Re: This Awesome LEGO PS2 Set Will Be Officially Considered for Production

CaptainRPG

Just so people know. This is via lego ideas and the odds of it becoming a real set are very very slim if at all. Out of the last review period which featured 48 projects some of which have been brands lego has worked with before in the past only 1 of them was chosen to be an official lego set that set being a collection of mineral crystals. So yes while this project does look incredible please understand that it is extremely unlikely that this will become an official lego set.

Re: PC Players Are Fuming Until Dawn, God of War Ragnarok Appear to Require PSN Logins

CaptainRPG

@Callmegil we know because we already have proof. God of war, horizon, returnal, days gone, predator hunting grounds, spiderman, spiderman miles morales, ratchet and clank and helldivers 2 all work on steam without the use of a psn account. Like you said it's an inconvenience but the are not doing anything to justify it. If they prove there is a reason for it I will gladly eat my words but these are games that do not require online access they are offline single player games and forcing people to have a psn account sign in means you need to be online to play them. And with the rise of portable pc units like the steam deck and rog ally offline steam games are starting to see a bit more love. Like it's was a joy to replay ratchet and clank again on my steam deck just taking it with me on my bus commutes was really fun (load times aside) and if it required a psn login I wouldn't have had a chance to play it.

Right now it's an inconvenience in the future is going to be a problem. What happens years from now when Sony eventually shuts down the authentication check on these games they are just going to be bricked. The system relies the game checking the account so what happens when that step is removed. If the game can't check to give you access then it will default to just not give you access because in its mind you did not present that you have a psn account. People are paying for single player games that will eventually be bricked and these are the definitive versions of these games.

Re: PC Players Are Fuming Until Dawn, God of War Ragnarok Appear to Require PSN Logins

@DonkeyFantasy maybe for you it's an inconvenience but not for others. Because of the psn account being needed now some countries will not get the chance to play it because you cant make a psn account in that region. And even if it is just an inconvenience it doesn't mean we should just brush it off. If you ordered some food in a restaurant and they said ok well do that but first we're gonna to completely mess up your order and then bring you out what you actually asked for would you just shove it off or would you say why can't I just have the food I ordered rather than having this inconvenience happen first?

To people who don't see this as an issue please reconsider this. These are single player there is absolutely no reason on earth they should require an account. Atleast with helldivers you could make the argument the account is beneficial in the idea of future cross progression but single player games have no need for this and its gonna ruin the game for future preservation. It's like Microsoft required an account to play hifi rush on ps5.

There is no reason and should require it. We should not just accept it even if we are Playstation fans. If we can get mad at Microsoft for requiring an account for sea of theives we should also call out Sony for this aswell.

Re: Minor GTA 6 Website Update Pushes Community Closer to the Brink

CaptainRPG

Honestly with how hyped up gta6 has become I'm expecting it to fail. We have people who have expectations so high for the game that it's going to be impossible to match them and people who will defend them because they are Rockstar and they don't miss but that means there's when more pressure on them. Look at betesda maryland praised for years and because of that everyone thought starfield would be a smash hit. Cdpr Witcher was a success so everyone had faith in cyberpunk. I'm cautious optimistic for gta6 but I don't see it being a smash hit like everyone else has already decided

Re: Microsoft Exec on Helldivers 2: I'm Not Sure Who It Helps By Not Being on Xbox

CaptainRPG

Here's the meat and potatoes of the situation. Microsoft don't want peace and harmony they want to win. If Playstation titles drop day and day on Xbox, Sony lose everything. Because even though there are some pros for ps5 hardware that make an experience on Playstation next level like the dualsence haptics and adaptive trigger. It doesn't matter to most people all people care about is price and as it stands the series s is the cheapest on the market. Most people will take the savings. Without a sufficient reason to stay people will swap. There's a reason why the switch is still selling even with inferior hardware and it's not because nintendo is putting their games on other platforms.

Re: PlayStation Allegedly Under Pressure to Make Major Gaming Acquisitions

CaptainRPG

Here's the thing playsations doesn't need to buy any studios the only problem that arises Is if playsations don't microsoft will. All 3 factions have everything they need to be successful the reason why xbox is in last is the lack of marketing for their studio titles. With expect of their major titles XGS titles receive little to no marketing meaning its not reaching its audience look at the marketing a title like pentiment got and that starfield. Pentiment got far better reviews but microsoft had all eggs in the starfield redfall double punch basket and that handle broke before the eggs could make it into the kitchen

Re: PS5, PS4 Fans Spot Similarities Between Marvel's Spider-Man and Promising Upcoming Gacha

CaptainRPG

@Constable_What is that a good thing though. Your playing something that has no final goal. No true end no period where you look back and reflect on the journey you had through the game its just a constantly moving forward with no time to reflect until one day the servers go down and thats it, instead of going out with a bang it just fades away. Every game should have an end not just because its great for reflecting but also because if you plan for your game to keep going it means you don't have an end in mind and all it takes is your game to fade from obscurity and then you won't be able to send it off with a true conclusion. It has already happened with avengers and babylons fall and it will happen again.

Re: Solve a Sci-Fi Murder Mystery in Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate on PSVR2

CaptainRPG

@Amnesiac it's phenomenal. I may be biased as I was recently accepted as an official partner influencer for the game but even if I didn't get it I would still recommend it tenfold. Dyschronia feels like my dearest taking all the elements of their previous games and perfecting them for this entry. I have been singing the praises of this game for nearly 3 months, I have bought the game 14 times and gave away 13 of those copies to let people see for themselves this is an emotional whirlwind of a game and I'm so happy it's coming to psvr 2, the visuals are already insane on quest so I can't imagine what it will be like on psvr2.
