Speaking of Ubisoft… I started Immortals Fenyx Rising and I kinda like it. I had heard that the opening sections are really off-putting, but I found it refreshing and funny. 😄 Maybe I have a weird sense of humor.

I think it helped knowing that the game is supposed to be silly and not take itself too seriously. I’m not very far along but so far, so good.

@Th3solution Ah that is good to hear, yeah the opening few hours is what I think put most people off.

@Th3solution @JohnnyShoulder I really liked that game too. It borders on cringe at times but never really goes far beyond that line - and the gameplay itself is just good, very focused on various kinds of puzzles, which I really liked (but I also know this was the main complaint from some)

@KidBoruto Congratulations on that Assassin's Creed platinum! Nicely done!

Thanks dude much appreciated! Hopefully Revelations won't be as hard.

@KidBoruto I know first hand just how brutal those Ezio platinums are, great job! I still need to go back and get the last 20 feathers for the 2 platinum but I can’t face it 😂

Thanks! Those feathers were easy, I just watched a YouTube video! The hardest challenges were the ones that required skill/luck, like getting full sync for Leonardo's missions in AC Brotherhood (I HATED the Tank and Glider missions).

Resi Village, it's pretty good no?

It's a fun horror blockbuster, has it's moments but clearly the.developers weren't aiming at giving people heart attacks with this entry. Apart from maybe the house, you know the one, begins with a B. Looks alright at first before ***** truly hits the fan!

I died twice in sheer shock, then I realised what I had to do but I didn't enjoy it lol.

Seriously, what a great section of the game.

@Col_McCafferty Yeah I found Resident Evil 7 scarier overall than 8, but thought 8 was the better game, as I felt 7 dipped towards the end. And The Mould in 7 were way more boring as enemies than the lychans in 8.

I'm starting Demon Soul's today! I feel that having recently playing Bloodbourne may damping my experience because I've heard the game play is somewhat slower, but at the same time I haven't played Elden Ring yet so I don't think my expectations are too high.

I know its a From Software game and that the difficulty aspect is quite similar in most entries but I'm quite looking forward to trying a different style of game from Bloodbourne. Any way this is only my second From Software game so wish me luck 🤣

The Artful Escape may not be much in terms of an actual video game (mostly walk forward with some very basic platforming and occasional repeating of button prompts) but the sound and visuals are totally my jam. Loving it so far.

Good to hear you're enjoying it, is one that's been on my radar a while. Will definitely pick up at some point, maybe round halloween as I usually do a horror game or two around then.

Just finished Resident Evil Village.

Very good game and overall I preferred it to the last one, much more entertaining in my view at least.

Some real scares, some.creepy scenes, some pure action moments, good boss battles, looks gorgeous and a lot of fun to play. Bonkers ending as well.

ApostateMage

I've started playing Deliver Us The Moon and I ain't putting it down until I find out the truth.

@ApostateMage
Engaging then? I was looking at that yesterday and opted to go for Last Stop instead...

...And have begun Last Stop and got through the first chapter(s). Three seemingly disconnected stories set in London playing like a Tell Tale game, mainly walking to the next conversation and timed dialogue choices. I found two of the opening stories more intriguing than the other but am intrigued to see where they all go to.
Think I will ration time with this, maybe do a chapter a day and see how it goes.

ApostateMage

@sorteddan It's very basic, a bit like a walking sim, with the occasional puzzle to solve and plot data to collect but the story is intriguing enough to keep you going. It is quite atmospheric (no pun intended) at times with some nice music. I like it.

Yeah that's the impression I got from reviews and why is was reading up on it in the first place. I think I would benefit from some more thought provoking, narrative driven but less taxing in terms of gameplay style stuff to help me wind down in the evenings. I also have a fondness for space and sci-fi stuff so looks right up my street. Supposed to be relatively short though so probably won't take you too many sessions.

Just finished Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, a really fun game, the dimension stuff looks cool but is just a gimmick that doesn't really effect gameplay and I feel some of the weapons were better in the PS4 game. Its a shame the Pixeliser was a pre order bonus as now you don't get it until after beating the game and I also had a bug with one armour piece that just vanished. Still the story is fun, it looks amazing and Insomniac have great support for high refresh TV's and monitors and I did have a great time overall

Older than I care to remember but have been gaming since owning a wooden Atari 2600 and played pretty much everything inbetween.

@Th3solution Immortals is a great game!

I think it was a refreshing new IP from Ubisoft (even if it is derivative of the AC franchise/BoTW).

I loved the story, the art design and found it fun to play almost from start to finish.

Sadly, I believe Ubisoft won't be doing a sequel anytime soon.

CJD87

@HarmanSmith I played it on Switch... and loved it! Actually enjoyed it as much as BOTW, and it runs pretty well in handheld.

Great new IP from Ubisoft, would love a sequel

@CJD87 I played it on Switch too. I think it looks fantastic and it runs well. Actually, it is a blast in handheld mode (Ubi did a great job with the Switch version, IMHO).

I really, really hope they make a sequel, in between all their major IP's. It really deserves it!
