A part of me thinks this is a strategy by Sony so that when they introduce the amount they actually want to charge no one will complain because it will seem reasonable compared to the beta otherwise they must have been hitting their head on the stupid tree.

Let's hope they use common sense pricing like they did with the ps4 rather than that of the infamous vita memory cards.

So it looks like Sony is listening to feedback from people about the Playstation Now.  The got rid of the four hour rental time limit and now the lowest you have is 7 days.  Hopefully this means they will adjust their pricing here soon.

Yup, at least it's one step in the right direction. Not out of the woods yet, but to be fair this is just a beta.

Yeah.  Which makes me laugh when people start complaining about the prices and such.  Alot of people need to release that this is beta that's what it's for to see what people like and don't like test out any kinks and all that jazz before going live.

Honestly I think they went a little high on the prices but I think they did that on purpose you know kinda like bargaining, start a bit higher then what you want let the buyer talk you down to a price that seems reasonable to them and in the end you walk away happy and they walk away happy.

So the open beta started today for NA.  If you are on a PS4 just go to the PSstore and you will see Playstation Now listed.

Alot of places are complaining about the rental prices vs the price to buy the game at somewhere like Game Stop for example.  My only problem to that reasoning is what if you are like me and dont own a PS3?  Then the rental prices seem reasonable at least to me.  The only thing I wish is that they had a monthly subscription  plan something like Netflix where I can rent as many as I want for one low month fee, but it is the beta and Sony is claiming that they will be listening to what players have to say about Playstation Now.

So what do you guys think of the subscription plan now?

I know some people are going to gripe on how they can get the games cheaper at Gamestop or whatever but honestly I think for someone like me who doesn't own a PS3 this can be quite the deal. Any of you guys going to try it out?

Subscription is up now in the US I believe with a seven day trial. Has anyone tried it out yet? Thoughts?

Ok I got to mess around with it for a bit and I have to say I am really enjoying it. I can play most of the PS3 games that I have missed. Now to be fair I do have my PS4 hard wired to the modem so I don't know how well it will work on a wireless network, but as it is I don't notice really any lag or anything to make me think that I am playing a game via streaming. I will be paying for a three month subscription at the end of this trial.

Now honestly if you don't have a good internet connection or have a decent PS3 library then this is probably not for you. However if you are like me and have a good internet connection and skipped the PS3 or got rid of your PS3 then this is a great service.

Just some basic thoughts so far...

-A slight lag is still noticiable, which can make for somewhat of an irritating gaming session pending the genre of the title, and that's with a 30 mbps connection.
-Picture quality is still lacking quite a bit compared to digital download and / or retail
-I feel the service excels at arcade games like Metal Slug, Crazy Taxi, and or when PS1 and PS2 titles, or other retro games are avaliable.
-Although AAA 7th gen titles are playable, the quality of the experince is lacking to truly make it worthwhile IMO.

Bottomline, I think I'll enjoy PS Now as a time waster when playing retro / and or just simpler titles in general, but the numerous problems still makes the experince seem a bit flawed when playing 7th gen and or more complicated / AAA titles.

Thanks for the impressions. Interesting that you enjoyed playing arcade games like Crazy Taxi, which I tend to associate with quick controller responses. That bodes well, I think.

Crazy Taxi is a twitchy game, but it's extremely simple, for some reason or another I don't notice the lag as much. Overall I think PSNow is a neat idea, bit it still has aways to go IMO.

Over the weekend I managed to play Uncharted: Drakes Fortune (Awesome game btw), Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, and the Sly Cooper collections (Just a random thing is Cooper really a naught word in the UK?) and I didn't experience any lag what so ever. My son also played Infamous and Overlord and again no lag at all. As I did say though I have my PS4 hardwired to the modem for a better connection so I am not sure on a wireless set up.

At first with there prices I was skeptical about PS Now but with this subscription base I am really happy with it. I mean for $45 for 3 months I have access to alot of games. Some I will play some I wont but there tend to be alot of games that I will play. Considering that after adding up the games my son and I played at Gamestop all those games would have cost $55 we already saved $10 and I am sure we will save even more since there are still a few games we want to play like God of War, Ico, and Shadow of the Colossus

I will be keeping it for now the only thing I am wondering about is now often they will add new games to the monthly plan and how often they will remove games from the monthly plan similar to how Netflix switches their movies up every few months. Also the thing I am wondering is if you have a game that you accessed with the monthly sub if it gets removes from the monthly sub portion do you still have access to the game or do you have to pay again for it. Some games in their catalog I noticed aren't part of the monthly sub like Mega Man 9 and 10 or Infamous 2 for example. Thing is though when I order something off of PS Now I notice that my email receipt says that it's a 90 day rental so I am thinking that maybe every 90 days they add/remove games, but that is just speculation.

In all I am enjoying the service alot and I am really thrilled about it. Its like having a PS3 now.

I have to say, my view of PS Now has changed, I had a solid 30 mbps wifi connection, but the lag was noticiable......however I recently purchased a ethernet cable and the lag is non-issue, pretty much everything is perfectly playable (also playing the first Uncharted.

So yes, very much recommend for somebody like me who is going from the 360 to the PS4 and missed all of the great Sony exclusives during the last gen. My only complaint is the resolution of the games still leave a bit to be desired, but it doesn't ruin the experince, you have to remember it's streaming.

But yeah, PS Now is totally recommended on the PS4.
