Some friends of mine on a PSN Chatroom were discussing this and I was wondering if Sony will still sell PS Store Prepaid cards despite the fraud and scams involving them.
If this thread is in the wrong section, can a moderator move it to somewhere suitable?
@Alantor28 Yeah let's use common sense here, if they did get rid of prepaid cards how would people without a CC make purchases on the PSN? That would hurt Sony alot especially since people aren't too keen on giving PSN CC numbers and such especially after that huge hack job that happened to them a few years ago.

I only use psn cards. I don't want my cc on my account due to the possibility of hacking of accounts, however slim.. It's a minor annoyance to buy cards, but it also keeps me from buying too many games on impulse.
I only use prepaid cards or PSN in-store vouchers.
I can't see Sony getting rid of them as they sell extremely well.
On AmazonUK the the number 1 and 2 best seller for PlayStation are the £10 and £20 top up.

There are scams and fraud on most things these days especially when money is involved, not just on ps codes. There are a least a couple of instances at work every week when someone's visa card has been cloned or something.
Like others have said they are extremely popular and would make no sense for Sony to stop them.
And forgive for being naive, but I don't think ps codes are rife for being scammed are they? There was something a couple years ago with one site selling ones with used codes, but certainly nothing I've heard recently.

I have had the same PSN account for 7 years and only ever used PSN Cards. They are hands down the safest way to spend money on the PS Store. That said you have to purchase them from a reliable source.
@Tasuki That's true. Odd thing is, my friend Nasdun spoke with a Sony representive about this and he asked me to speak with one to prove that my friend Nasdun is right. But like you said, we need to use common sense here.
If Sony discontinues PS Store cards, that would hurt them badly. So I doubt they will discontinue PSN Cards like you said.
Well since we are all in agreement here and that Sony will not be stopping PSN cards I think I will just end this here before this thread gets out of hand. Just remember next time you hear something like this especially such a wild sounding idea like this it's probably just a rumor unless you get it from Sony themselves and not a friend's uncle who works for Sony.
