For some social distancing, and staying at home might not be easy. What do you do to cheer yourself up at home? Do you read books, exercise, game, or re-discovering long lost hobbies?

I'm a postie but unfortunately I'm in the high risk category so not only am I off work for 12 weeks (maybe even longer as I don't see this worldwide problem just going away any time soon)I can't even leave the house.
Going from a 15 mile walk a day on delivery to almost no exercise is hard let me tell you.
Seriously though my days have an almost exact same routine now..this is roughly it..maybe missing a few things like washing up and toilet breaks etc!
1/Wake up and have breakfast.
2/Play Wii Fit for 30 mins then have a shower. (So glad I kept my Wii console)
3/Read a book for a bit and then play on the Ps4/Switch until lunch.
4/Have lunch,then read or play Ps4/Switch until 4ish..
5/Run or walk round the back garden 50 times (luckily we have quite a big garden at the back)
6/have our evening meal then watch something on sky.
7/Ps4/Switch/Read until 9..
8/Watch some thing on Netflix then go to bed..and repeat..

I actually started off clearing out..thought it would e the perfect time but after clearing out a few bits and bobs and filling up dustsacks full of crap I realised the dustman weren't even coming so our garage is just filling up with all sorts so I gave up.
Been a postie for 30 years this October and despite me really getting to dislike the job over the years I really am missing it now..

My lifestyle has Completely changed.

10am wake up, relax and consider getting out of bed, read Pushsquare and news.
11am get out of bed, have shower and breakfast with the family, meds etc
0:30pm Chores around the house
2pm family activity
2:15pm cancel family activity due to arguing (this has happened 3x in a row including just now)
2:30pm go for a poo to contemplate the politics of my home environment, read Pushsquare and look up trophy hunting advice.
3pm buy kids vouchers off the internet
3:15pm have time with my daughter who is seemingly the only person in the house who gets on with me in isolation. Spend the next 3 hours laughing our heads off. Playing toys, crafts etc.
6pm Set up the Snes mini for her on the little TV. My PS4 goes on to read messages etc.
6:15pm make Tea / Dinner
7pm Watch the news
8pm Daughter to bed, kids meds, read.
9pm Put the PS4 on, wife plays on the PC, older kids wind down.
10pm-2am Rocket League and Dreams

I rarely exercise consciously, my job had me walking around 3 miles a day. Now that's gone we do spend time in the garden but I'm finding I just want to play on my phone. Thanks to this thread I'm going to make a considerable effort to get back to the proactive approach of the first 10 days LockDown. My older kids are on half term which has ruined the routine of the initial period.

Working from home, which is a real pain in the ass frankly. Just don’t like working from a home environment.

Other than that, it’s just like usual, without all of the lovely freedom I’m used to. So that sucks, too.

Still, at least I am not on the front lines...

Being high risk, I'm off work so I'm just pretty much just playing games, watching Clone Wars episodes and reading books most of the time. I've not been out of the house for over 3 weeks! Just trying to keep safe.

Still going to work as usual, so it hasn't changed a huge amount for me. Getting exercise most days, playing plenty of video games, reading books, watching TV, making the occasional chess move etc.

It is difficult buying food at work now though so I am bringing more food in with me than I was previously. Which is a good thing I'm sure, for all sorts of reasons. And we turned our conservatory into a greenhouse when this all started, just for fun so watering the plants every day. Never been much for gardening but if there's a food incentive, I'm all for it.

@themcnoisy
Sounds like a good day but no lunch!?

@kyleforrester87
Yeah, working from home doesn't sound like any fun. But at least you save time and money on the commute, right?

@LieutenantFatman my cycle commute was my exercise so it was a great way to force me to get out and get my heart rate up - I am not motivated enough to do that as regularly while working from home! Plus it was free, so no cost saving not doing it lol.

Ah yes, that's no good, sorry to hear that matey.
I would cycle commute as well but a little too far for me to go, maybe one day. I do love a good cycle I have to say.

Working from home, initially found it difficult adapting to the lack of human company day and night as I live on my own. Had a couple of wobbly days but i think I've just got used to it now. On my lunch I turn off my monitor, try not look any mobile device, turn the radio off and read a book something so I have a bit of peace when i have my lunch.

Going for a walk every day for at least 30 minutes, not sure if helps but it get me out of the flat. Chatting to my mates on WhatsApp is good and so is phoning up my parents on a more regular basis. Gonna try this house party app this weekend, I usually hate that kinda stuff so will see how that goes.

I work nights in retail so my weekly routine has barely changed. I'm also a personal shopper for my Mum and my elderly neighbours for the time being but it's no hassle and glad I can help them stay isolated. My biggest change at weekends is missing football, but it means I'm doing even more gaming so my backlog is coming down nicely. Didn't go out much at weekends anyway so no massive change there either.

I spent the last couple of weeks working like mad since all my uni work was fast tracked but the lack of exams means it just stopped suddenly. I’m basically just existing until September at this rate, summer’s boring enough without it coming early. To kill time, I’ve been playing tons of MLB The Show because it’s a good grind with loads of content and I’ve been slowly working my way through the top album charts on Rate Your Music while listening to other releases that catch my fancy. My mum and I have been binging Justified on Prime and along with my brother, we’ve been rewatching the Marvel movies on Disney +, well the later ones because we’ve seen the early ones too many times to count.

I'm down to 2 days a week at work, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The wife is loving it as she is still working full time I do all the chores and make her supper. When I'm not doing that I'm gaming, reading and catching up with Netflix. I beat Control today which was brilliant, Ashtray maze was an excellent set piece to behold. Decided to start reading Asoiaf and flew threw A Game of Thrones in less than a week with all this free time. Stay Safe everyone!

@kyleforrester87 yup, work from home is even more difficult. But as soon as there is work, it's still good than being without nothing
