@RicebinBernacky Don't know about it being the first, but it was surely unnecessary. Who was asking for this game to be remade? It was only ever a couple of quid on Steam, for what was a nice-enough-but-not-really-worth-repeating experience.
Isn't it a big factor that, since the PS3, Sony has fed PS players a diet of a certain type of game, at the expense of a more balanced diet.
Years down the line and the PS consumer is dependent on this sugary 'high style, high production values' diet and so the idea of eating a few more veggies and high fibre foods is completely alien to a large proportion of the PS market.
Game development should always focus on what makes a game enjoyable to spend time with, rather than what looks good in a trailer. Get the gameplay good, then determine the graphical budget.
No-one's saying Spider-Man 2 wasn't fun to play, but was $300mill. really necessary to achieve that or could it have been largely the same game for a quarter or third of the budget?
Just encountering this now with a GT Sport update.
This process makes the PS4 the system I've ever owned. I just wanna race, and I'm having to wait 45 minutes for it to copy the entire game just to install a 180mb update.
Aside from anything else, I would not get one of these Day 1 PS5s just because of how big and ugly the cases are. I'll see you all in about 3 years when the redesign is out and lower in price. Have fun for now.
@AhmadSumadi Emulators play whatever they're programmed to play. If the emulator code includes the necessary instructions for it to look for and read discs it will read the disc.
Sony are the masters of slapping some new paint on old games and reselling them as current gen games. They do it well and make a lot of money from it, so why would they want us to have BC anymore?
Personally, I'm a fan of BC and particularly Microsoft's approach of actually improving the resolution, framerates etc. I'm not buying a new Xbox or PS5 at launch, but when I eventually do it will probably be an Xbox because this commitment from Microsoft is what I want.
The original is BC on Xbox One so I'll stick with that for now. Haven't played it yet but have it. If I like it enough maybe I'll pick up the remaster a few years down the line.
Did anyone need that much explanation to understand that SSDs are faster then HDDs? Surely everyone in the industry has known this for what... 10 years?
I was getting hyped for the 3D audio, but the revelation that they haven't got a total solution for it yet and that we're just at the start of the journey, was very anticlimactic. I don't wanna play with headphones all the time.

Re: Sonic Superstars (PS5) - A Solid 2D Sonic Game, If You Play It Solo
Doesn't seem like a 6 from that, but whatevs, I'll get it at some point (on Switch, obvs).

What's with the sepia tone all over the PS5 fidelity video?

Re: Project CARS 3 Is a New Direction for the Series, But Still a Racing Simulator
The idea of street races with a more sim-like feel to them, a la Project Gotham Racing, is right up my... err... street.
