listings point to exactly that. The common opinion is that it will be part of a new intellectual property, and not a sequel to the inFAMOUS games. Could we see what it's been working at E3 later this year? We'd put money on it.

Oh please bring back Cole McGrath.
I want a sequel to second son, but I'll be open to a new property as well.
@nathanSF Please no!
@get2sammyb hahahaha
Cole McGrath was better than Delsin!!
Personally I would be happy with a new Infamous but could be a lot more excited by a new IP altogether. Suckerpunch have been very quiet for a long time now so I hope they are ready to show what they are working on soon.
I know new IPs can be seen as 'Risky' - especially from studio's know for making a specific franchise for a long time. Sometimes a new IP doesn't 'appeal' to that person as much as the established franchise did and then if its a big change, worry about whether the studio can pull it off without the 'experience' - look at GG and Horizon.
Years ago, developers would make a multitude of different games. Admittedly they weren't as complex as today in a lot of ways. Still didn't stop them making different games.It seems in recent times, developers are getting more locked into a specific genre if not franchise. MS seem intent on locking its development studios into one franchise - 343 to churn out Halo, Coalition for Gears. Studios like Treyarch didn't start out making just CoD but have know locked into just CoD.
Personally I prefer to see Studio's have the freedom to make the games they want. If that means they need to take a break from an 'established' franchise to make something 'new/different', then so be it - may help keep the franchise moving forward instead of getting stale...
Half Life 3 confirmed.
I've only ever played Infamous Second Son in the franchise and would LOVE a sequel but I'd be happy with whatever..
Cole McGrath was way better than Delsin...
I don't like cole, it's way more fun to play delsin.
Give us Cole i liked this character more or a complete new one would be nice to.
If their making a new Infamous, I'd have it take place after the evil ending in Second Son and have Delsin become the new "Beast" so Cole has to be resurrected to take him down.
Cole>Delsin. But Cole 2>Cole 1
Cole died, get over it. I found Delsin more relatable anyways, so I hope to see Second Son 2 pop up eventually. If it's a new property, that's cool too. I'm just ready to see what they've been doing.
Did Cole die?
As the boat with his body sailed away it was struck by a bold of lightning that looked strangely like a 3.
Yes. I enjoyed Infamous 1 and 2 and the vampire DLC.
Sorry, Bolt of lightning.
So why shouldn't or couldn't Sucker Punch create an Infamous Open World game?
@BAMozzy great point, I hadn't thought of that but I think you're right. Rare comes to mind, those guys made all sorts of games in the 90s, from platform to FPS to fighting to racing. Makes me wonder what sucker punch could do with a new fighting series. Sony could benefit with something to compete with Smash. And speaking of tangents, I'm still holding out for a new Power Stone game.
@IanDavid Not a fan of Fighting games - besides they would be up against MK, SF and Injustice so could struggle against those. personally I would like a Gothic Horror open world game - either action/adventure or survival - maybe a combination of both. I think they could do something like that after Festival of Blood...
@BAMozzy you don't feel like we have enough gothic horror games? With dark souls and bloodborne?
@IanDavid I love the artstyle of Bloodbourne - hate the game and the Souls games too. The souls are hardly gothic horror - more medieval.
Anyway these are almost the same game essentially and completely different from an Action Adventure game that say Infamous: Festival of Blood is. It would be great to see a full scale follow up to that. If not a game with the theme of Bloodbourne with Action Adventure of Infamous and maybe throw in some Survival/RPG elements like Tomb Raider (reboot). Maybe not too much of a radical departure in essence from Infamous in a lot of ways but with a much Darker tone and setting
Shame. There's not enough games set in the western universe. Thank the lord for Red Dead!
i'd prefer they left infamous behind as well. i really liked the first two games, but i just couldn't connect with infamous second son, plus i hated having the main combat controls on R2/L2. even though it looked great, i only got as far as meeting fetch in the story...
@BAMozzy Horizon and Gerrila as example of new can be good
