Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 515

Cyberpunk for me. Really REALLY enjoying it! Bought the game at launch šŸ–„ļø šŸ”„
Spent 15 minutes fighting a cyberpsycho only for him to get stuck under the map so I couldn’t loot šŸ™ŒšŸ»

Quickly uninstalled and waited all this time to revisit. Was worth the wait for sure!

I am stupidly hyped! The build up for the GTA V release was sublime! I watched GTAV o’clock every week for any little nuggets of info on offer!

I was one of the first to find a Peyote collectible when that update hit. It was such a cool scavenger hunt on the forums!

The only concern I have is that they’ll be doubling down on online rather than the story, maybe more of an MMO vibe. I reckon this’ll be the last GTA in a traditional sense. I guess we’ll see!

Yep I’m in for this!

Cyberpunk was a day one purchase for me but when an important NPC got stuck inside a set of stairs and essentially broke my play through I quickly uninstalled and sold my copy on eBay! Been waiting so long for a big update to deliver the goods so I can actually enjoy the experience I thought I was getting originally! This one’s looking legit!

I think the main reason FromSoft get a free pass so to speak when it comes to frame rate/graphics/reused animations etc is due largely to the quality of the content. From soft games are one of the last few AAA developers who aren’t putting content behind paywalls, tacking on endless dlc or even adding micro transactions! You get exactly what you pay for 10 fold with FromSoft games, I’m very excited to see what they do with an open world!

For anyone struggling to get into this game here’s what I’d recommend -

Play it on Blood and broken bones (hard)

Do a bunch of Witcher Contracts to really get yourself into the mood of the game

Don’t focus too heavily on the ā€˜?’ marks, I tended to only visit them when travelling to a mission marker.

Limit your fast travel (best way to get sucked into the fantastic sound design)

Watch a couple of beginner tips YouTube videos to explain the more complex gameplay loops (potions, oils etc)

Make sure movement is set to alternative! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE SURE!!

Play all the secondary quests in an area before progressing too far with the main quests.

Witcher contracts are great but you can always go back to them and use the enemy level scaling setting for a higher challenge.

Most importantly don’t rush!! The amount of content is overwhelming so if you play this game like a checklist you won’t have much fun!

I hope this helps someone! This is still my favourite game to date and I think everyone needs to give it a try!
