Star Wars Battlefront PS4 PlayStation 4 Beta

Can't wait for your first taste of Star Wars Battlefront? There's good news for you, then, because the first-person shooter will be landing a PlayStation 4 beta in early October. The developer's keeping many of the major details under wraps for the time being, but we do know that it'll feature three modes and will be issued as a technical test for the online-focused escapade.

The main portion of the server stress test will revolve around Walker Assault, a 40-player multiplayer battle between the Rebels and the Empire. You'll also unlock access to one of the Survival missions, in which you and a friend must bat away waves of Imperial forces, as well as a new mode named Drop Zone. More details on that are to be announced in the near future.

Publisher EA's also taken the time to reveal a new Companion Experience for the title, which will be available on phones, tablets, and the web at release. This will allow you to play a strategic card game which will enable you to unlock additional in-game content, and will be available at launch from 17th November.
