Re: Remember to Buy Horizon Forbidden West on PS4, And Not PS5

@Don_Corleone I think you jumped the gun. He wasn’t asking for anything free. He was literally saying how great capitalism is and how it gets people out of poverty. Saying there is no perfect system. Unless you believe in a Utopia. He wasn’t asking or demanding for anything free. I mean his post before he even says buy the game at full price to support the dev if you can. Maybe there was another post I missed. But not sure why you ranted on him.

@Porco look cartridges for Nintendo weren’t considered cutting edge in 1996. Many questioned why Nintendo went this route and because of piracy was one of them. Also n64 games weren’t all $80. I don’t know why people keep saying this. Super Mario 64, Goldeneye 64, Turok 1&2, and Star Fox 64 were $80. But Ocarina of Time was $60. But most games didn’t cost $80.

Saying that people are paying absurd prices for a base game is absurd. You can still pay $60 for just about any new release right now. You only have to pay the extra $10 if you want the next generation version. But some games get a free upgrade. Yet somehow these are absurd prices. But the real price should be over $100 for the base game. There was an article that broke down what games would cost by each year based on inflation. 2010 was the year $60 games should have ended. I mean movies and music have easily increased their prices in various ways. But nope.

Yes companies make money off mtx and dlc. But neither are forced on you. They aren’t needed to finish games. Most mtx are skins, colors, and etc. DLCs have become separate stories that do connect to the main game. But again they aren’t needed. Yes publishers like EA have made mtx for straight up greed. Others have to but they get busted.

You say tech as the reason for n64 but fail to see that is the same reason for prices today. The price to make games like HZD, HFW, Spider-man, GoW, and etc cost anywhere from 75 mil to 150 mil. That was the ps4 era. The new consoles, PS5 and X1X, are gonna double that. That is just the price for making the games. Doesn’t include marketing. Games are way more expensive to make and are constantly using cutting edge tech. Games today cost way more then the n64 era to make.

@Don_Corleone exactly. Plus, PS Now is the same service. Has way more games for the same price. GP is good for the small 20 hour games. That is it really. Games come and go to quick to play and invest time into much larger games. Plus, dlc isn’t included either. Gears 5, you had to pay full price(no gp), half price(gp reg), and even with ultimate GP you still had to pay for dlc.

@Stragen8 I’m not sure what the price of a PS5 game makes Xbox more attractive. Both charge the same price. Both have a Netflix platform for games. PS Now actually has more then twice as many games when compared to GP.

As for HFW, you can get a physical copy for the ps5. Just get the standard game or the steel box edition. Both come with a physical copy. The bigger editions with the statues don’t.

Re: PlayStation Wants to Acquire Firms with Abundant Creativity to Enhance First-Party Portfolio

@Medic_Alert oh God come on. You are and the commenter you agree with are acting like these studios are being held at gun point to to sign over their companies. Companies like Sony and Nintendo tend to do well with their studios. Plus, the studios have to agree before the buy. Insomniac is proof of how well this works. They made games for Sony for years and they were their biggest hits. They tried other platforms but PlayStation was where they made their money. Now they have continued backing from Sony. Instead of only backing when working on a Sony only game. They get their creative freedom and the security to go with it.

There are companies though that are bad for business. EA and Vivendi are 2 of them. EA has shown what their devs can do if given the right resources and time but that came after Disney most likely called them up. Vivendi tried to takeover Ubisoft thru a hostile takeover and it failed. But that company proved to be just as poison. So yes there are companies out there just to make money and nothing else but Sony has proven it cares about the games. Just look at the lineup of franchises they have.

This whole bs about taking from another platform is a joke. You get the few whiners and criers online who say exclusives are bad and hurt the devs or customers. But when those multi platform games sell poorly on one platform you don’t see those people saying anything then. Games like FF7, KH3, and many other games that were exclusives to the PlayStation don’t sell as well on say the Xbox.

Xbox bought a ***** ton of devs and this worries me. As they have the backing they tend to cancel or shut their devs down. Had Sony or Nintendo bought Inxile or Obsidian I be happy but MS out of the 3 is a worry. Look at the state of Halo Infinite. Bragging about how powerful the XSX is and then they show that Halo demo.

Re: Madden NFL 21 Devs Comment As #FixMaddenFranchise Trends

Face76

If Madden hasn’t really changed in years then the NHL series is much worse off. I stopped playing years ago when Be a Pro became popular and franchise suffered. Madden and FIFA are EA’s Crown Jewels. If these games aren’t changing compared to their older versions then EA isn’t giving a ***** about NHL. EA used to be the leader in sports. They had Madden, FIFA, NHL, College football, NBA Live, Boxing, Golf, and etc. But now it’s just Madden and FIFA making EA their money. Look at FIFA, at the beginning of the year EA had 53% of the sales from FIFA come from the Ultimate packs. Meaning the packs were outselling the game they were in. Lol. Madden is just as bad. Did the NHL series even move to the frostbite engine? I know Madden did with the whole story part of Madden that was introduced. EA lost to NBA2k. Tried taking on MLB the Show and failed. This is why I want a 2k hockey game or someone making a big NHL type game. Same for football. 2k keep EA on their toes. NHL was losing to the 2k series until they added the stick control. 2kNHL never recovered. This is a perfect example of bending the only sports dev for football and soccer that matter. It’s like the South Park episode with informative murder porn, EA people are rubbing their nipples saying "oh I’m sorry, why don’t you try another football game." When there is none. Lol.

Re: Reliable Source Rips Up Recent Assassin's Creed Ragnarok Rumours

Face76

@cloud36426 I’m not surprised. I think the title will having something to do with the end of the trilogy. The the first one was Origins and that was the start. Odyssey is about the journey. So though I guess Ragnarok in theory works, AC games don’t usually use a subtitle that has a specific meaning or event. Meaning Ragnarok is the world ending when Thor fights the World Serpent. No mistaking that word or using in a broad sense like Origins or Odyssey. We saw how the AC brotherhood started in Origins. Odyssey showed how the Isu are involved and I think the 3rd game will lead into AC1. This trilogy will connect to the first AC game.

Re: PlayStation Players Are Still Gaming's Biggest W*nkers

I mean of course the ps is used the most. Between the PS3 and PS4 it’s close to 200 mil consoles. There is like 65 mil more users on the PS3/PS4 vs the 360/X1. Which means that Xbox has a higher rate when compared to the number of consoles.

I will say I never used a console for porn or even mobile devices for that matter. Man I would guess these are kids without access to PCs. Lol

Re: Xbox Germany Mucks Up by 'Announcing' Final Fantasy VII Remake for Xbox One

Face76

@snakemake how is it false marketing? Lol. I mean if you own a PS4 when it comes out you can play. If somehow it comes to the Xbox a year or so down the line doesn’t mean anything. It doesn’t say anything about Xbox later or anything. Timed exclusives are fine. It gets that console some extra sales. Remember Sony and MS are in the business to make money. So if Sony or MS can strike a deal that gets them a game first for a period time they will do it. Don’t forget MS spent like 100 mil to get GTAIV timed exclusive dlc.

Re: Xbox Germany Mucks Up by 'Announcing' Final Fantasy VII Remake for Xbox One

Face76

@JoeBlogs who wins? Is the people who only have a PS4. Plus, you don’t have to wait for the game. PlayStation and FF are synonymous with each other. So this being on the PS4 is no surprise. If FFVII didn’t make it to the Xbox it wouldn’t be missed. FFVII can move PS4’s. Where if it does go to the Xbox they will be lucky to hit 6 figure sales. Japanese games don’t sell well on the Xbox period.

Plus, these type of games always sell poorly in the Xbox. The last exclusive rpg Xbox had was during the 360, tales of Vesperia. That sold poorly on the 360. That is part of the reason it got re released. The last Xbox exclusive was Tomb Raider. Again sold poorly. The only reason Xbox got that game was because they paid for the marketing. I mean the Tomb Raider before it sold millions on the PS3/PS4 and barely broke a 1 mil on 360/X1.
