The more a console goes up in price the less people who can buy one which in turn will cause more studios to shut because they need to market their games to a bigger audience than ever now to be profitable. It's a vicious cycle.
They could have celebrated the community more by not upping console prices. Or atleast putting a vertical stand back in the console like the good old days of the og ps5 and not charging 50 bucks for it.
I finished this game years ago at least five times. Even if I had a pro I'd rather play new games unless of course they added an exclusive DLC expansion. Then I'd try my hardest to get a pro lol.
I really want to play Pragmata, but I don't have 80 AUD right now. Heck I really want the deluxe version, but that's a 110 AUD. Unlike Ubisoft games that go on sale quickly I'll have to wait a while for this I reckon.
I don't play online stuff, but I'm really curious after all the Marathon talk these past months if Sony is happy with how it's doing.
Sure you could look at it as only about 30,000 play regularly, but also that's potentially 30,000 people that are giving Sony money for Cosmetics or whatever purchasable items the game has to help fund it.
I only care about Premium because it means I might get a cool retro game to play. But I have been disappointed so much in that. Ever since the epicness of the original Resident Evils there has been nothing for me. Maybe this month will buck the trend.
People only have so much time to play video games. It sucks but breaking the mold and staying relevant against unstoppable live service games like Fortnight or Roblox is really hard. Most fail it seems.
Or if they are lucky they get a small but dedicated following, but that won't put food on the table.
I found it to be a very bland and boring game. And the amount of loading screens in ridiculous. I remember when Bethesda were releasing games of the generation that will be talked about for decades, but I didn't feel it with Starfield.
If the PS6 costs a 1000 dollars maybe Sony will at least go back to giving us a free vertical stand and not charge 50 bucks for them like they do the slim.
Increased console prices, increased game development cost and less paying customers does not bode well for studios who make even a single misstep with their games. They need to be home runs right out of the gate.
This has been creeping on us for a long time now. You're right Sammy it is unsustainable and eventually something has to give. It doesnt help that everything is going up in price I mean down here 2K want 230 dollars for the big edition of WWE this year.
I could have told you something similar after looking at the psn store here the day after it released. It was like number 16th best selling in Australia. For a AAA game that is not good.
Another thing to think about is maybe console sales are roughly on par with last gen but development costs have risen significantly, so developers need to reach a wider audience than before which can only happen by consoles selling even more than last gen imo.
I wonder if they tried to bring in the younger gamers with 16? I don't know if it sold enough for them but as a long time FF fan I didn't buy it because it looked too 'western' to me.
I think the higher price of consoles this late in the generation has hurt growth. I can't remember a generation where prices went up as the consoles got older.
If the suits who run these companies had their way they would fire every developer, writer and staff in general and use AI for everything if they could. Maybe they will get their wish one day lol.
I know I already said it, but I think a gacha type game like Genshin from Sony would do really well in countries like Japan, Korea & China. If it took off it would make more than any of Sony's first party games easily imo.
Just make sure it's cute, has lots of costumes and all that gacha stuff and your golden.
It's a shame to see Sony lose so much market share in their home country. Honestly I don't really see them as a Japaneses company now more a western one. I mean look at all their big budget games they certainly don't appeal to Japanese audiences like they do western players.
I just wish I knew what the new consoles looked like. That is always a fun thing to find out. They have probably gone through so many scrapped designs already.
The PS5 is my favourite PlayStation since the PS2, but I do wish it was smaller.
And there are plenty of Japanese visual novels I'd love to have on my PS5 that are only on Steam or the Switch, but I deal with it. Not everything releases on everything.
I don't play it, but I am fascinated to see how this game fares over the coming months. All I know is I miss single player FPS campaigns they are barely made anymore. Games like Singularity and Legendary were awesome. I hate playing multiplayer games, so I pretty much don't get to play FPS games anymore.

I have about 15 Resident Evil games on my PSN account and I'd like more, so please release Outbreak 1 and 2 as well as those on rail shooters on modern hardware please Capcom.
I have even more if I count the copies I also have on Xbox. Such a great series.

Re: 'Marathon Is Gonna Be Game of the Year': Actor Ben Starr Jokes It'll Beat GTA 6 Due to Jennifer English
@UltimateOtaku91 then the Steam tracker website I looked at is wrong. It said the most players the game has had is about 88,000 at peak a month ago.

About the same size as the remaster of Oblivion then.
