Re: Review: Need for Speed: Rivals (PlayStation 4)

Beaston61

If a racing games isn't a sim, then the chances of me playing it is pretty slim.
Even if it is a next gen game, Need for Speed has always been lame.
Forza was the apple of my eye, but I am not going to buy an xbox one, Forza is gone.. goodbye.

Re: Game of the Month: November 2013 - Resogun

Beaston61

Resogun gets my vote.
Really fun game, I spent a good 1 1/2 hours last night playing co-op with some random russian, completing various difficulties with the different ships. I have completed it on Veteran... but how do I unlock "Master" difficulty?

Re: Poll: What Are Your Plans for the PS4's Launch?

Beaston61

AWESOME! I will make sure I log in to wish you happy birthday... on my birthday !

Thanks for the info though. Not sure how the store's in UK will compare to the US/Can in terms of availabilty and deals. Just wondering if anyone from UK had an opinion on PS4 availabilty after release date. ^^

Re: Poll: What Are Your Plans for the PS4's Launch?

Beaston61

Hi all.
I have not pre-ordered a PS4. My intention was to wait till January...
I think the excitement is getting to me and instead I think I will buy one on my Birthday - December the 4th.
Q.
What do you think the chances are of me being able buy a PS4 from a retail store in the UK, around December the 4th?

Thank you in advance.

Oh man!The love I hold for the old school RESI games, great years of gaming! It was a fantastic read and the screenshots were just icing on the cake, thanks Jamie !
I have a hankering to play it now.... although experience tells me that;
"some games are better left in your memory"

Re: Video: Watch As We Dig into the Underworld in Diablo III on PS3

Beaston61

Well, what can I say... as an avid fan of Diablo 1 & 2, this game was probobly the biggest pc gaming disappointment to date. I was playing this from the start, I even managed to log in on release night for about 1 hour. I played it first time on a blind Hardcore play-through I was one of a small percentage to reach Hardcore on the Hardest difficulty (before the patch which made it easier), I was hellbent on being the first man to complete it! sadly, it didn't happen. Anyway, that aside... the PC version was ruined by ingame Auction house, essentially, you could spend £3 and get the best gear in the game for most levels and the drop rates on legendarys was too low, and RNG loot made most gear you found useless, Character development was poo. Dont get me wrong the combat, graphics, animations etc... are awesome and make for a good fast paced ARPG (and them FMV's!) but, the fundamentals of an ARPG are Character Diversity and Loot, this game failed on both and having the AH just makes grinding for loot pointless. That being said, I hear that the console version is better than the PC!!! Its funny, I actually knew way before this game was announced that it was heading to the Consoles.... sigh... Screw Activision

Re: Who Needs PS4? Rockstar Reckons Grand Theft Auto 5 Feels Next-Gen Now

Beaston61

@XavandSo .
Snap, I have so many PS3 games that I need to play. I thought I was all set for next gen... it seems not.
I just completed inFamous about 1 hour ago, Next is infamous 2, God of War trilogy, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2/3, Killzone 2 & the Last of Us! At least!
I had my mind set on day 1 purchase of PS4... not anymore

Re: Sacrifice Your Spirit to the Dark Souls II Beta on PS3

Beaston61

Awesome! Think im going to skip Beta testing though, that way I can enjoy "finished" product.

The game it self I fell in love with (I played the dodgy PC port), I thought it was the most unique non indie title I had played in ages.
Personally, I think the difficulty is mainly hype, I didn't die nearly half as much as I expected... that being said, I am familiar with the concept of "grinding"

Re: Grand Theft Auto 5 Plots the Perfect Heist in New Trailer

Beaston61

I'm mega hyped for this as well! I have even thought about putting up my pre-order poster ^^ ! - Of course I haven't ...

Although at a time like this, I can't help remembering how disappointed with GTA IV I was. I'm pretty sure this game will truly be amazing... but, I just can't forget.

Re: Sony Prefers to Partner with Third-Party Titles That Are 'New and Fresh'

Beaston61

@PMasterTy9. Well said
We are entering the next gen, I hope everyone doesn't settle for a polished CoD/BF game that can hold more players in a server. When Indie games first came on the scene, I had 0% interest in the games released... now having played alot of them, I think at the moment the indie dev's are the people producing fun and new concepts, with alot of effort put into their games. I Love INDIE.
For example, Terraria, Its amazing... I picked it up on PC when it was released for £5.99. The amount of content with-in the game has kept me entertained for an insane amount of hours (I was still playing it recently)... and they are still releasing (free) patches to this day, with new content. Its one of the reasons I love Sony, they are entirley on board with Indie devs.

Re: Sony Prefers to Partner with Third-Party Titles That Are 'New and Fresh'

Beaston61

Hmmm... I get the feeling that EA, Activision and other big dev's were completey on board (if not driving) with all of Microsofts original intention's for the XBONE. I'm sure that EA wouldn't give games away for nothing.... As far as I am concerned, EA are a plauge to the Gaming world, with activision following suit... Don't get me wrong, games they release are often "good", the concepts are good, but the execution is ruined, by their greed for money.

Battlefield 3 for example, I purchased the game (On PC) and for the most part enjoyed it, heck, I even bought the first map pack (which is rare for me), then soon after, they release Battlefield Premium.... !!! WTF !!! That was it, that was the last straw. I buy a game, and they expect me to buy it again... and if I dont I get an inferior Battlefield experience. Ok, i'm ranting, sorry.
I am glad that PS are thinking outside of the box, im tired of the mainstream - BF, COD... one of the things that surprised me the most about PS, is their large number of exclsuives, as far as I am concerned, Sony's focus on getting more is awesome.

Edit: What is 343?

Re: Rumour: Football Manager 2014 Substituting PSP for Vita

Beaston61

Big FM Manager fan. The PC installment has the most to offer. Sadly you cant carry a PC around in your pocket. I have FM Manager Handheld available on Google Play Store, Whilst its ok, I feel too many features are missing compared to the PC version (Interaction with squad players, Player database too small etc..). I hope they release a Vita version that is not just a port of the FM Manager Handheld versions, then I would buy for definite. Besides PS vita is alot more powerful than my HTC Sensation XL
