While we've been eager to spotlight dozens of the PlayStation 4 games that we're excited for over the past few weeks, there are many more that we know next to nothing about. In this article, we've pulled together ten upcoming outings that are in-development but under-detailed. These are titles that have been kept under wraps by their respective developers since being revealed, and while their concepts have caught our attention, we want to know more about them all.
Cyberpunk 2077
After the triumph that is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, all eyes are on Polish developer CD Projekt Red, and we already know what the studio's next project is: Cyberpunk 2077. All that we've seen of the game so far is one incredibly slick CG trailer, and we don't anticipate seeing much more until later this year at the earliest – especially seeing as Wild Hunt's second and final expansion doesn't have a launch date yet. Even so, we can't wait to see what this infectiously passionate developer is cooking up. Whether it turns out to be a role-playing shooter or something a little more unorthodox, we know that it's going to be big.
Detroit: Become Human
David Cage is dipping back into the sci-fi well with Detroit: Become Human, a title aiming to extend the story of its cinematic Kara short from a few years back. We know that racial tensions are going to play a part in this dystopian drama, but the pressure's on Quantic Dream after Beyond: Two Souls' narrative inconsistences. Thus, we want to see how the Parisian developer's responded to that criticism, and also whether it intends to add a little more cause and effect to its story in the wake of highly variable interactive adventures like Until Dawn.
Dragon Quest XI
Dragon Quest XI is still in early development, but we're confident that this latest entry in Square Enix's now legendary franchise will live up to the name. The jump to PS4 should make for a thoroughly impressive fantasy world, and we're eager to see some more recent footage of the project. Deep down, though, we're just excited by the prospect of a more traditional JRPG with a big budget. Given that the last mainline Dragon Quest title to release on a PlayStation platform was Dragon Quest VIII back on the PlayStation 2, this is a reunion that's ridiculously overdue.
Gran Turismo Sport
With the PS4 practically on fire in Europe, the suits at the soon-to-be-renamed SCEE will be gleefully eyeing the Gran Turismo game in their upcoming exclusives portfolio. But while Sport stands to be a stupendous commercial smash, the company's being curiously quiet about the Car-PG following its initial unveiling at Paris Games Week. There are legitimate concerns, then, that this could turn out to be another Gran Turismo 5: inconsistent and overdue. We want Polyphony Digital to dampen that speculation with a big blowout – and soon.
Mass Effect Andromeda
A disappointingly vague CG teaser trailer and a bunch of tedious BioWare tweets are all that we've got to go on when it comes to Mass Effect Andromeda, but the franchise's legacy is more than enough to inspire excitement for this new-gen instalment. With Dragon Age: Inquisition, the Canadian developer proved that it could expand the scope of its games without sacrificing their core role-playing elements. As such, we're hoping that Andromeda will iron out the wrinkles in this formula and produce an intergalactic adventure worthy of Commander Shepard's memory. We just really, really need a big gameplay blowout as soon as possible.
NieR Automata
No doubt one of the more niche titles on this list, NieR Automata is a sequel to PlayStation 3 cult classic NieR. Unless you're a fan of the original, we suppose that most people won't quite know what to expect from this follow-up – but that may not even matter. As it turns out, this stylish looking release is being developed by Platinum Games, which is almost a guarantee that the sword-swinging action will be absolutely mental in the best possible way. With that in mind, we wouldn't say no to a more in-depth look at what else the title has to offer.
Ni-Oh
If "it looks like Bloodborne with samurai" isn't enough to grab your attention, then we don't know what is. Being developed by Team Ninja, this could end up being a real return to form for the Japanese studio that once graced us with the largely brilliant Ninja Gaiden series. We expect brutal difficulty and plenty of style mixed in with some superbly satisfying combat, and we'd probably salivate over the thought of seeing an extended gameplay demo.
RIME
RIME's initial unveiling all the way back in the hazy days of 2013 filled a Team ICO-shaped void in the PS4's line-up, but developer Tequila Works may have taken a little too much inspiration from Fumito Ueda and crew. It's been years since we last saw this title, and it's currently looking likely that The Last Guardian will release first. As such, there's only one question we want answered here: what the hell is going on with this promising release, and will we ever actually get to play it?
Shenmue III
The jewel in the crown of Sony's stunning E3 2015 showcase, Shenmue III is finally in development – and now it's down to Yu Suzuki and his team to deliver. There's a strange undercurrent surrounding this project – it's almost like some spiteful folk are willing it to fail. With a shoestring budget and big pressure on developer Ys Net's shoulders, those mean-spirited few may yet get their wish. But as long as the game speaks to the fans who've waited so patiently for the next entry in Ryo Hazuki's story, then it'll be a success. And pleasing those eager individuals should be the studio's mantra right now.
Vampyr
From sci-fi to teen drama to Victorian horror – DONTNOD's clearly not a developer content with recycling the same ideas over and over again. Despite being announced eons ago, we're still yet to get our first proper glimpse of Gothic role-playing release Vampyr, but with a gameplay loop that promises to leave you pondering each fleshy feast that you devour, we want to actually see this vampiric adventure in action to understand how it's all going to work.

I was about to vote for Nier, but then I saw Shenmue 3. I didn't know or remember most of these though.
I voted for Vampyr but BieR is close behind.
@sinalefa That's why we did the article to be honest. Many of these games were announced to much fanfare, but have disappeared a bit since.
Cyberpunk 2077, loved the Witcher and can't wait to see what they can do with a futuristic setting, oh and if there is a certain cameo in it. Also Detroit as I've really enjoyed these narrative driven games and not forgetting Grant Turismo because no matter how hard I try, I can't get into Driveclub and I need my racing fix.
Vampyr, I don't want any spoilers for Shenmue or Mass Effect
I am getting Detriot, Dragon Quest, Nier, Rime, Cyberpunk 100% All the other are on my list to but these I have to have.
I voted for Vampyr, but Detroit: Become Human sounds like it'll have a very interesting story (now if they'll just get away from QTE gameplay). One more thing I'd like to know more about is Josef Fares' (Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons) new, unnamed project.
What about ni no kuni 2 ?
2016 release pleaseeeee.
I chose Vampyr. I don't really need to know about the gameplay of Mass Effect. What else do I need to know. Vampyr isn't something I've heard of before, but it definitely has my interest from this article.
Can we not choose a couple of games?
Nioh just read about today I know its getting a 2016 release date just not sure when
Rimeor Detroit are the games from this list I want to know more of them although I chose rime. Re could be very disappointing Being a very long development.
I really hope RIME, GT Sport, Shenmue, and Mass Effect get more info soon. Since Cyberpunk is by CD Projekt Red and I prefer sci-fi to fantasy, that's got my interest too.
I went Neir but should have gone Ni-oh
Pretty great list, hadn't heard of Ni-oh or Vampyr but definitely interested now. Voted for Mass Effect because I'm getting desperate for literally any news.
Really would like to see more on Cyberpunk and GT Sport. Both games are something I'm very interested in, everything else except Detroit is something I'll have a look at when it comes around.
Vampyr, mostly because the concept couldn't be more different from Life Is Strange. Also, the others I have a rough idea of what I can expect tonally.
Although it's yet to have a proper reveal - I'd love more info on Amy Hennig's Star Wars game.
Any chance we will ever again get a game like Ni-OH but w/o the brutal difficulty? The Onimusha trilogy were some of my favorite games way back when - not a fan of 4 - and Genji 1 was that but better - before the giant crabs in 2. I know there are lots of easy games out there but I really want a sword wielding game where I get to kill everything in my path.
Anybody here play Sword of the Beserk on Dreamcast?

Cyber Punk, because of the studio behind it. None of the other games are all that interesting if I'm being honest and I used to be a huge fan of Mass Effect but, for all its faults, there was a charm that Mass Effect 1 had that 2 and 3 didn't. Now that that group of characters are gone, not sure I'll be able to get into the new game at all. Vampyr has an interesting concept but DONTNOD is one of the more overrated studios out there.
Good list. Only one I'd never heard of was Vampyr, pretty much every other game I've been waiting to see more of. As mentioned above, Ni no Kuni is high on my list too.
Cyberpunk was my choice for the most, but Nier and Dragon Quest aren't far behind.
Cyberpunk and FF7 for me
I'm still amazed at how both a spiritual successor to Shadow of The Colossus AND a spiritual successor to Ico will likely release in the same year, especially after Team Ico completely passed over the PS3.
Anyone else who read "Deep down, though, we're just excited by the prospect of a more traditional......" in the DQ XI bit and had their mind wander off to a completely different game we haven't heard anything about for the longest time??
@Boerewors I wouldn't get your hopes up for that one ever releasing, sadly.
@wariowarewolf i'm pretty sure it's not going to release this year.
@ShogunRok I agree 100%.
Dragon Quest XI, Final Fantasy 7: Remake, Ni no Kuni 2, Valkyria: Azure Revolution and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim for me.
2077, I like the premise. Detroit is 2nd.
Cyberpunk and Vampyr are my most anticipated games. I'm also looking forward to, in my opinion, the daddy of racing sims, Gran Turismo.
The Mass Effect series got worse each time so I'm not too excited like I once would be for a new game.
After the brilliance that is Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, nothing intrests me more than Cyberpunk 2077.
Resident Evil 2 Remake (most probably available on PS4). I want to know more about!
I don't need to know a lot more about NieR, it's Platinum Games, so it's going to be awesome regardless. I want to know more about RIME though, even if it's just a trailer. I know the game's still alive, but it's been so long since we've seen footage of it. Just a trailer and I;m satisfied.
@get2sammyb I'd still like to know more about New Hot Shots Golf and when it will arrive. I've been looking forward to a new one, and the game actually looks like it could be a fun title. Also, is there any mention on what kind of Sonic game that Sega is releasing on the PS4 for Sonic's Anniversary, or is that still a hush hush from Sega??? It would be nice to have a huge Sonic collection game in HD, featuring all of the Genesis, Dreamcast and the older ones on PS2 and PS3 re-mastered.
RIME dammit!
@VanillaLake
Yes, REmake 2 would shoot to the top of my list if it had been included in this poll.
None of those say Persona 5.
The Last Guardian
^What Bender said.
Oh, and Gravity Rush 2.
RIME for me. I'll be getting Detroit anyway, more than likely. The rest I can't say I'm bothered about... even GT Sport.
Tough one this, but my inner fanboy is just going crazy for Shenmue III so had to vote for that - even though I'd be quite happy to ignore everything that comes out about it until the game lands on my doorstep.
Apart from that though I'm genuinely looking forward to almost everything on that list. Detroit, Mass Effect, Cyberpunk and Ni-Oh in particular.
@Gamer83 Absolutely.
Good list, I'm excited to see more on Cyberpunk and Mass Effect. Rime looks very interesting as well.
