Xbox is not exploding. Dev kits is not really an issue, people in the know can assume stuff — decisions can be kept secret, but tech is kind of a buffet at that level.. thing is.. M$, out of the three, seem to be aiming to disrupt. End “the war”. Nin is doing their thing as always. And SIE? Not really sure, mostly gimmicky meh-features atm :/
It’s sort of fun reading all of the childish comments, but come on.. even if y’all put a piece of plastic on a plinth worshipping it til the end.. why all the hate on getting another stream of games? Play games, have fun! Currently there’s a fun one exclusive to PS5 & PC.. dive into freedom!
@XanderTigerclaw not all Xbox games are console and not all are PC, some are both.. some are either. Xbox won’t die from opening up and spreading love, that’s fanboy nonsense. I mostly play Ps5, in large part due to the facts that I’m old and my friends are old (30+).. they only got Ps5. If they’re offline I’d rather play on my Xbox or PC. I hate that the story keeps repeating that Ps5 is somehow superior, SIE needs to step it up and catch up.. I’d rather see performance and features match. They don’t. But people bought in and feel content
@IOI I think it's the right move, I hope they launch about half of their exclusive games on Ps. Especially the multiplayer ones. I'm similar, I have Series X, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch hooked up to my set and Xbox One and PlayStation 4 hooked up to my kids' set… and a 3060-equipped PC. All of them are in use (got two kids). Some games are a better fit for a certain platform, some will always be exclusive and preference should steer – in my circle of friends Sony-only-friends seem to be more hostile and averted to other consoles, giving them a taste of "the other side" might be a good thing (they usually resort to "waaaah Xbox is soooo baaaaad", "there are no games" and childish nonsense). I've been playing Battlefield on PS5 with 'em and I'd really prefer playing Halo.. but I'd rather play together than alone (I prefer Xbox… but most of my friends prefer PlayStation… soooo… I adapt). Sea of Thieves would be dope. Xbox won't vanish, it has a place in the market (in my eyes it's more advanced, I don't care for gimmicks). Xbox exclusive games doesn't matter for me, I'd rather see more players enjoy them than Xbox hoarding them.
Since I already have a PS5 I feel this is good. If I didn't I wouldn't have bought it.The backlash might incentivize some progress. Haven't played anything on my PS5 in since Stray came out… other than a few hours at work (maybe a day total) of Tricky Towers, a game PS4 (or maybe PS3) would run rather well… I even picked up my Switch, which has been collecting dust since Dread.
I played Stray til the end rather than continue my looooong walks in Death Stranding. Will continue the latter soon, but Stray took my allotted PS5 time. Next up I’ll finish something on Xbox. Stray is one of the finest experiences I’ve had out of PS5 exclusives, it didn’t overstay its welcome, wasn’t hard just for the sake of it and had small details making exploration engaging. I’m fine with just one play through, but I hope they flesh out the setting and world with another game, perhaps playing as a robot saving near extinct flora and fauna?
Had a blast in early 2022 with Elden Ring whom most friends bought on Ps, but since then I’ve gone back to Xb … I’m really hoping that SCE showcases something exciting this summer! Or at least gives me a reason to dust of my PS5… :/ currently playing more games on Apple devices even (!)
Weird, this should really be a thing of the past. They should be able to symlink the two somehow, there shouldn't be too many differences between the two packages… :S I'm interested, but probably not enough. This can hurt the player base and then I'll be stuck playing with people on the other side of the globe with bad latency … so, I guess I'm no longer interested (that is until it is revitalized and everyone starts talking about it).
