Re: PS5 Fans Furious As Microsoft Ships DOOM: The Dark Ages with Just 85MB on the Disc

Cypher_Unknown

Forza Horizon 5, Indiana Jones, and now Doom. Three games from the 2nd richest company in the world which either don't have a physical release or are provided with a physical release that is effectively pointless.

Three games that, with a proper physical release, I would have purchased at full price on the day of release.

And to think Microsoft championed game preservation and people insist they are pro consumer.

As always, the moment Microsoft find even the smallest bit of momentum, they f**k it up spectacularly.

Thankfully, there are so many more games to play I can easily opt out of Microsoft's desperate attempts to march us towards an adorably all digital future which they so obviously desire.

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on PS5 Pro?

@Member_the_game Ah, fair point about looking to the future. I hadn't considered that angle.

I would say that when considering the PS6, this will be the start of a new generation and Sony will likely want to ensure a large install base as soon as possible, so as their "core" console, they will likely price it competitively (as they did with the PS4 and PS5).

The PS5 Pro is more likely considered a niche product with a small target audience, hence the cost. My only real disappointment with the Pro is the lack of a disc drive as standard. That's quite a big omission in my mind.

@Member_the_game Your hobby is gaming, so to say that the PS5 Pro has priced you out of your favourite hobby is inaccurate. Does the existence of Ferrari mean that the average joe is priced out of motoring? Of course not, as there are still plenty of cost effective means available.

The argument over cost is understandable, but often misguided. The PS5 Pro is an option, nothing more. Existing PS5 consoles will continue to function and existing PS5 games will continue to play. If you're on PS5 already, nothing will change. If you want some extra bells and whistles, and you consider the cost acceptable, then the PS5 Pro is for you. If you don't, then you were never the target market in the first place.

Re: Reaction: What Next for PlayStation?

The cycle is pretty obvious - we hear very little from Sony and we start to worry they're falling behind or becoming complacent, especially when every day seems to bring with it a new episode of "Phil Spencer says...". Then they do communicate, and we see that they know exactly what they're doing and our faith is restored.

Would I like them to engage more? Yes, but only if they're saying something of substance.

Re: Bethesda Says 'Some' Future Games Won't Launch on PS5, PS4

With the push to make Gamepass available on everything, surely you just buy a month or two of Gamepass when the exclusives warrant it, play them on your laptop, or the inevitable TV stick, and then just let your membership end until the next worthwhile game comes out?

A couple of games played over a couple of months for the fraction of the cost of buying those games outright.

If this were happening a generation or two ago, when you would HAVE to buy an Xbox console to play Xbox exclusives, I could imagine people being annoyed, but MS appear to be making it very easy to play their games for next to nothing.

Re: Even More Sony Bigwigs Spotted in San Francisco as PS5 Reveal Nears

@Bobskie77 Oh dear. You claimed that EVERY PS4 has crashed, with no evidence other than your own experience and some commenters on Reddit. We offered our experience that we have suffered no such crashes, rendering your claim factually inaccurate, and now you're throwing a strop and insulting people.

Wind your neck in before you make a bigger fool of yourself.

Re: Even More Sony Bigwigs Spotted in San Francisco as PS5 Reveal Nears

@Bobskie77 Utter nonsense in reference of all PS4's crashing. You have no evidence of this and only make this claim to try and add weight to your bias. For the record, I have both a launch PS4 and a day one PS4 Pro. Neither have crashed as you described.

As for your "20 years of gaming", is that another attempt to strengthen your argument? It adds nothing to the validity of your claim. I've been gaming for approximately 40 years. Does that make me right and you wrong?
