At this point, I have managed to skip the PS5 generation. It's not like I haven't wanted to get one for years, but after the supply shortages of the pandemic, sales rarely happening and even having the price of consoles INCREASE over time (tariffs?) instead of decreasing over time, I figured "why bother?". So yeah, I'm not one to buy consoles at launch, but since I've basically skipped PS5 while still playing PS4 games (backlog + cross releases), I just might take the plunge (if rumors are true) in a couple years.
@DennisReynolds definitely stick with PS5 and wait for PS6. That's what I'd do if I had a base or slim PS5. Hell, I'm still on PS4 and I'm seriously considering skipping this gen and just wait to get PS6 on launch day. We'll see!
@DennisReynolds I'm on the same boat. I don't even like spending more than $300 for a phone whenever it's time to replace one due to damage, theft or whatever. But then people have no problem spending $500-$1000+ on a phone, so why not spend $500+ on a console I won't replace for 10 years.
At least that's gonna be my logic by the time the PS5 pro comes out. I'd definitely keep that one for 10 years, just as I'm currently holding on to my PS4 since games are still being released for it.
Hell, maybe I'll wait for the PS6 if the PS4 is still kicking by then, lol.
I better finish playing Elden Ring, because there's no way I'm paying $80 to play any game with online functionality after my subscription expires next year.
I'll be on the lookout for sales on subs whenever (or if) they happen. Bad Sony, bad.
Too bad (for them) Elden Ring isn't a Sony exclusive, 'cos that's all I play every waking hour I'm off work (I don't even think I'm halfway done, story-wise)
PS Now lets you stream games (like Netflix?). Does Xbox game pass let you do the same or can you also download games to keep in you hard drive as long as you're subscribed?
Stardew Valley is at the top of my list. I never got it for PS4 since I got it first on GOG and I haven't really felt l like purchasing it again. At least not without a discount, since i already have it.
Anyway, that's it. The other games can be whatever.
So, if PS+ is currently $60, I wonder if the new tiers would be even more expensive than that or if they'll adjust prices and actually lower regular PS+
@get2sammyb Agreed. I always wait for a sale, specially if it's a digital version. Unless it's an indie game I've heard nothing but great things about, I'm not spending $70 on a "Triple A" game. I'm currently hooked on Children of Mortal (which I'm ashamed to admit I bought on sale last month) but I'm having so much fun with it that I bought their only DLC they have (even tho the money is going to charity, which actually made me WANT to pay for it)

Re: PS4 Is Still Getting Firmware Update Improvements, By the Way
@RainbowGazelle Same here. I still haven't gotten a PS5, mostly due to most of the games I'm interested in are still coming out for PS4

Re: Poll: Which Bethesda Franchise Will PS5 Miss the Most?
@RBMango At some point in the not so far future, I'll be getting a PS5. By the time TES 6 comes out, hopefully I'll also have a decent PC to play it
Re: Deal: PS Plus Subscriptions Just $26.99 for a Full Year
@NOLIMITGHST Same here. I always buy it as close to $30 as possible, so the moment I saw it here for $27? Yeah, I had to buy it.
