Has Sony ever managed to do better than its original PSone boot up sequence? Those visuals and the audio that accompanies them are firmly planted in our own brains, becoming a part of childhood memories for many. Any PlayStation fan has at least some reverence for those couple of seconds before Sony's first console launches a game, so much so that one fanatic has taken things to the next level.
Off the back of the new information we received a couple of days ago surrounding the PlayStation 5, YouTube channel Paulo Manso Animation uploaded its own take on the next-gen system's boot-up animation. It's one that plays on the nostalgia of that original sequence, turning on with the original visual and audio design before settling on a screen that looks similar to that of the PlayStation 4's home screen.
Of course, it would certainly be a pleasant surprise if Sony's plans for the PS5's boot-up sequence even slightly resembled this tribute to the past, but it's probably not going to happen. Still, we can dream. Would you like the PS5's boot-up animation to look like this? What would you change? Turn your PS5 on in the comments below.

Damn that's nice.
Very nice! They should save this for ps6 and instead have ps2 show up on screen and have the 2 drop down to a 5.
Oooo, I would love this to be the boot up for the PS5.
What 6 seconds? If you can't spare 6 seconds what's the point in buying one.
I think we should start a petition for it.
I still miss the colored logo, I didn't like that Sony changed the logo to one color for all PlayStation marketing, with the exception of refering back to the original logo such as the PS classic and the PS1 style PS4 controller
YES! Sony if you're reading this I say DO IT!!!
👍🏻 That’s really neat.
wow! love the concept man.
I stand firm that the PS1 startup sequence is the best of any gaming platform ever. I approve of this. And since "Holiday 2020" is the release date of the PS5, it marks the 25th anniversary of PlayStation in Europe it would be nice to have a special PS1 edition of the console with a similar boot sequence.
I'd be first in line to buy one.
That looks fantastic tbh.
Imagine if Sony revealed the ps5 in this way or something similar.
@HenFjo
I agree, they should never have changed from that coloured logo. The PS1 and PS2 used it and it feels so iconic whenever I see it. That white coloured one we have now is boring.
That is absolutely beautiful! Made my morning a wee bit happier (even if it is just a console boot up sequence!)
I like it.
Very nice, very nice indeed. Though come to think of it, starting tune is a bit Disneyish
That is a nice idea. I think all companies should begin using more colours (again), as in past times. I'm not a fan of the last years trend to minimise the usage of colours in logos etc. (think PS logo, Windows logo...)
Ps1 and Dreamcast provide the most nostalgia for me. I think they are easily the best 2 ever.
Pretty nifty that.
The real one can't be better than that, can it?
Don't like it lol. It's way different from what I imagine.
Kinda boring imo.
It’s a PS5. There aren’t supposed to be any load times. 😋
Nice throwback but the worst thing is it couldn't be used now anyway since someone already made it.
Makes you feel the legacy. Since I own all of them.
That is well COOL + the PS4 start up is er erm nothing really. They did good ones for the PS1 & 2 & 3 but 4 was erm nothing. Hopefully PS5's will be cool
For serious nostalgia how about they release the original PS1, 2 PS2 and PS3 ones and you can choose which you like as a theme option. I'd love to have the full PS1 diamond power up for my PS4 or 5
I prefer the 8-bit and 16-bit generations when I didn’t have to wait on a boot up sequence.
Oh, that's some smooth s*** right there. I like it a lot. I wouldn't mind if it were shortened a little, but overall fantastic!
Please mind the language - Quintumply
@Gmork___ Depends what kind of PS gamer you are i was there from the PS1 so i love it.
@Flaming_Kaiser oh i get the nostalgia factor. I guess due to me starting on the ps2 has something to due with my lack of connection.
@Gmork___ And i just want it boot up fast. Plus its nice and simple the nostalgia got me the most. 😃
