We already had an inkling of the kind of bundles that Sony would be putting out for Black Friday in North America, but now the platform holder has sealed the deal with a post on the PlayStation Blog. While there’s no word yet on PlayStation 3 and Vita deals, the PlayStation 4 is unsurprisingly taking centre stage, with two jumbo sets selling for $399.99 USD ($449.99 CAD).
The first of the packs is probably going to draw the most attention, as it’s got Grand Theft Auto V plastered all over its packaging. The set will net you Rockstar Games’ hotly anticipated port on Blu-ray, alongside a digital copy of The Last of Us Remastered. As we’ve said previously, these may be re-releases, but they’re also likely to end up the two highest rated titles of the year.
Of course, the abovementioned mature releases don’t exactly scream fun for the whole family, so we reckon that its second option is smart. This will include a Blu-ray copy of LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham and a download code for LittleBigPlanet 3. Honestly, considering that Microsoft’s bundles all focus on mature games, we reckon that this is a really, really smart alternative.
The Japanese giant’s still going to have to contend with a cheaper Xbox One, but these sets are going to sell out regardless – it all depends on how many the firm will actually ship to stores. With pretty much the entirety of Europe also going gaga over Sony’s next-gen system, we have to imagine that production is at capacity right now. Exciting times, huh?

Sony be all like...
@get2sammyb Birdman lol and those are some nice bundles! Hopefully they include some 2-4 player games in there too.
With that, I still don't regret buying mine in the summer
@get2sammyb haha. That's the best clip I've seen on this website... These are impressive bundles and Sony doesn't even need the help. They've been killing the competition, but they have to respect our nation's overblown "holiday"
Eh...pretty mediocre value.
@Storytime7 Nonsense! The PS4 retails for $399.99 on its own - you're getting the two games for free!
If those are the bundles available, I think I will pass. I already have the only game of those I care about: the Last of Us.
@get2sammyb It's mostly the fact that the first bundle has two games I've already played, and the second doesn't really interest me that much. Actually, I should rephrase my initial statement. I think it's a mediocre value in comparison to the black friday deals for other consoles.
Given the bug-filled disaster that is AC: Unity, both these bundles provide better value than that X1 bundle. However, there is the CoD: AW Xbox One set, which considering CoD is actually good this year, isn't a bad deal and 1TB of memory this day and age is nice. It's going to be interesting but I could see GTA V tipping the scales to Sony, especially since that bundle is $400 and you also get TLoU.
Props for that sub-header!
Is that available everywhere or just a certain retailer?
For me second bundle is much better as it includes games I didn't play a year ago.
@get2sammyb Haha, nailed it!
I'd be interested in the first bundle if I could afford to spend $400 at once.
Otherwise, I'll probably just be buying a Wii U sometime in January.
