Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 542

HeavymetalGordon

Dark Souls Remastered (PS5) - 2 lord souls in my pocket, 2 more remaining. After I finish this masterpiece, will definitely need a break from souls games

So Lies of P will have to wait and want to play some shorter games for change. Last of Us 2 Remastered already installed for some time so this might be the first one, then most probably Astrobot with my sons.

And of course I'll be watching Premier League from this weekend. Let's see if Arsenal or Liverpool are able to beat ManCity this season, I'd love to see that happen

Happy gaming, everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 541

HeavymetalGordon

still on Dark Souls Remastered on ps5...slowly progressing and on the way to collect 4 lord souls. Already opened the path to DLC but as FS DLC´s are quite hard or harder than base games, I´d like to level up a bit and only after that jump in to DLC (before final area of base game). I accept the cult status of Dark Souls 1 but it´s definitely not better than Bloodborne in my opinion

Have a nice weekend, everyone!

Re: Poll: Are You Sick of Soulslike Games?

HeavymetalGordon

Right now my favorite genre for sure. It all started with Bloodborne for me which is still my favorite after I played Demon's Souls remake, Elden Ring with DLC (final boss still to beat though). Currently on Dark Souls Remastered, I plan in the future Dark Souls 3, Sekiro (not sure if I'm patient enough for this one) and Lies of P...also would like to give Nioh games and Wo Long a try later.

I tried several demos of soulslike games, but quickly found out they're not for me...there's something special in those cooked by FromSoft, hope Miyazaki still have something for us in the future

Re: Poll: What Are Your Summer Gaming Habits?

HeavymetalGordon

no change in the summer for me...married with 2 sons I have the same limited time for gaming during all year I play mainly in the evenings/nights when they sleep, so it all depends only on the game/s - once I´m hooked, then I play until finish the game. Usually I work on my backlog, currently returned back to Dark Souls Remastered - I quit 2,5 years ago on Capra Demon. Now it was 4th/5th try and defeated it...need to come back to Elden Ring/Shadow of The Erdtree - final boss made me rage quit, but I´ll be back for sure later this year.

Ideal summer for me, spend time with family during a day, gaming evening/night whenever I can. Enjoy your summer and happy gaming, everyone!

Re: Feature: The 10 Best PS5 Games of 2024 So Far

HeavymetalGordon

it´s Shadow of the Erdtree for me, despite I still haven´t beaten final boss - like basic game also DLC is just pure art in my eyes and hard to beat souls games FromSoft creating...

Among games released this year, I played demo of Stellar Blade and Prince of Persia and liked them both so definitely on my list of future purchases, and ofc I plan to buy Astrobot for my sons who adore Astro´s Playroom, easily their most played game on ps5

Re: Helldivers 2 Director Defends Elden Ring Difficulty: 'Always Cater to a Select Audience'

HeavymetalGordon

so far I finished Demon´s Souls remake, Bloodborne and Elden Ring (currently playing DLC), but gave up on Dark Souls 1 (played remastered version) because I simply was not motivated enough to be honest. Anyway plan to give DS3 a try some day, definitely don´t plan to play Sekiro - this would be very frustrating for me, I know myself

I play maybe 1 or most 2 souls games a year and change them with some easier games, story driven games where I can choose normal or even easy difficulty, but sometimes I´m just in the mood to try something more challenging and if I´m motivated enough then I happily embrace the challenge. I like FS souls games, they are really special in my opinion and hope Miyazaki will not change anything how FS make them

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for July 2024 Announced

HeavymetalGordon

I changed the tier from Extra to Essential last month...not because Extra was bad or too expensive but simply because I mainly play games I buy. And I find Essential completely fine for me that from time to time I get something for free...this month is OK I believe, I´ll add all 3 to my library and definitely will give NHL and BL3 a try someday

Re: Poll: One Year Later, What Are Your Thoughts on Final Fantasy 16?

HeavymetalGordon

I'm not a FF fan and FF16 is my first game in series I wanted to play just because it's different. I tried FF7 remake demo and finished it but it's simply not for me. I finished 16 2-3 months ago and for me it's great game, good story and perfect soundtrack. I skipped most of side quests based on reviews and concentrated on main story and I enjoyed it. Eikon boss fights are real highlight of this game, but rpg elements are almost none or have minor impact on gameplay. I'm not sure if I ever come back to DLC's as they do not change how the base game ends and just don't feel motivated enough to play them. Anyway, if 17 would follow 16, I'd like to play it but would definitely improve on rpg elements

Re: Hidetaka Miyazaki 'Knows for a Fact' FromSoftware Devs Want a Bloodborne PC Port

HeavymetalGordon

once Demon´s Souls remake will be on PC, then we can start dreaming for any BB remaster/remake for PS5/6 and PC, but you never know with Sony...I´m shocked Sony still hasn´t released Demon´s Souls on PC, or managed to arrange 60fps patch for BB ps4pro/ps5.

The biggest surprise would be if Bluepoint is working on BB2...I know they should be working on new IP but still, that would blow my mind for sure

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 533

HeavymetalGordon

After some very busy weeks at work and tired at evenings to play any game, I'm finally getting back to gaming (slowly). Last days I played little of Elden Ring, but still not sure if I'll buy DLC day1 to be honest. I finally watched Last of Us season1 so I picked up remaster of part2 during Days of Play and will probably start that. On switch I picked up Ori 1st one during sale so I want to play that and hopefully finish SM Wonder too.

Of course, I'll be watching EURO! Hope to see lot of good matches. Have a nice weekend, everybody!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 528

HeavymetalGordon

currently nothing in particular to be honest...waiting for Elden Ring DLC I guess. I´t s been really couple of very busy weeks at work and after that not in the mood for any gaming. If I find some time I continue with Super Mario Wonder on switch, but on ps5 not that much.

And during the weekends it´s just about the NHL and NBA play-offs and now also will be watching Ice Hockey Championships in Czech Rep. also interested in remaining Premier League rounds, looks like Man City will win the title but personally rooting to Arsenal or Liverpool but LIV is out of competition for first place if I´m not mistaken. However if Real Madrid will win the Champions League final then it will be easier for me to cope with the disapointment if City will win the PL

Anyway, enjoy nice weather and happy gaming!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 525

HeavymetalGordon

Should be rainy and cold weather where I live during whole weekend so looking forward to watching FA Cup semis, NHL play-offs in the TV, maybe some NBA too...

PS5 wise, I´m playing Unravel 2 with my older son, the younger one is all about Astro´s Playroom - hope there will be some sequel in the future.

Me personally working on some trophies in Elden Ring - I found out that I missed one legendary armament in Leyndel, Royal Capital so that trophy only possible on ng+ which I´m going to start anyway due to 2 other endings pending for the platinum. Plan is to get the plat till DLC arrives so let´s see.

Happy gaming and enjoy the weekend, everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 524

HeavymetalGordon

Back to Elden Ring - trying to get the platinum trophy. My original playthrough took 174 hrs and collecting the missing items just showed me how many places still not discovered - simply amazing!

Apart from that I played Stellar Blade demo and will not buy the game just yet because I´m just not in the mood for this kind of game after finishing FF16. However demo was good and Eve is...ya´ll know

Also helping out my sons in Unravel 2 - picked it up for them but they are still young and not so patient and skillful

When I´m not on the TV, working on my playthrough in Super Mario Bros. Wonder on switch lite.

Happy gaming and enjoy the weekend!

Re: Video: Our Favourite PS5 Games of 2024 So Far

HeavymetalGordon

nothing special for me I would buy day1 so far...I was working on my backlog (DLC´s for RE4 and RE Village), FFXVI.

However I tried some demos and really think to buy Granblue Fantasy: Relink and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown this year. I tried also Stellar Blade demo this weekend and it was OK but as I just finished FFXVI few days back, really don´t plan to buy it any soon.

The main focus is Elden Ring DLC and potentially Silent Hill 2 remake if it´s really good (I have my doubts here). Plus, let´s see if there are any surprises out of rumoured PS showcase, new Astro game this year would be great

Re: Poll: How Much Do You Care About 60fps on PS5?

HeavymetalGordon

Since I game on ps5, I only played Bloodborne on 30fps because there is no other choice. However I refuse to accept 30fps only on native ps5 games and will avoid such ps5 games. As my TV supports 120hz, I would appreciate if there are more games at least with 40fps mode like many Sony 1st party ones provide

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 522

HeavymetalGordon

FFXVI (PS5)...boss fights are fantastic but little too long imo. I fought Bahamut for maybe 30min, hell yeah it was epic. I'm currently at 73% of main story progress so looking forward to how the story will continue;

This week I bought Switch Lite to relax with some Nintendo exclusives when I can't game on TV (unfortunately don't have good enough internet to go with portal). Started with Mario Bros. Wonder as main game and already tried several free demos.

Plus today watching big derby ManCity vs Arsenal - hope it will be great match.

Happy Easter, everyone!

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for April 2024 Announced

HeavymetalGordon

Nothing for me this time...my ps+ extra will end in 2 months and I'm sure I don't want to renew. Not because of bad library of games but because of lack of time as I spend most of time playing games I buy physical. I tried a lot of games of course but I don't remember when I finished something...for me extra simply not worth anymore, and tbh not even sure if I stay with essential either because I don't play online but if there will be good price I might change my mind

Re: Stellar Blade PS5 Demo Drops This Week, Progress Carries to the Full Game

HeavymetalGordon

more demos please!

if there would have been no demo for FF16, I would not even bother thinking about buying this game. I did try Granblue Fantasy Relink recently and despite it´s completely out of my comfort zone, I really liked it and will probably buy later this year.

also feel that if there is a demo (for new IP at least), looks like developer/publisher really trusts in the product...good sign too for the gamers

Re: Rumour: PS5 Pro Is Up to Three Times Faster Than PS5 as Specs Surface

HeavymetalGordon

Let's wait for official announcement by Sony...I'm afraid every game will need a pro patch and it will take some time and god knows if they will be motivated to do it. Sure 1st party studios will probably prepare them some day but there are not so many ps5 games. Will wait for the price too, I'm willing to sell my og one and buy a pro but it will have to make sense to me - maybe if CDPR will come with patch for Cyberpunk, then I'd consider for sure as I still had not a chance to play this game

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 519

HeavymetalGordon

I stopped playing AC Mirage after 2-3hrs because I could not resist and started FF16. Currently 11hrs in and having great time. Sure, there are lot of cutscenes but the story with combat are so good and interesting that I can easily forgive the game for them. I have to mention the music in the game, mainly during Eikon fights, it's absolutely stunning! Never paid too much attention to music in video games but that changed with Doom games and then of course with souls games. Now I will check out also other FF soundtracks too.

I also downloaded F1 23 from ps+. New F1 season started and I did not play F1 game for years so great chance to play F1 again. Just few trials and races done and it's really fun.

Have a nice weekend, everyone!

Re: Reaction: The Problem with PlayStation Right Now

HeavymetalGordon

me as working dad, I prefer shorter SP games like 10-15hrs is completely fine and there is also higher possibility to replay/ng+ like with 30+ hrs games.

There's no way Spiderman2 cost 300mil if it's almost the same as previous games - this is really not sustainable long term.

Sony should probably reconsider ps5 pro now and rather bring ps6 in 2026 with full BC. In these hard times, I don't see this sell really good as it would be quite expensive too.

I really hope Sony will make some good decisions now and show us 1st party games very soon

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 517

HeavymetalGordon

During the week I finished Separate Ways and Shadows of Rose DLC's just to fully wrap up RE4 and Village. After that I tried several games from ps+ but nothing really clicked with me (Evil West, Calisto Protocol, Oddworld Soulstorm, SH Short message) so jumped into AC Mirage I have from day1 but have other games as priority. Played 1 hour yesterday and it's quite good so will continue today. Plan to finish some shorter games from backlog before my next big thing - FF16. I played demo last year and liked it a lot. Considering a purchase of Prince of Persia The lost crown too but should definitely finish some games first I already have

Have a great weekend and happy gaming!

Re: A Bloodborne Remake on PS6 Might Have More 'Value', Creator Suggests

HeavymetalGordon

it would make perfect sense to prepare BB remake for ps6 launch...DS started it all but BB is considered by many as true masterpiece so has definitely bigger potential to convince to buy ps6.

Business wise, I don't understand why DS remake is not on PC already. They put there Sackboy where it was clear even to non-experts like me that this will fail on PC. Looking at success of ER, I would not be surprised if DS remake is already in the works for PC. BB remaster/remake potentialy day1 on ps and PC maybe not seems real now but who knows in few years...
