Topic: Question for PS4 Pro owners

Hi. I have a launch PS4 500GB and I have a few question about PS4 Pro. Does the Pro also make a loud beep noise every time you turn it on like the standard PS4?

One more question, does the fan make more or less noise than the launch model?

The Pro fan is noticeably quieter on the Pro. It isn't completely silent, particularly on graphically demanding games but it also doesn't sound like an aircraft taking off!

My Pro is louder than my standard PS4 was. People moaned about the original PS4 but I never had a problem with excessive fan noise myself.

The Pro isn't that much louder, having said that.

I do tend to open them up and clean them out quickly every few months which probably helps.

Fan noise is much quieter on my Pro compared to the Ps4 I upgraded from. I had one of those launch shadowfall bundle Ps4's so it's likely that it was just in need of a repaste. Just putting some decent thermal paste on the APU can improve temps & fan noise a lot on the standard Ps4.

@kyleforrester87 Really? I am surprised as my original PS4 really did sound like I was by a runway at the airport, even after a clean (not that I don't believe you!). It was actually one of several reasons I upgraded.

@Rudy_Manchego Yeah I heard a lot of people say the same so I've no doubt it was an issue, I was lucky I guess lol. Cleaning out the dust really seemed to help, but I've seen people who've tried that to no avail. My Pro is certainly louder, but it's not so bad either.

@MadchesterManc yeah that's most likely the issue if cleaning dust out doesn't help.
