Re: Feature: PS5 Pro's Been Clowned on By the Entire Internet, and the Memes Will Make You Laugh

@NEStalgia You really don't know what you're talking about in all of that. You really don't. I'll agree to disagree because we're not changing each others mind. I'm 53 and have owned every generation of Sony, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles, so don't need any education on marketing terms. Remember when Sony said 4000+ games available on PS4 are playable on PS5? That was an accurate statement and I feel you're spinning their "up to 8000" to what YOU are wanting it to mean. Anyway... nothing left to say about it.

@Oprahs_cellulite So people are going to just ignore every other game that features Pro enhancements and make their decision based on GTA VI? LOL! Just. No. I personally can't stand the GTA series and am purchasing a Pro for my backlog of titles, many already confirmed to have Pro support, along with the 8000+ titles said to be compatible with the Game Boost mode for games that don't specifically have official Pro support. I assume most making the purchase are similar to myself, and not using GTA VI as their sole motivation for purchase.

Re: Feature: Everything You Can Do in PS5's New Welcome Hub

@AhmadSumadi Of course I know, and I specifically stated they changed some of the ToS. The point expiration is changing from 24 months to 12 months. A year is not a short while. And let's say you pay monthly for PS+ Premium. Along with your ESO points, that's 3,960 points annually. You're only missing out on less than $16 worth of points for an entire year, or a whopping $1.33 per month. I think if you're able to spend almost $400 a year on subscriptions.... that $16 worth of coins shouldn't be bothering you and really isn't a big deal whatsoever. "they effed up stars" is quite a stretch imo.

Re: Feature: Everything You Can Do in PS5's New Welcome Hub

@HRdepartment You "no games" people are absolutely ridiculous. You must have bought the PEE-ES FYVE from Temu or Wish because there are over 700 games on PS Plus alone. Not Sony's fault you bought some generic knock off that plays flip phone mobile game roms like 20 versions of Snake and Tetris.

Nothing wrong with the $700 price tag (although £700 is too much). You can't build a new PC with the same specs for $700 that will perform as good as the PS5 Pro. This was even the case with the base PS5.

Re: Feature: Everything You Can Do in PS5's New Welcome Hub

Almost_Ghostly

@AhmadSumadi How so? It was down for a while then they changed some of the ToS. but it's still basically the same thing it's always been since it started. About the only thing they have left to do is integration with the PS5 instead of just with the app, which should have been included with this update, at least as a widget.

@Pranwell Day one here. Already have my og PS5 disc version sold for $350 plus $150 for sealed official Spider-Man 2 plates.

@StylesT It's not £700 for me. It's $700. If you consider games going from 30fps to 60fps a minimal upgrade... don't know what to tell ya. Double frame rate with improved RT is worth the $250 cost over the base model PS5. A similar upgrade on a PC would cost more than $250 and an entire new PC with the same specs as PS5 Pro would cost more than $700.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy PS5 Pro If It Was Cheaper?

Almost_Ghostly

I think the price is fair for $700. That's $250 more than than the digital version PS5 "Slim" & imo it has $250 worth of upgrades. To upgrade a PC with OG PS5 specs to one with PS5 Pro specs would cost more than $250. I understand the frustration of those who live in places where there was no price conversion done. I agree it would not be worth it for those who would have to pay the equivalent of nearly $920 USD. I would not buy it at that price in the US.

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on PS5 Pro?

Almost_Ghostly

I'll just copy/paste my comment from the other article. I'll be selling my standard PS5 along with the still sealed official Spider-Man 2 face plates for another $150-$200 to get the Pro. Not right away, but probably sometime in 2nd quarter of 2025. Don't care about no disc drive because I never used the one on the original PS5. All of my games are digital and the drive doesn't support Dolby Vision for 4K Blu-rays so I have no use for it.

That said, I'd like to see someone build a PC for $700 that has the same or better performance. When LTT did that for the og PS5, the PS5 performed better overall than the PC at the same price.

Re: Space Marine 2 Already Struggling With PS5 Server Woes, Days Before Its Full Release

Almost_Ghostly

This article is another example of how deceiving it is sometimes to mention ONLY PlayStation in articles here. A lot of times people assume games are PS exclusives because it's usually not stated that the games are also available on other platforms. And with this one, it makes people think that it's only the PS5 having server woes, when it's happening across all platforms.

Re: Preview: Directive 8020 a 'Huge Step Forward' for the Dark Pictures Series on PS5

Almost_Ghostly

@yohn777 Stupid and dumb? That was completely uncalled for. I gave a very simple opinion that was not derogatory towards anyone whatsoever, and was in response to another users comment regarding the same thing. Fact is, most other sites indicate that a game is also available on other platforms. But as stated in my other comment, this is not my site. It really doesn't bother me, it's just kinda weird imo and not everyone realizes that some games are not PlayStation exclusives. There was no need for your rude response & there was no weird conspiracy about anything at all.

Re: Silent Hill 2 Remake Dev Asks Fans to Give It 'a Chance'

@InsertUsername Oh, please. All of you "DEI" buzzword bandwagoning people need to stop with this nonsense. Ya'll want to make comments only about the female character model changes, but not the male character model change. Pandering? LOL! You haven't even played the game yet and you're making baseless accusations based on the female characters not being sexy enough for you. There's always Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball for you to play. That is all there is to say and I'll leave it at that.

Re: Silent Hill 2 PS5 Remake Is Quite a Bit Longer Than the Original

Almost_Ghostly

@dark_knightmare2 I'll have to agree. I liked all of the ones you mentioned but thought Blair Witch was poor. Probably more than you because I'll go as far as saying it flat out sucked and felt like they just tacked the Blair Witch title on some random game for sales. I disliked it so much I'll never play it again, not even if it received a VR release.

Re: Preview: Directive 8020 a 'Huge Step Forward' for the Dark Pictures Series on PS5

@Toot1st I've asked about that before. Like how it's always something along the lines of "New PS5 Game Out Now!" and it's never mentioned that any of the multiplatform games are also available for Xbox, PC, or Switch. They said it's because it's a PlayStation focused site. Imo it's misleading to people who don't know better (which is more than a person would think), but it's also not my site.

Re: Silent Hill 2 Remake Dev Asks Fans to Give It 'a Chance'

Almost_Ghostly

@exit No offense taken whatsoever at your response as there's nothing in it to be offended by. My comments were due to the troves of people who HEAVILY bashed the female character models in the remake as looking ugly or too manly/butch.... yet the same people were complete crickets on James also having a new model. Perhaps that puts my comments in more of a perspective.

Re: Hands On: Black Myth: Wukong Is Brilliant, But We Have PS5 Concerns

Almost_Ghostly

@jrt87 Had I not watched the video I'd have chalked that up to being an intended slow motion type of effect. Not saying that it doesn't happen more often, but it only occurs once in the video despite all of the action going on. It's also pre any performance patches. And like I'm sure many others, my PS5 is more powerful than my PC. We can't all afford to build an entire new PC. With my old i5 2500k and GTX 1060, I can't just upgrade the gpu. I need to replace the entire thing from the mb and up and PS5 was the cheaper option for me. A PC built for the same price as a PS5 and with very similar specs will not play PS5 games better than a PS5. Imo it's only worth building a new PC if a person is going to spend top $ to run 100% of current gpu and/or cpu heavy games at max settings and most future ones for the next couple of years with either all max or slightly lowered settings. The price to get a significantly better experience on PC is too costly for some people. And imo spending the $ on a new pc or upgrading an existing pc to be only slightly better than the PS5 is a waste of $.

Re: Silent Hill 2 Remake Dev Asks Fans to Give It 'a Chance'

Almost_Ghostly

@KaiBrunnenG It's no different than movies being remade, or music, or books to movies. Sure they usually aren't as good as the originals, but the originals are still there. No one is talking them away. I have personally always enjoyed having more than one version of things I enjoy. It makes for variety. I'm excited to see what changes have been made. I don't want the exact same game twice. That would be completely pointless like the scene for scene remake of Psycho.

Re: Silent Hill 2 Remake Dev Asks Fans to Give It 'a Chance'

@InsertUsername Why do you need to be so rude about things? You brought up DEI and Sweet Baby Inc as reasons to hate on the game. After you made those comments an educated guess told me that along with a lot of other people, you don't like how they made the females look. It was a simple observation and you have lashed out ever since. You don't need to resort to personal attacks.
