I think people are tired that these companies only pander to one side of the political spectrum.

Its totally unfair how its "okay" for companies to only parody and attack right-wing stuff, but liberal stuff is almost never ridiculed these days (decades ago, both sides were ridiculed and parodied), and I think people are tired of the double standards and why these type of stuff causes so much backlash nowadays compared to before.

@DETfaninATL that's not true all the time, look at the recent Snow White live action, huge backlash and controversy and it performed poorly at the box office. Same with Suicide Squad, Concord, etc the list goes on.

PushSquare, no one cares if you put that headline in order to persuade people to not buy something due to your politics, people will play the game regardless of any side's politics, look at both Hogwarts Legacy and Ghost of Yotei.

The 90s and earlier 00s had a lot of unique, creative and recognizable soundtracks, but nowadays most soundtracks (from both movies and games) are sooo generic, bland and forgettable.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is one of the very few cases of a modern game having an actual creative and memorable soundtrack like we used to get in the 90s/00s, but none of Sony's modern games have any memorable OST, it all sounds like modern generic Hollywood slop.

Good news, hopefully this means there will be less games in the future prioritizing annoying modern political messages in their games, and can actually focus on writing a good story and characters like the original ME trilogy.

@DennisReynolds "really blowing up"? that's a bit exaggerated, from what I'm seeing on Wikipedia, Hunter hasn't starred on anything major or mainstream since Euphoria. Last time I heard of this person's name, was in a false rumor of a Zelda casting which was proven to be false.

@pyrrhic_victory oh yeah, raceswapping both Jill and Leon (who's personality was also totally different from that of the game) was very faithful to the source material indeed lol

@MidnightDragonDX you only mentioned 3 games, but there are a dozens others that also got vitriol online and sold poorly, to name a few Saints Row Reboot, Concord, Suicide Squad, Forspoken, SW Outlaws, Dustborn, DA Vailguard, Unknown 9, etc

If he decides to keep prioritizing divisive and disliked characters like Abby or the new bald chick from Intergalactic, instead of memorable and loved characters like Joel and Nathan Drake, then he'll see more failures on his future just like the rating drops from TLOU Season 2.
