@MaulTsir You’re following my pathway then, with Bloodborne being my first FromSoft game I completed, and I thought Demon’s Souls was a little easier when I played it a couple months ago. It’s a great game and a brilliant remake. It might have been easier to me because I had a Soulsborne game in the bag already and knew a little about how to approach it. But I also went with the ‘easy mode’ of doing a magic user build. It makes much of the game very approachable and a few of the bosses are remarkably easy with magic. There are a few enemies that magic doesn’t do very well for, like the skeletons (in arch 4 I think it is) which close in so fast you don’t have time to bring up the spell before they’re on top of you. So I did need to have some shield and sword options as a secondary approach.

But if you made it through Bloodborne and all the GoW Valkyries you should be fine.

I really couldn’t get into Cyberpunk. The PS5 version runs well and the game looks great now, but I didn’t care for the gameplay or the characters and story, so I quit it after a few hours, probably 5-6 hours, maybe more. But a lot of people have liked it, but between it and DeS, definitely prioritize DeS.

@RogerRoger oh wow sonic CD huh ? y’know i played that game years ago i think through ps now and i didn’t last long with it . i always heard about it though but when i finally played it myself i wasn’t feeling it at all and just rather play the originals , the game had nice animations though but it was a weird one to me .

and i agree with your preferences of sonic , we seem to have similar tastes! i think you were the one who liked batman origins as well too right ?

Well I've downloaded a lot of games from the new PS Plus like Concrete Genie, Returnal and Deliver Us the Moon but its Assetto Corsa Competizione that I've had a go of first and my goodness is that on a whole different level to GT7 and F1 in terms of simulation. I managed to string 2 or 3 laps together on Spa amd it was a great feeling when doing so.

Older than I care to remember but have been gaming since owning a wooden Atari 2600 and played pretty much everything inbetween.

@RogerRoger you hit the nail on the head about sonic CD , those were my exact problems with it & why it’s weird in a bad way . and likewise about meeting a like-minded person too & believe me , it’s definitely not you that’s the problem , people are definitely sheeple out here , just think about the kinds of things people fall for or will say/do for acceptance and “upvotes” and it’ll all make sense , lol 😂 . having your own mind and opinion while looking peer-pressure in the eyes is scarier than you think ! you may even be called a troll and ostracized ; and you know what ? i wish i was kidding , lol !

now i’m not saying all people (gamers) likings aren’t genuine , it’s just that in a general sense , the things they criticize and berate about a game is legitimately stupid & if they aren’t the majority , then they sure are the loud mouthed minority .

Voltan

Maaan I downloaded Returnal, playing it for the first time in a year (had it on disc and knew it was coming to PS+ so I didn’t bother installing it after the DLC dropped until now).

HOW IS THIS GAME SO GOOD 😭

Voltan

@Voltan Totally forgot that was part of PS Plus Extra. Will defo download that when I upgrade as I traded in my disc ages ago.

Syphon Filter has the worst controls of any game I’ve ever played. Bear in mind I’ve just beaten 3 Tomb Raider games on the Vita. I’ve even beaten WinBack on N64. Gabe handles like a blind man with no legs who’s just tanned one of those big fat bottles of Frosty Jack’s.

After a week with my new PS5, I'm having fun experiencing a lot of different games and what the system is capable of. Gran Turismo is a blast after not playing one since the PS3 era, and a variety of my PS4 games are much better, and have smaller file sizes than expected, on the PS5. I'm no longer really worried about the storage capacity at the moment.

But the real star is Horizon Forbidden West. Holy smokes, is this game amazing. HZD is one of my favorite games of all time, and this matches all of my hopes and expectations and then some. It picks up seamlessly where the other left off and improves it in many ways. And the cut scenes are essentially the best animated movie that I've ever seen in my life. There is nothing uncanny when watching the characters. Their body movements, eyes and expressions are true to life, and the voice acting is top notch.

The business management side game in Yakuza: Like a Dragon might be the most annoying of all the games they’ve done.

I had the employee DLC apparently which made it a doddle but completing it (and then getting the trophy for ¥10bn) just involved a LOT of sitting there pressing the same buttons over and over for hours.

At least Clan Creator had some variety to it!

Started Demon’s Souls finally. Character creator is very impressive, glad to see just how inclusive it is even just from the presets being way more varied than you usually get in these games.

@Thrillho The side activities and especially business management stuff is why I'll never obtain the platinum trophy for any of the mainline Yakuza games, tbqh.

I guess the good thing is that not caring about the trophies frees me up to play these games wherever I can find them. Whereas I'm currently thinking about buying a game I already beat on another platform on sale for PS4 because I'd love to have the platinum trophy for it someday.

Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)

@Ralizah LaD doesn’t have a completion list trophy so it’s actually very achievable (like 6 which is the only other one I have).

Both have had very grindy side games with 6 requiring you to get a Clan Creator character to max level but at least that game mode saw you actively participate in it. Nothing will beat Zero’s hostess mode though!

The kart racing in LaD is good fun but incredibly easy.

Started playing Red Dead Redemption 2, as it will be leaving ps extra in September. I think it is fantastic with a couple caveats. The movement is very stiff. It reminds me of Witcher 3 before the patch. Trying to do any type of platforming to get to secret areas is a huge pain. The save system is atrocious. I saved near an area I had to climb a bit, just in case I fell. I did of course and died. Brought me back to the top of a cliff. Not even close to where I saved. Needless to say I died a few more times and the same thing. I had to step away from the game for a bit because of that. Which was too bad as the world is so full of life and mostly fun otherwise. I'm also barely into chapter 2. I still have to unlock the fence to sell my found gold bars too. The exploration is quite fun with many random encounters, even some hilarious/sad ones. I happened upon a man fixing his horse's shoe, when I startled him, which in turned startled the horse who promptly rear kicked the man in the head dead. I didn't loot him as for now I want to stay honorable. As you can see with my rambling I like this game. I'm late too it, I just hope I can get it all in before September. It may have to be a full on purchase if I keep enjoying it.

Demon’s Souls just makes me miss Elden Ring. It’s incredibly hard going back to the stiff rigidity of earlier Souls games. At least I can level up now but that first area before Phalanx was more annoying than anything. I can definitely see the King’s Field influences a lot heavier in this one, and it does feel a little bit outdated. That being said, graphics are very impressive and it’s naturally got good combat.

@RogerRoger Phew, you kept it PG. I thought for a second the final line was going to be something else...

@RogerRoger Well, considering how much better Horizon Forbidden West looks than a classic Sonic game naturally, it could have been a similar reaction you would have to a beautiful woman.

And the joke is killed....

@KidBoruto I know first hand just how brutal those Ezio platinums are, great job! I still need to go back and get the last 20 feathers for the 2 platinum but I can’t face it 😂

@RogerRoger Yeah, so your original reaction of it being like whiplash will do.

Fine, you win since I didn't know. The joke is not killed.

On a serious note for a second, does Sonic Origins really not have a way to save your game? That would be annoying if the Game Informer reviews was accurate. Even though I was a huge Sega Genesis fan, with obviously Sonic and Sonic & Knuckles being a big part of that, I might pass on the collection if so.
