Rogue Legacy (PS4)
$1.69/£1.39 (-90%)
Developed by Cellar Door Games, Rogue Legacy is a pioneer of the rogue-lite, which adds permanent progression to a game otherwise filled with random elements. This is a rapid paced, 2D action platformer that starts off super challenging, but through slowly building up your characters, you'll find runs become easier and easier. The loop is extremely addictive, and the randomly generated heroes keep things fresh every time with different classes and unique traits. Its direct sequel is the better game, but this remains a compelling rise to power.

Rogue Legacy 2 (PS5)
$9.99/£7.99 (-60%)
If it's rogue-lites you're into, there are few better than Rogue Legacy 2. Building upon the already great original in basically every way, the sequel is vast in scope and executed brilliantly. Each attempt sees you begin with a new character, all of them with a unique build of strengths and weaknesses. Between runs, you'll upgrade the town, craft better armour, and gradually become stronger. It's incredibly moreish, with each run feeling different from the last, and the gameplay is responsive and rewarding.
Sea of Stars (PS5)
$22.74/£18.84 (-35%)
Set in the same universe as The Messenger, Sea of Stars is a similarly retro-styled title with some fresh twists. This is a turn-based RPG about a pair of warriors travelling the world as they warm up to their supernatural powers and thwart some evildoers along the way. The combat is strategic and rewarding to master, and there's a great cast of characters you'll love by the end, including the bad guys. Gorgeous presentation and a twisting story tie it all together.

Signalis (PS4)
$13.99/£11.19 (-30%)
All in all, this is an astoundingly stylish effort from such a small studio. Signalis is riveting in both the construction of its world and the tense survival horror gameplay it executes so well. Don’t overlook it because of its very late last-gen release: rose-engine’s effort has its feet firmly planted in the future.
Still Wakes the Deep (PS5)
$8.74/£7.49 (-75%)
Still Wakes the Deep may not stick around for long, but it’ll have an iron-clad grip on you across its runtime. There’s clear inspiration here from horror movie classics such as Alien and The Thing, and we adored seeing those inspirations play out through its highly-detailed settings and salt-of-the-Earth cast of characters. It may not be the most engaging gameplay experience on the PS5, but The Chinese Room smartly lays a solid foundation in the Beira D and its gaggle of staff, that’ll keep its viscerally focused horror on your mind long after the credits roll.
SUPERHOT (PS4)
$7.49/£5.99 (-70%)
It's hard to be original these days, but along comes Superhot with a genius twist on the first person shooter. Time only moves when you do in this clever indie game, meaning you can dodge bullets and land some crazy kills in slow-mo. It plays out almost like a puzzle game as you plan your movements and anticipate your enemies. Don't let the simplistic visual style fool you, this is one of the most creative shooters on PS4.
Superliminal (PS5)
$7.99/£6.79 (-60%)
Superliminal is a game in which objects become physically bigger or smaller depending on your perspective, and you'll use this odd concept to solve its myriad mind-bending puzzles. As you wrap your head around its unusual premise, the game gradually introduces a narrative element that culminates in a surprisingly touching, profound conclusion. This is an imaginative and unique first-person puzzler that students of The Witness and Portal will certainly enjoy.
Sword of the Sea (PS5)
$25.49/£16.99 (-15%)
Sword of the Sea feels like an amalgamation of all the previous works from Giant Squid, with some Journey sprinkled on top for good measure. Gliding around a glistening desert atop a sword that's also a surfboard? It doesn't get much cooler than that, and it feels so silky smooth. While short, the game will stick in the memory thanks to its beautiful presentation, lovely soundtrack, and fun movement, which even lets you pull off some sick tricks while you're at it.
The Light Brigade (PS5)
$12.49/£9.99 (-50%)
Roguelikes may be dime a dozen, but they’re less commonplace in virtual reality. The Light Brigade proves that the format can work with PSVR2 to excellent effect, and while it does little to reinvent the genre’s well-worn wheel, it instead focuses on executing all of its ideas to an exemplary standard. The result is an almost immaculate shooter, with stunning gameplay and an outstanding reward loop.
