@Cutmastavictory What are you even talking about. It’s about censorship, not the things that you describe. If they censor a random part of the game here, there’s no reason they can’t censor violence (which is illegal in the real world) from Red Dead for example.

Not to mention, that clearly the part that they removed from this game, was not the worst part of it, it’s just a random selection.

It’s a simple principal, it’s not that hard to understand why censorship is bad.

@Cutmastavictory I’ll speak up for it... Because there’s nothing ‘fake’ about being upset that the content that was intended to be in a game to play, has been removed without reason. It’s not about ‘nudes’... it’s about whether they should censor what the developers have created, or leave it up to the gamer to decide if they want it or not.

This is especially obvious when ‘extreme’ violence is seen to be totally fine, but a fan that blows clothing, is not. The judgements are arbitrary and shouldn’t be made by a publisher.

They haven’t blurred out nudes here, they’ve determined where ‘they’ think a line in the sand is, seemingly at random, given what other content is available in both this game and others.
Meanwhile, it seems Nintendo hasn’t, which is both great... and strange.

Censorship is not a good thing IMO.

@Cheski If you only play offline it obviously won’t matter, but most people seem to have missed the point anyway - that if everyone is playing the same game, then splitting the community just makes it slower to find matches and quicker for the game to die off in general because the player base is separated.

So it’s not really a matter of opinion about it, it’s obviously a fact that it has the potential to improve online experiences... if done correctly.

@Wesker Well... no... 8 is always better than the 7... To ‘that’ reviewer. obviously a 7 out of 10 game can be better than 8 out of ten to a different person but clearly to that reviewer the 8 out of ten game is definetely and completely and always better than the 7. I know what you’re saying but the point is that the review scores have a meaning and that meaning is dependent on the reviewers perspective.

@get2sammyb Hi Sammy - the only thing I have to comment on about your mindset is that just because there is nothing left to say, doesn’t mean no one cares about crossplay.

I haven’t posted since it was first announced, but that’s just because a) clearly Sony is staying put with their decision and b) what more is their to say? I want crossplay, they won’t give it. That’s it - but I still want it.

I’m sure many people are in the same boat just because they are not continuously posting about it.

Things die down but it doesn’t neccesarily mean that peoples requests changed.

If the topic came up again, do people post ‘Then’... if the answer is yes then that’s your answer I suspect.

@Cutmastavictory

I am part of the PS4 player base - but I enjoy playing on my porch on my Switch all the time - it’s fantastic. But I can’t play both because Sony won’t allow cross play or account mixing.

In fact - because Sony is acting this way I have chosen to play fortnite on Switch ONLY because I can’t carry anything over so why bother playing both.

It’s more than an ‘issue in the slightest’ for me and others.

The point here, is that they are intentionally blocking something at the detriment of their image as well as conveinience of their own player base.

I’m not even sure how they are allowed to considering the login is third party anyway.

Re: Massive Battle Chasers: Nightwar PS4 Patch Promises a Much Improved Game

FTL

@ShiggleMan @BraveFencerZan @meppi Personally... I prefer the way releases were prior to the addition of internet access, where devs were ‘forced’ to release a game after bugs were reduced to a rare occurance. People might say that these bugs weren’t found prior to release, however a quick general look at the bugs found in games before there was the ability to update online, and then compare that to games these days now that updates are available, will show a pretty obvious increase in problems on or after release day. It’s very much about ‘not delaying’, hence the ‘day one patch’ (which is often huge) that is for almost every game these days.

Nintendo first party has been doing much better at getting this right with small patches, but many of the rest, are rediculous.

Re: Gran Turismo Sport's Demo Will Break Your Bandwidth Cap

FTL

@KitsuneNight It’s like they really don’t want anyone to buy physical anymore. The game on the disc might as well be just a key because it’s half finished... rediculous.

I miss the days of cartridge... thankfully Nintendo (first party) still releases mostly finished games... and on cartridge too which is fun. Zelda’s had about 4 patches (I wasn’t counting) and they have all been around 1 to 3 hundred MB... same with Arms/MK8/Splatoon2... but something like Forza getting 65GB patches.. on day one..!!!?? wt actual f.

I just don’t get these massive patches.. Seriously though... how as consumers do we let them get away with releasing games that need such epic patches immediately.

@get2sammyb

I agree with those as well, but here's a few you're missing (IMO)

  • Wip3out Special Edition (or even 2097/XL - both of which were big improvements on the original).....
  • Colin Mcrae Rally....
  • Oddworld : Abes Oddyssey (an excellent platformer).....
  • Speed Freaks (a strange but extremely fun alternative to CTR).....
  • Croc (personally more memorable for trying to compete with Mario, than Spyro).....
  • Street Fighter Alpha 3 or Dark Stalkers 3.....
  • IQ / Kurushi (A unique and entertaining action puzzle game)

Re: Sony's Jim Ryan Just Said a Stupid Thing About Backwards Compatibility

FTL

@Brasilkilla @get2sammyb

For me personally, many games that I have always loved, are changed/not available on new platforms. eg. Wipeout 2097/wipeout3 were my favourite wipeouts for example, but now the remake is focussed on hd/fury/2048 (and it's about controls and mechanics, not tracks or graphics in that case) and . Or just because it doesn't look as good, the Original Timesplitters is an amazingly fun and full featured local multiplayer fps that's not available anymore.

The first 18months? it's about having one console sitting there that plays all your favourites. Just because there's a new game doesn't change that.

Re: Site News: Push Square Readers Select the 64 Greatest PlayStation Games of All Time

FTL

@Get2Sammyb my OCD side is showing, but wasn't PSone the name of the re-released mini version of the console rather than the platform called Playstation / PS1 ? =)

Meanwhile, these PS1 games missed out much to my surprise.

Colony Wars / Vengeance
Wipeout 2097 / Wipeout 3 SE (HD gets a mention at least).
Twisted Metal
Driver
IQ

and MAYBE even MicroMachines V3 PS1 while not MicroMachines 96, was still great fun.
