Styx and stones

What do you get when you mix stealth, steampunk, and a sprinkling of high fantasy? Okay, so you probably get Dishonored or Thief. But now there's a new kid on the block, in the form of PlayStation 4 title Styx: Master of Shadows.

Developer Cyanide Studio recently announced the project on the PlayStation Blog, and it seems that the team is focussing on providing a thoroughly traditional experience. "For this game, our goal was to return to the roots of the genre," the post stated. "We want to offer a real challenge to the player, with a game requiring strategy and reflexes."

The stealth-'em-up doesn't take itself too seriously, though, as its main character – a goblin named Styx – just so happens to be the proud owner of a snarky and sarcastic wit. If you're not entirely convinced, take a gander at the title's announcement trailer down below. Just, er, maybe mute the video, as the voice acting is a teensy bit ham-fisted.

What do you make of this game? Are you a fan of its brand of dark fantasy mixed with stealth, or is it just a bit too camp for your tastes? Sneak about in the comments section below.
