Death Stranding director Hideo Kojima shared a trailer for a game called RUSSIA 2055 on social media today, and it’s being developed by a studio that we’ve never heard of before. Ordinarily we’d shrug and move on with our lives, but this is the same guy who created a fictional developer named Moby Dick Studios, and then hired a Swedish actor to appear in an interview with Geoff Keighley – complete with bandages around his face.

Here’s the blurb for the game: “In year 2055 US Forces and Russian Military conflict halts as they defend Earth from the first alien invasion that first started in Russia. RUSSIA 2055 is a futuristic military first-person shooter game. With a multiplayer of up to 64 Players. Multiplayer consists of Mech vs Mech, Russian vs US Military, Alien vs US/RU.”

There’s no word of platforms, but it’s apparently being created by a team named Invictus Volition, which joined Twitter last month. The game was shared on an Unreal Engine message board a few days ago, by an account that was created in 2015. Look, it’s perfectly possible that Kojima saw this and thought it was cool so decided to share it with his millions of followers – but you just never know with the Metal Gear maker, do you?
