We've seen plenty of footage from the creation toolset in Media Molecule's upcoming title Dreams, but we've not seen a great deal from its story campaign. The above video from PlayStation Access goes through the beginning of the game, introducing the way the story is structured.
As we've come to expect from Media Molecule, it all looks deliciously tactile and inventive. We hear about the way the game's various collections of levels intertwine narratively, which sounds like an interesting approach. Everything in these levels is made using exactly the same toolset that you'll have access to once the game launches, and the variety shown off is clearly meant to spark inspiration among players.
It looks great, and we can't wait to see more of Dreams. Hopefully more new footage and information will be made available over the course of E3 2018, but what do you think of this new gameplay? Are you excited to play Dreams' story mode? Customise your imp in the comments below.

whennis this game coming out! This year? Next? This and dragon quest, and an English speaking fist of the North Star is what I’m anticipating.....
I'm thinking this game is either coming around late November time but I don't know if that's a good time at the moment.
How much more of this game do we need to see before we get a date? At least the beta date that they talked about THREE years ago.

And was supposed to come out TWO years ago in 2016.

Will sammy get to repost this article from last years E3?

Stop showing it, get it out, or at least get the beta out.
@rjejr the delay is frustrating but I think it's great that they've shown such patience to try and get this right and not just rush out a game or an inferior version of their, umm, Dreams.
@roe "to try and get this right"
What I'd like to see them get right is a guess as to when the beta will release.
@rjejr It'll be ready when it's ready.
Needs to come out before the PS5 in announced.
@adf86 "It'll be ready when it's ready."
I'd be fine if they just said that from the beginning. Why even talk about a beta? How many game companies promote beta's for their games for years in advance? A game needs a release date for promotional purposes, a beta could just be released, maybe a week or a few days notice, announce it when it's ready.
So it's like LBP? You have a story mode plus user created levels to play?
I will say it again, Sony exclusives should be called Big 6, including Dreams and Days Gone.
@WanderingBullet Exactly but on a much wider creative scale.
@rjeir I'm sure when they announced a beta they weren't expecting to take this long but you have to remember that the vast majority of the development has been spent on creating the engine for it and that was always going to take a long time. So the chances are they had numerous technical issues behind the scenes which is probably why they went dark for well lver a year.
Man we going to make some Amazing stuff in this!
honestly this is the type of stuff that will take video gaming to the next level of mainstream acceptance
I hope the single player story is as good as lbp/tearaway. After seeing the creation tools previews, I think I'm more excited for others people creation though, it's like, you can make anything in this game.
