Re: Talking Point: PS6 In 2027 - How Do You Feel About Sony's Next-Gen Console?

Fredendil

At this point, I have managed to skip the PS5 generation. It's not like I haven't wanted to get one for years, but after the supply shortages of the pandemic, sales rarely happening and even having the price of consoles INCREASE over time (tariffs?) instead of decreasing over time, I figured "why bother?". So yeah, I'm not one to buy consoles at launch, but since I've basically skipped PS5 while still playing PS4 games (backlog + cross releases), I just might take the plunge (if rumors are true) in a couple years.

@DennisReynolds I'm on the same boat. I don't even like spending more than $300 for a phone whenever it's time to replace one due to damage, theft or whatever. But then people have no problem spending $500-$1000+ on a phone, so why not spend $500+ on a console I won't replace for 10 years.

At least that's gonna be my logic by the time the PS5 pro comes out. I'd definitely keep that one for 10 years, just as I'm currently holding on to my PS4 since games are still being released for it.

Hell, maybe I'll wait for the PS6 if the PS4 is still kicking by then, lol.

@get2sammyb Agreed. I always wait for a sale, specially if it's a digital version. Unless it's an indie game I've heard nothing but great things about, I'm not spending $70 on a "Triple A" game. I'm currently hooked on Children of Mortal (which I'm ashamed to admit I bought on sale last month) but I'm having so much fun with it that I bought their only DLC they have (even tho the money is going to charity, which actually made me WANT to pay for it)
