@RobN Good thing to point out, actually, and funnily enough, I did play PSVR2 with these headphones (I was playing Reach). Despite what I felt was a smaller fitting size, it fit over the headset quite well, so no issues there.
I'll update the review to include a wee mention of it. Cheers!
@Splat Playing on performance mode on the PS5 Pro, frame rate is stable and it looks great. I had one brief moment of some kind of visual glitch, but it has only happened once in about 11 hours of play.
@Stale-Bread I personally didn't find it anywhere near as scary as Silent Hill 2, but the atmosphere is fantastic. There are a number of jump scares - some especially cheap - that I wasn't a huge fan of, but I found it all more tense than scary. A lot of the scares/tension are in the sound design and the visuals as you slowly explore its world. So yeah, not super scary but very atmospheric.
@BeyondKnight It's about 16 hours long. I think I was about 15.5 hours with a fair bit of side stuff, although not everything. There is a new game plus and harder difficulty unlocked upon completing the game too.
@themightyant I liked hearing wee tidbits about the Beira D disaster, and there are some nice narrative moments in there. The voice acting is a bit more subdued here I'd say, but still great for the few characters that feature. However, I think it's lacking that charm even there. I thought Caz was a pretty relatable protagonist by comparison, and Mhairi's narrative stuff just didn't hit the same for me.
@Rich33 If the game was unplayable due to performance, it would 100% recieve a lower score. It's disappointing to see choppier framerates, but it never ruined my experience with the game.
@YoureTooSlowBro Because for me, those games are even higher rated. It's not as rich an experience as what FromSoftware has conjured up in the past, naturally, but it is taking that best-in-class combat, the top tier enemy design, and packing it all into a robust and tight-knit roguelike gameplay loop that is an incredibly fun time with friends. It's a different kind of experience, but still a great one, and that's why I gave it an 8/10.
I'm all for the start of a new saga on Destiny, but I'm not sure about the whole Star Wars expansion. Intrigued to see what the plan is lore wise to fit it in.
@Greifchen @Oram77 @Kraven I totally agree that most aspects of the game are leagues better. It is my all time favourite game after all.
Spoiler alert: For this particular episode, I just think there were some changes, particularly with Dina's reaction to Ellie being bitten that I actually preferred. It seemed more natural than the sort of muted acceptance from Dina in the game.
However, I completely agree that the mystery around the world in the game is completely gone in the show. I loved the things the game didn't tell you so much, like what happened at the dance, who the Seraphites are, what Abby's motivations were.
The game drip feeds you the answers in a way that made you pay so much more attention to its environments. It made its eventual answers hit all the more.
I'm very anxious for Bungie, but Destiny holds a special place in my heart, and I'm hoping it can do it again with Marathon! Can't wait to see some more of the game!
I know it's easy to knock, but it can't be denied that Fortnite is one of the most influential games of the last decade. It really shaped how you do live service and most other games have been playing catch up since.
@themightyant Ah sorry misread your question. I didn't try the game on my own, so it's certainly something to check out with the CNT this weekend. If I get a moment to try myself, I'll get back to you!
@themightyant I totally agree that the screen is great for an LCD, and it would be a gut punch for the early adopters. But November this year marks 2 years since the Portal launched, which I don't think is an abnormal amount of time for a new edition. Steam Deck to Steam Deck OLED was only about 2.5 years. Only time will tell though!
@Cron_13 I personally would have considered the boss you're alluding to as a spoiler - and it's clearly not on the level of the other 3.
Regarding patches and when I played, I did start prior to launch, but most of my game time was made up after it was actually released and had a couple of patches under its belt. Even on my last session (Tuesday 10th) I had enemies spawning and firing at me from inside rocks.
@Futureshark I think Still Wakes The Deep is going to be in my personal top 5 too. Loved the atmosphere and the setting, and as a massive fan of The Thing, I was very into its whole vibe.
Absolutely heartbreaking. I still remember combing through an issue for every morsel of info on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom. I honestly don't think I'd be at Push Square today without OPM.
@Bentleyma No difficulty options here, and if I had to put it on a difficulty scale like you say, I'd maybe give it a 6 or 7. Not saying I blasted through every boss first time, but most of the ones I had difficulty with I finished in less than 10 attempts.
There has been the odd difficulty spike here or there, but from what I've played I've not been banging my head of the wall due to its difficulty.
@Jacko11 While we still firmly believe the base game is a 10/10, this review's aim is to take the new content and features into consideration, hence the slightly lower score. We're reviewing the remaster, not the base game of The Last Of Us Part 2 in this instance.
@Madnurz Naughty Dog's games have some great accessiblity features so you are easily able to fine tune the difficulty experience to suit your playstyle, so you should be good!
@Madnurz For the review period I just stuck with Moderate, but even that was a decent challenge at times. Having played half of the campaign through on Grounded difficulty in the past, I wasn't quite ready for that level of torture!
@Fiendish-Beaver I could never do something like that now! But at the time, I had recently been gifted an Xbox 360 and was just buying any and every game I could afford, and Dead Space 2 had just happened to come out! I'm glad I got to experience the first game in this way though
I genuinely can't wait to check out these Lost Levels. It super interesting to have heard about sections like the Jackson Party in The Last Of Us Podcast, and now have it actually show up in Part 2 Remastered. Will be great to get some kind of insight into the development process and why they were ultimately cut.
@Daan6661 I have roughly 300mbps and I ran it with no issues most times. It struggled to join games in MW3 but managed Fortnite fine, and when I was over at someone else's house it lost connection when I started the download on my PS5, but otherwise ran smoothly.
I think you'd get on absolutely fine with those speeds. Sony recommends 15mbps, so by its standard you'll be more than ok with 200mbps.
@bpomber No, whatever you are doing on your Portal is happening on the PS5. They are not operating separately, you'll simply watching a streamed mirror of your PS5. So you can only do one thing at a time with it.
@thefourfoldroot1 There isn't an app with the PS Portal. You turn it on, press X to connect, press X to play once it's connected and that's it. There's no UI or home page as I mentioned, so compared to the app it is a lot more streamlined.
@Arkham24601 I'd say this feels far more synced up to the PS5. Lag and input delay are still present - but in my opinion entirely unavoidable with tech like this. I'd say moving from the Backbone One on mobile to this is a big upgrade.

@Stevemalkpus There are storage chests found in safe rooms.
Re: Cronos: The New Dawn (PS5) - Captivating, Twisted, and Wickedly Entertaining
@PuppetMaster While I personally really enjoyed The Callisto Protocol, I do think Cronos is a bit more original regarding its story and world.
Re: Cronos: The New Dawn (PS5) - Captivating, Twisted, and Wickedly Entertaining

Re: Preview: Arc Raiders Could Be the Definitive Extraction Shooter on PS5
@Marquez Nice one! I'm really excited to spend more time with it, especially with a native PS5 version!
Re: Preview: Arc Raiders Could Be the Definitive Extraction Shooter on PS5
@SteveJaye I did mean to include some Division comparisons. It feels more hardcore, but it does give big Division Dark Zone vibes!

@Kraven Totally agree with your "Ellie moment" comment. Bella done a lot to win me over this episode.

Re: Preview: Elden Ring Nightreign Is the Most Interesting PS5, PS4 Multiplayer Game of 2025
@themightyant You can play the game on your own in a solo offline mode, but it isn't a traditionally single player FromSoftware experience.

Re: Video: 2025 Is Shaping Up to Be PS5's Best Year Yet
@TrannosaurusBex I meant to say I was 16 when GTA 5 dropped, which was pretty much my first GTA, since I didn't play 4 till later down the line!
Glad to see a fellow Finals enjoyer in the comments!
