Re: PS6 Release Date Touted for 2027, Cheaper But Less Powerful Than Next Xbox

eduscxbox

@itsfoz I don't think it is a "testing the waters" situation.

I say this because hardware development takes years of research and planning, so they can't just do tests now for 2027.

If the consoles are going to release in 2027, chances are chip productions will be starting soon, like early 2026.

They had to plan in advance with AMD and other partners for the components productions so the consoles can be assemble in time.

There is no way they're making market research right now.

Re: Sony Job Listing Implies More PS5 Exclusives Will Be Ported to Xbox, Switch

@naruball Nintendo will follow the same path eventually. When would you imagine we would have Mario games on mobile? But it happened, then Mario Kart, then Animal Crossing. Nintendo isn't as closed as they used to be with their ip.

There is no reason to make exclusives anymore after last generation, as people have built they digital library, and won't give up hundreds of games they acquired and switch platforms just because now they games are multiplatform.

Let me remind that Xbox Series X|S released with no first-party and still was vanishing of the shelves. Microsoft with their multiplatform Xbox/PC strategy still managed to sell 30 million Xbox Series consoles.

That means PlayStation can't convert Xbox users substantially to make a profit from it and Xbox can't either to the PS users, so the only way to grow now is show up on the rival platform.

This is how Forza Horizon 5 sold 3 million copies with a port that costed them almost no money to do.

So PS Studios releasing their first party games on Xbox and Switch is a smart decision.

Re: Xbox Games Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, Grounded All Confirmed for PS5, PS4

@MFTWrecks I'm not assuming anything, just saying it is possible. Also, you don't need a powerful PC, with Xbox Cloud Gaming you just need a browser.

And it is also possible to play through streaming on any device you already own such as mobile phone or even direct on a TV, no Xbox console required.

And no, you don't need a super fast internet to play Xbox Cloud Gaming, it plays just fine even with mobile data.

Re: Vampire FPS Redfall Was in Development for PS5, But Was Canned After Xbox Buyout

eduscxbox

@pharos_haven No, I'm not. I was simply following the logic of lots of people in the comments. So if someone is dumb that is not me.

Sony has exclusivity rights to Spider-man because of a deal with marvel, whatever that deal is. That is why it is only on PS.

Microsoft has exclusive rights over Redfall because of their deal with Bethesda (the acquisition). That is why it is only on Xbox.

So my question was: How is that different?! If you guys say Redfall (a microsoft first-party) should be on PS5, why shouldn't Spiderman (a Sony first-party) be on Xbox?

In that comparison they're the same: 2 first-party titles. Can you follow up until here?

It doesn't matter Spider-man was offered first to MS, or if Redfall is part of a publisher acquisition.

The comparison was simply if those games are first-party titles, why only one side should release their first party as a multiplatform?!

That was all.

Re: Vampire FPS Redfall Was in Development for PS5, But Was Canned After Xbox Buyout

@KaijuKaiser It is not unrelated. It is you that have double standards.

You say Microsoft is taking away games from PS (Redfall), because they will not release on PS5. Even knowing Microsoft paid 7.5bi on Bethesda.

Now Sony paid a undisclosed ammount for Spiderman, and made the game exclusive, but that somehow is fine.

I don't want Spiderman on Xbox, sony paid for, is their right. I'm just pointing how there is a double standard because of values of acquisition, but ignores Spider-man is a multi-million franchise with fans all over the world.

Redfall there is no fanbase yet, the game is new, there is no one harmed by the game not being on PS5.

If we were talking about Elder Scrolls VI I would agree as it has the previous entries, but Redfall and Starfield were never on PS.

Re: Vampire FPS Redfall Was in Development for PS5, But Was Canned After Xbox Buyout

So let me understand.

Sony Making FF 16 (third-party title) exclusive is fine.
Microsoft making Redfall (first-party title) exclusive is wrong.

"Ohh, but Microsoft hypocrisy... "

Microsoft said they would get games in the hands of more Players.

Xbox, PC, Cloud (includes mobile phones and PC with a browser, and Samsung TVs)

Even without PlayStation they're still putting games on more devices.

"Ohhm but they taking Redfall away..."

No. Redfall was never a multiplatform title, it is a new IP there is nothing being taken away, differently of, you know, Final Fantasy and Spiderman games... the hypocrisy...

Re: Sackboy: A Big Adventure Has Proven Very Unpopular on PC

@arra1213

You really don't read, do you?!

"I'm talking about people whose main platform is PC."

I'm not talking about buying a PC, I'm talking about people who Already Own a good gaming PC. They don't have to buy anything, just the game.

For real, it can't be that hard to understand what I'm talking about.

Re: Sackboy: A Big Adventure Has Proven Very Unpopular on PC

@arra1213

"...will not be enough for some people..." (key here is some people)

I'm not talking about the PS fans or God of War fans buying a PS5, that's obvious.

I'm talking about people whose main platform is PC.

I'm not talking about absolute sales of the PS5, I'm talking of PC-only players buying a PS5 just to play a single game when they know a couple years from now they will have the game on PC.

By the way, I've finished both God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn on steam.

I had a PS4 back then, don't have a PS right now, and if sony will keep their games on PC than I gladly wait for them on PC. That's my point, PS5 absolute sales have nothing to-do what I am talking about.

Re: Sackboy: A Big Adventure Has Proven Very Unpopular on PC

@BAMozzy I think you're right. And I also think that even games like God of War Ragnarok or Spiderman 2, as good as they can be, will not be enough for some people to go out and buy a PS5 for this particular game, considering Sony strategy to release games on PC at a later date some players might just as well wait for those big games to show up on steam.
