Topic: Need Some Assistance Regarding The Removal of Wii U Soft Modded Software...

A friend of mine soft modded my Wii U for fun without my permission and I was wondering how I can fully remove the software without reformatting my Wii U which would cause me to lose my 300+ digital games and save data for my retail ones...

I don't condone modding and am REALLY ticked at my friend right now. Any assistance would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

I would contact Nintendo, but I'm worried they'd ban my account despite it not even being my fault so I really hope to resolve this here. @Tasuki any advice? Also feel free to lock this thread if it breaks the ToS of this website, it's kind of a grey zone, but I'm asking for help with removing the involuntary addition of said software so I don't know if that's allowed or not...

@get2sammyb Nintendo Life won't load on the Wii U browser anymore! Go figure LMAO! xD

back up your save data to a USB drive (yes you can do that) and then wipe the system

after that, redownload your games (i know that will take a while) then transfer your game saves back

i think that's the only thing you can do

@FullbringIchigo Can this be done with an Android netpad assuming it has enough hard-drive space? I ask because I don't have an actual PC...

@Rukiafan7 you can do it from the Wii U itself no need for any outside device
