I've done most of the tutorials at this point, and yet I can't figure out how to make something as simple as a floor for my character to walk on in sandbox mode
@roe Mario was floaty, and if that stays the case then it's possible copyright won't be an issue. And really copyright should never be an issue b/c at least in my mind copyright should only become an issue when you are trying to sell something, and I doubt Mm will start letting people sell levels or games inside of Dreams. Worst case scenario is the names get taken Mario - Mario gets renamed Jumpguy, Link gets renamed Swordguy, Donkey Kong gets renamed JungleApe.
Won't be a problem for me regardless as I wont' be making anything capable of getting me sued.

@Octane My 14 yr old son played a few of the tutorials using 2 Move controllers and he seemed less than impressed. Said something about it being LBP but in 3D but more complicated.
Maybe you should stick to spaceship shooting and space exploration?
Is there no preset ground you can use? I mean surely a wide open flat surface we can paint some grass and hills on should be a starting point. ModNation Racers on PS3 had a pretty decent level builder for ground manipulation and that was 10 years ago. They may have called it auto-populate.

@rjejr You need to create it yourself. But they have a few ''landscape'' tutorials, and I'm sure those will help with that as well. Haven't gotten around to it yet.
@Octane Wish I could have done that. Unfortunately I need to travel 2 hours to work on Wednesday's. Had to get in bed way earlier than I liked. I just finished the basic tutorials, which were cool, but all I really wanna do right now is try out the music editor.
@Kidfried I only tried the sound effects tutorial. The music tool is completely different beast I want to tackle on an off day. Can't wait to make some synthwave tracks though!
@WanderingBullet Well, you have to make the content yourself, so it makes sense
But even the levels you make yourself are very small, because the game renders everything in a unique way apparently. Not polygon based, but it saves the coordinates of your movements.
You guys have me jealous and very interested now. I had decided not to be an early adopter and wait until launch for this, but it sounds really cool!
Does it look like a game that is going to be worth getting if one has no interest in the creating side of things? Like is it likely to be worth it for just playing all these little mini games or will it get old? I would think it is going to be awesome just to see the breadth of creativity people come up with.
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
@WanderingBullet I think it's because they reuse assets in a very clever way and none of the creations are that big. It's incredible that it's so small and requires no extra downloads to play anything within it though.
@Th3solution It's diffiult to say, because there isn't a whole lot of content yet. But I'm sure that will change in a couple of months from now. People are already doing some very clever stuff with the creation tools. I'm still just fooling around though, getting used to the controls, and I think many people are..!
@WanderingBullet I believe they had to, because Sony limits the size of save files to 1GB (or maybe 10, can't remember). So you can still save a ton of creations and levels without ever exceeding that limit.
